Just like in Apple's case, they gaslight their customers about their hardware, not software. Maybe with the exception of HDMI 2.1 on Linux, because I keep reading about how it's now Le Fully Supported, and then I check it out, and it's another Linux Lie, though this time it's coming from NVidia instead of the Linux fandom.
HDMI is genuinely fucking evil and they act like the mafia. You either accept their standard and pay them royalties or bad things'll happen to you. DisplayPort is a much better and open standard that HDMI deeply despises as it eats into their entire racket scheme.

Can you retards sperg out in DMs instead of shitting up the thread. You sit here crying about how you were unfairly threadbanned just to exhibit the exact retarded spergout you always do that gets you the on the mods shitlist in the first place.

"Oh god I just whacked a hornets nest and like... they started attacking me! Let me sit here and stomp on the nest to teach them a lesson... THEY KEEP STINGING ME! I NEED A EXTERMINATOR, PLEASE! Wait don't push me away from the hornets nest, I was hitting it!"

because I keep reading about how it's now Le Fully Supported
Its already supported on Nvidia gpu and AMD is getting it enabled by default in 7.4.

I was focusing on two specific teams by mentioning these two corporations: the Windows development team and the macOS development team. And how they conduct themselves
Yet instead of going "it's the user's fault that Win11 is a piece of shit", they did the bare minimum of acknowledging they fucked up, doing half-assed attempts at pulling up and keeping an active list of issues they're aware of and are working on. I'm yet to see Windows team pull the same type of shit Linux users do when they blame the user for a fuck-up that without a doubt came from the package devs or distro maintainers.
You're comparing what linux users do to what the windows dev team doesn't do. "Windows devs don't repeat the behavior of linux users" makes you cheer. "Linux users don't acknowledge the shortcomings of linux devs" makes you seethe at both the users AND the devs. It's not clear who you're really mad at here, if anyone at all. This makes your bait too obvious.

You somehow expect the users to promote better development processes, while also not expecting any background knowledge or relevant competency from these users. This doesn't work and this is why you don't court masses of retards, it results in women hysterically sobbing about Epstein AI data centers. They can never be responsible stewards for technology they won't bother to understand. You yearn for a brimstone niggerhell of your own making.

You've ran to the site's admin over three posts after half a year of absence that you could've simply ignore. It's not my fault you lack the impulse control needed to ignore one wall of text post. By all means, run to the admins on every occasion, seems like this is one of those threads that needs active moderation due to it's regulars lacking self control.

I was referring to the melty you had at Null over Linux that got you put in the corner with a dunce cap.

Looks like we're on the track of that happening a... fourth, fifth time at this point?

All I'm expecting is that if a developer is at fault, a developer is at fault. If I nuke an important registry key and my OS shits the bed, that's on me. If an update fucks something up, that's on the developer. There is no incentive in shifting the blame from the developer if the developer fucked something up. See: the NOTABUG/WONTFIX plague of certain FOSS projects. Including the crown gaslighter project: GNOME.

Or, I don't even fucking know what I'm talking about by this point.

That's not the point. The point is this lie:

It is not. It produces gay rainbow snow whenever DSC is required. If I switch from 144 (or less) to 240 Hz, it creates this AIDS:

gaysnow.webp

KDEs worst spokesperson, niccoloveslinux, has made a video about omarchy.

The TLDR is:
Omarchy bad cause muh AI
Omarchy bad because muh DHH genocide n shieet
Omarchy bad because I don't have millions of dollars
Omarchy bad because I alongside everyone else am a insufferable faggot who can't talk to people for funding
Omarchy bad because we are too retarded to take money from companies we don't like, even if there's no downside
Muh technofacism
I remember this asshole from when he misrepresented the hyprland "drama" (calling what happened drama is a huge stretch but I digress).

I think one of the biggest problems Linux has is that people like him and Brodie are who come up when you search "Linux" on YouTube. Dysgenic losers that look 2-3 years away from trooning out or like they legally can't be within 100 yards of a school zone.
I'm not saying that the figureheads and spokesmen of Linux and FOSS should be Adonis gigachads but I am tired of looking up various DIY tutorials and having my "recommended for you" section filled with a gallery of circus sideshow freaks.

It would also help if the so-called spokesmen weren't the same types of useful idiot midwits like Brodie who only parrot a narrow subset of talking points, in his case it's bending the knee to Wayland at every step of the way, or outright grifters like Mental Outlaw that don't actually use the things they talk about, just follow a simple dumb script on how to make a video and get a bunch of clicks. His OpenWRT video is what really soured my opinion of him, but I already ranted about that multiple times. He should stick to farming chickens.

Stallman is unironically a better spokesperson than Brodie or Outlaw.

They are at fault bro. We come together to point and laugh at their faggotry all the time. Life is good, we all know what you're talking about, getting MATI over autistic elitists or whatever isn't worth it.

The circus freaks are fulfilling a demand that exists because millions of gay niggers are searching "Linux" on YouTube, because millions of gay niggers have been instructed that linux is better for defeating Flockstein Fascism / Globohomo / your demon of choice. Nothing will improve until computers become boring nerd shit again, hopefully after the hype cycle moves on from AI.

To break up this festival, I had some fun with one of my Linux installations today that took me an hour to realize what had fucked up.

So I updated whatever needed updating and immediately noticed that a few applications stopped launching. I also noticed that they were installed via flatpak. Aha, I said, must be a flatpak issue. Then I attempted to launch some other applications that were also flatpak packages...and they launched.

I checked the error messages that were being generated in verboise output and they seemed to indicate an issue with the cups socket. When I checked to see if cups and cups.socket were working properly, there was no issue. I had to admit that at this point I was somewhat puzzled.

Okay, so I then jumped back into the terminal and started pulling some info from those four applications and noticed they were all using the same runtime, where other flatpaks were using a different one. I happened to notice one of the things that had been updated was this runtime. I reinstalled the run time (and cups for good measure), rebooted, and presto fixo.

I have to admit that had I been fresh off the boat, I never would have fixed this. I would have noticed that a few applications weren't working, but without an output in GUI -- because not a fucking thing popped up to tell me that the launching was failing, I would have had no clue why. It was only by plumbing in the terminal that I figured out that a runtime had been corrupted and needed to be reinstalled.

So future kids reading this, don't be afraid of the terminal.

The complexity and the pain in the ass of raw file management of Flatpaks reminds me of UWP on Windows. The next best thing on Linux in terms of sane software distribution is taking notes from one of the most cancerous form of software distribution on Windows. Shoved in some bullshit path, with a randomized directory name, with bullshit ACL's. Amazing.

This is actually a really hard problem to fix. Due the network effects and the heterogeneous nature of the ecosytem there are multiple entrenched standards and coordination on one is systemically impossible and there's also no consensus on what a "next-gen" standard should even look like. Only thing that comes to mind is nix, but that's not gonna displace all the deb/rpm based stuff any time soon. As a teenage indian tranny this is my biggest grievance.
