The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Seriously i don't get the hatred towards joel. Was druckmann pissed that he was more popular or something?

Druckmann wanted the first game to have a story as stupid as 2 but was stopped by Bruce Straley. Druckmann has been buttmad about it ever since.
I guarantee you that the completely unnecessary, far too soon remake will be because Druckmann wants to change the story of the first game back to his genius

Pretty much. I expect it to go something like this:

I get the feeling that sony and druckmann are more worried about getting awards at this point.

Someone on The Last of Us subreddit (as in the main one, not the one where you can actually criticize TLOU2 without being sent away), apparently rented out a theater for 2 hours, to play TLOU2, as a self-treat for getting a Covid shot:

On one hand, it is his money and he can do what he wants with it, and I'm sure that theater appreciated the patronage, but on the other hand, why would you only rent it for 2 hours, while the whole game takes at least 18-20 hours to finish? Also, doesn't the Joel In One happen around the 2 hour mark of the game, unless that was his intentions from the start?

Not to mention that he's wearing a TLOU2 T-Shirt as well, which gives off consoomer vibes, and what's visible of his face reminds me of David Hogg for some reason.

The fanbase for this game is so cult-like it's actually kind of scary. Bet this guy has one of those TLOU2 shrines at his home too.

Color me surprised they actually had enough self awareness to realize absolutely no one wanted more Abby. Baby steps I suppose.
You can bet your ass Cuckmann is fucking seething, though.

Brainwashing. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Something tells me that wasn't as expensive a purchase as it might sound. I suspect theaters these days are desperate for whatever revenue they can get.

They realized they wrote themselves into a corner.
Same reason why they're remaking Last of Us 1 rather than making a new entry in the story.
If the story continues as Ellie, they'll be forced to deal with the elephant sized Abby in the room.
If the story continues as Abby they'll have thoroughly alienated the people who cared about the story of the first game, and instead the audience is left with a unsympathetic plank
