The answer is kind of complicated, but for Chris, yeah, he can get extra :tugboat:for being low-income.
They fucking well should be! I would have less of an issue using less tax dollars to pay less free money to someone trying to work than outright paying them to do jack shit all day. Having a fucked personality is not a disease or a disability, chris does not deserve social security to do nothing. He doesnt deserve it at all, but if he got less of it and worked for SOMETHING he got, it would be better for everyone.

Typing that kinda pissed me off. I wish to fuck he would lose his tugboat.

Typing THAT pissed me off even more. Tugboat. Fuck that shit.

In several cases the governments make it too easy to collect welfare or do welfare fraud, but who do we blame for it? the recipient or the government?

You really think Chris is normal enough for work? Even Chris is smart enough to know that's not true.

Mind, I agree, he should have his tugboat come in less as money, more as food stamps, canned foods, used clothes, and stuff he can't spend on Legos, but he definately needs it to survive.

Nah, Chris doesn't think the reason he can't work is because he's abnormal. He doesn't want to work, so he finds excuses about why he can't work, like the trolls.

Oh I know that, but I really don't think he could hold down a job, even if he tried it now. He is like a 10 year old kid.

To be able to get a job, he would have to mentally grow up.

The sad part isn't that Chris lacks willpower. It's that his willpower is pointed in such a way that he'd rather die than do what he doesn't want to.

For years he's been in such comfortable circumstances that he's never had to make decisions between survival and his luxuries.

But I don't think he'd die (well, and even not literally, I think he'd sacrifice a lot of comfort if he needs to, to survive). He'd just be so enraged if he has to compromise on things like that. Like how nowadays, he's so pissed off because he's having to decide between legos and survival. He deserves both! He's the original artist! $1000!!

Heh, or, I'm thinking of when he had to plead guilty in court. He was so angry about having to plead guilty, he hesitated for awhile before saying "yes". It was a huge blow to his ego.

You know, I'm fine with letting Chris have his full-fledged tugboat. Why send a moody, jealous, rage-y ignoramus to Wal-Mart to aggravate the customers? Chris's tugboat is just going to translate into a tax credit for Wal-Mart, it's not like the tax money still won't go into a black hole of fuck-all either way.

wait , doesn't the US government provide EBT cards ? I figure they would give Chris one because its like a credit or debit card with restrictions on what can and can't be purchased.

Though some on welfare sell em just to get easier access to fast food, cigarettes drugs and alcohol.

^The government just puts a certain amount of money into his bank account each month. There are no restrictions.

I think he gets both.

There are a lot of benefits Chris could be taking advantage of. Like free psychiatric treatment in Virginia. But... how's that going to get him more legos?
He's worried that if he gets help for himself, he won't be able to blame other people and make them do things for him.

Do the Chandlers get food stamps? TANF is out since they don't have zero-income, but where do they rate on the poverty line as far as monthly income goes? I have a feeling Bob is providing a very generous pension and Social Security for the household, hell, will Chris's tugboat go up after Barb kicks it? At what age did the Federal Gov't deem Chris to be disabled? I personally think the Chandlers get a shitload of money each month, they just have nothing to show for it.

Did he have to undergo counseling of some sort after running down Snyder?

I don't know, would the tugboat count as income? I would imagine that they'd count actual earnings, and then things like disability and stuff are separate categories.

He had to undergo an evaluation.

well people apparently in my area somehow get a monthly tugboat of $5000 CAD but are as lazy as Chris. And no Ontario doesn't want him, we are going to have enough problems for the next few years due to a recent election.

Chris CAN conform to a schedule, most autistics that can function crave the structure, If Chris had done trade classes instead of something as useless as CAD at PVCC he'd have had a fighting chance. I've finally saved up enough to put myself through school. I'm taking electrician classes and it's fun as hell. Chris could do plumbing or carpentry, get hired on as an apprentice through some disability program, and get a rewarding menial job that doesn't require much if any exposure to the general public...At least that's what I could have said 10 years ago.

It's possible that when Barb goes to the great hoard of fire down below and Chris no longer has an anchor weighing him down, and is finally exposed to the harsh realities of life that he'll seek out the comforts of socialization that employment brings, but I'm afraid that the dependance that Barb has beaten Chris down with after Bob's death plus all the trolling has destroyed any social skills he might have once had.

CAD is also a trade and totally not worthless. The problem is that Chris Q-assed his way through the courses like everything else in his life, and instead of practicing and making a proper portfolio, he was playing Pokemon, creeping on Megan and writing Sonichu.
