The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I'm coinflipping on this one, since the Cuckman is notorious for bold facedly lying his ass off. He did that prior to the second game coming out, and did that even in the face of the leaks. I would not be shocked in the slightest if this was him doing that again to try and trick reliables, especially if the death happens deep enough into the season to trick you.

However, the studios would want this show to continue to do decently, and that game's plot would crater that chance. Even casual viewers would likely hate it because it's not like the show has any other strong pillars or ensembles to back itself on if they commit to this.

So yeah, my guess is Pascal's gonna be hurt so he can do all the other shows his overrated ass is committed to, and they'll try and please both sides while damaging the show.

its not that they didnt wanna do a multiplayer game. its that sony really wanted them to make a live service multiplayer game and naughty dog was not keen on doing that

Given we know how well that went with Concord, I can get behind why Naughty Dog left money on the table here. Especially since TLOU2 was Druckman's baby and he wasn't going to let it be soiled by anybody's shit but his own.

Regardless if Drucky is playing 4D chess or not, pretty much the entirety of TLOU2's story hinges on Joel being a Bad And Wrong Man, so him admitting this just makes the whole premise even shakier and more nonsensical than it already was.
And the funny thing is that this all could have been avoided had two things happened:

1. Joel got killed in a sensible manner, since everybody was expecting him to die. Give him the Mufasa death. Not literal character assassination in service of a new person literally nobody but Neil liked.

and

2. Player were still given the option to kill Abby in the game. This never should have been changed because it woud have been a back door to get out of 'canon' depending on character reception.

isn't the rumor that it was bunghole as the "experts of live service" sony paid almost 4 billion dollars for?

i assume you mean sony bringing in bungie to help development with such a game, to which they did do that, not sure about that other stuff tho

sort of, they bought them for all their monetization specialists, who can most expertly nickel and dime you.
You see Druckmann and Hulst were so sure their live service games would be massive successes they were far more concerned with maximizing the money they'd make than they were with actually delivering games, let alone games anyone wanted to play

"Naughty Dog didnt want to do live service but sony made them" is such a funny narrative. There is no Naughty Dog, it's just Druckmann and an endless carousel of employees that came and went. Nobody has any decision making power there but him. and the top people at playstation who decide what does and does not get made are Druckmann and Hulst

last of us 2 is now on pc, most reviews are positive for it, and it notably runs better than when they ported part 1 to pc, probably due to the amount of feedback they got for that port

edit: just in time for the season 2 launch of the show as well

Nobody is fucking playing it, though. Even the shit-tastic port of TLOU 1 managed to hit a higher peak than this. TLOU II is also only $49.99 and TLOU I is still $59.99, which should tell you what Sony's expectations are.

I remember how quickly TLOU2 would get discounted and they started bundling it with random ass accessory packs just to get rid of it. It sold ten million copies over four years compared to the original and the remaster that have almost thirty million combined.

No one wants the tranny anti huwyte game.

The jew completely removed any possibility of a third game, and I couldn't be happier. I won't even touch the pozzed remake where everyone is uncanny valley and they consciously made Joel less muscular and it looks ridiculous.

Me and my girl have been playing it the last few weeks and it's new for her. We just got to the Winter section with Ellie. I'm going to spoil TLOU2 after we beat it because I'm never buying that shit.

Normally these are a couple of sentences long, this is a whole ass page.

I wonder what changed his mind considering 2 was made for the very reason to say that Joel was wrong.

@Toolbox may be on to something.

His kind isnt known for their integrity...

Either way, the show ran out of "good" source material and all they have is something that had been "mixed" at best.

So now Im detecting a bit of a GOT Season 7/8 situation on its way as the writers will be forced to come up with original shit on the spot and while that isnt always a disaster, more often than not it is.

Oh I suspect it'll be a lot worse than the first season, but funnily enough I'd slightly rate the other writers higher than Cuckman if given the ability to do it themselves. They ironically might make something better than the run, even if it's still crap since even if it's just their own crap, it'd probably not be any worse or possibly less hateful than his.

Imagine how fucking ironic and hilarious would it be if the original stuff is praised and beloved...
But then the show takes a drastic fucking fall of quality as soon as Part 2's events actually begin :suffering:

Journo: The game should speak for itself
The Game: Joel was right.
The Game (if you bother reading everything and find the knick knacks at the final level, or if you just use common sense): Joel was right.

The series barely even resembles the game to begin with, ignoring the race swapping, Office Bill, and assorted nonsense, I really couldn't even finish the first episode. The fact Dr. C. Uckman cast a perfectly normal woman and not a (male) pro wrestler, MMA fighter or linebacker as Abby-chan says it all.
