I always figured most female comics slept their way to the job, but Schumer probably only had to threaten to sleep with the producers instead.
 
It's been thoroughly proven over the years that Schumer is a joke thief. Here's one from her most recent special:

At least Leary did some halfway decent stuff after Hicks was dead that wasn't ripped off from him. This horrible woman stole Patrice O'Neal's material and did it long after he died! She's shameful. The worst part about it was that she stole some of Patrice's most hacky shit, if you're going to steal a dead man's stuff, at least pick some of his better shit.

I feel bad for Dolph Ziggler for having dated her. She actually said she broke up with him because she couldn't handle the sex as it was 'too athletic'.

Leary always had better delivery and wouldn't derail his own shows with childishly simplistic political rants. Most of Hicks' sets have not aged well at all as a whole, but Leary's have while using the same jokes

I saw a small part of this special where she "joked" about not getting enough cum and how she wanted to make snow angels in it. As you do.

It's not true, she used to be funny for the first two seasons of her show when:

1) she was still a nobody
2) she hadn't been infected by social justice (to that degree at least)

She used to make funny/subversive jokes that would make SJWs reeeeeeee


Starting with season 2 you could see flashes of her ego going unchecked but it wasn't that bad. Everything past that has been shit.

Same thing happened to Key & Peele in their last season, though they did manage to make a couple of funny sketches still, unlike Amy.

She's basically Dee Reynolds irl if she had somehow made it to Conan and it hadn't been an elaborate prank. Also, way less bangable and more porcine than bird-like

Her really early shit on Stern was great, too. She got the poz something fierce after signing with comedy central and became the hollow shill that she is now soon after

It's easy to say she slept her way there (given her material, it's not a novel concept), or that she's cruising on sex appeal.

I prefer a more pragmatic view: she has a good agent, and she's being marketed as a talent that speaks to the crowd that hates Trump, worships social justice, and feels guilty about sexism. The fact that her material isn't funny doesn't matter, she offers them a way to laugh at/with the fat girl talking about sex, without the danger of being seen as misogynist or slut-shaming. Producers think this brand of talent is going to be very marketable in the future, and so Amy Schumer is being pushed into TV specials and Barbie movies in anticipation of her being a hot commodity-- despite the fact that (I think) no one is actually asking for this.

Sometimes, you can just feel when a new talent is being shoved into our faces by force of pure marketing. Sometimes it works. Most times, people ultimately reject them.
