They should've made the "remake" a day one addition to PS Plus as a sign of good faith for the service, but I guess Sony just had to charge premium for a "remake" that's much closer to a remaster like Gears of War Ultimate Edition (but even that game had the decency to redo all the cutscenes, keep the multiplayer while adding new characters, and only be $30).
Better yet, this should've been Uncharted's chance to shine as that game became obsolete the moment its sequel came out.

Was Joel changed to be more angry/violent this time around? because I know one of the things Cuckman repeatedly moaned about in the first game was Joel not being portrayed as a mega evil badman raider rapist even though by the event of TLOU Joel had long stopped being a raider and was working as a gun for hire.

That is completely untrue. You also had to kill the doctor in the original to proceed. Also, there was no cowering that I saw, you sure you aren’t confused with the nurses? They cower, but the doctor literally acts the same as the original, outside of the obvious model change.

Sorry, I mostly just remember the nurse cringing, so my brain mixed the two reactions since the doc did not attack initially.
I am aware you still had to kill him tho in both games though. I just for some reason conflated the nurse with the doc.

Is this a remake where they rebuilt the game more or less from the ground up like the Crash Bandicoot remakes, or did they just make the game look prettier on the existing engine like Halo Anniversary?
