The Linux Thread - The Autist's OS of Choice

Did some Google-fu.
Which yielded the following results on the first page:
Never touching that shit. I'm somewhat xenophobic and I either want the perfect Linux distro after Ubuntu or atleast Debian in terms of usability or it can go suck a fat one for all I care.

And also since someone else here simps Manjaro:

Never happened to me, never happened to a bunch of people who use Windows. Hardware support on Linux is poor and several people actually made that exact complaint all the while saying that they had to switch back to Windows. Call it obscure, but it seems far more common than you think.

Here's another red pill: Regular posters on this thread have a 50/50 chance to be either autistic, schizoid, a mong a tranny or all 4 simultaneously because the only 2 groups of people that Linux really appeal to are the privacyspergs and the genderspecials.
Dude, I'm not going to read a random blog and reddit post from 2016.

I'm asking for your personal experience where Linux forced you to use the command prompt.

Hardware support is the job of the people selling you the hardware.
I don't blame Windows for HP's shitty printer drivers or AMD's graphics drivers either.

  1. Installing packages.
  2. Modifying internal settings like GRUB and the sysrq setup because they require the ROOT permission which only exists on the Terminal.
  3. Running Java and Python files.
  4. Installing more programs that neither exist as a package in DEB format and aren't available in my own package manager.
  5. Moving and deleting a ROOT protected file that was accidentally put in the wrong folder, I don't even recall how it ended up there. If I was on Windows I'd just go to my admin account and do it on the GUI directly. I can even delete System32, no question asked, so why can't Linux just let me do my things?
  6. Probably other dumb shite I forgot to mention.
I'm not even including more technical stuff like me compiling a program from Github nor my use of dd because I can atleast understand why they'd be exclusive to the Terminal, but everything else is just clown world bullshit and proves that Linux has a long way to go to actually compete with Windows and Mac.
@Kiwi & Cow sounds like you'd like MacOS.
My thoughts exactly, I've said this exactly on the other thread that MacOS is actually sound, only problem it's expensive vanity garbage, also stated this on the other thread.

Bro Linux faggots are giga mad at all my red pills lmfao.

  1. Installing packages.
Package manager GUIs have existed for ages. E.g. synaptic.
  1. Modifying internal settings like GRUB and the sysrq setup because they require the ROOT permission which only exists on the Terminal.
Nope. You can run GUIs with root privileges without using a command prompt. E.g. kauth, kdesu, etc.
  1. Installing more programs that neither exist as a package in DEB format and aren't available in my own package manager.
I don't know what that means. Just a tarball? GUIs for unpacking tarballs are a thing too

Just right-click on your file manager and select "open as administrator"?

HP is notorious for being shit hardware with shit drivers, double shit when there are better alternatives. Common sense has a play in all of this.

Also Nvidia and to an extent Intel and AMD aren't fully supported. Nvidia in particular always causes problem to Linux setups, I repeat always.
Package manager GUIs have existed for ages. E.g. synaptic.
You mean Gdebi? Which was recommended to me by someone else and doesn't even come preinstalled by default? Also synaptic is a fucking mess to use.
Nope. You can run GUIs with root privileges without using a command prompt. E.g. kauth, kdesu, etc.
Then how? From what I could tell it's not fucking possible, atleast on my system it's not possible.
I don't know what that means. Just a tarball? GUIs for unpacking tarballs are a thing too
External repositories, you have to register them first which needs the terminal. Also what are those GUIs? I thought Tarballs were exactly like ZIPs.
Just right-click on your file manager and select "open as administrator"?
It doesn't fucking exist on my system retard.
Imagine malding about Linux trannies as if they aren't nestled in deeper elsewhere
Ok tranny.

Playing devil's advocate, I agree it's not easy to switch from Windows to Linux, especially if you can do your spreadsheets and gaming just fine. Usually, someone would switch if they use a potato, have any problems with Windows itself (updates forcing themselves, online accounts, advertising, yadiyada), or if they just wanna learn and experiment.

You've failed to take into account that despite all of this, I like Linux, and you are a faggot
I wouldn't even be here if the 2 retards who summoned me literally didn't. Some niggers here need to learn the idiom "Don't poke the bear".
I've never posted here and probably never will unless you'd be interested in my Linux screenshots. Anyways go whine about it to @Stabmaster Arson for this shitfest.

Here's my final red pill of the day: Linux has a marketshare of 2% among desktop OSes because it's the biggest most niche, most outdated piece of shit ever conceived and it'll be this way until someone actually decides to update it. Comparatively, Windows has a marketshare of about 90% and Mac (Which is again a literal steal) is about 8%. Every other systems have a marketshare below 1%.

Exactly. It's common sense to not buy hardware which don't offer decent drivers for your OS.

Every noob distro comes with a package manager GUI by default. I have no idea what you're on about.

Right-click, "open as root"? That's how it works in Mint's default file manager

synaptic definitely let's you add new repositories from the GUI.
Yeah, I was just talking GUI archive tools like file-roller.

It doesn't fucking exist on my system retard.
You haven't even told me what system you use, double retard.
All this shit exists by default on the big popular beginner-friendly distros like Mint.

Bro Linux faggots are giga mad at all my red pills lmfao.

"I'm not mad, you're mad!" They taunt while sperghetti is falling out of their pocket. "There's Trannies! Trannies everywhere!" They scream. Running back and forth slapping stickers to every surface they see. "THEY SUMMON ME FORTH TO INTERNET BATTLE!"
  • It's fine that you require a GUI.
  • It's fine you have an opinion even if the logic is flawed.
  • Getting mati at people that just want to correct the fudd your spreading is entertaining but pointless.
  • Microsoft & Apple also employ trans people.
  • Market share reflects intelligence/profit risks/laziness of those purchasing not the actual product value. ie: betamax vs vhs and stocks/nfts/crypto vs precious metals
  • Step back and realize that the experiences you're having are great for learning new skills.

  • Cyber bullying? LMAO just look away from the screen dude!
Obviously you have no interest in giving Linux a go again currently. Maybe play around with Windows CMD line to so you have a better understanding of that shell/system under the GUI. Even Microsoft realizes Linux/Unix has value or they wouldn't have stolen so much concepts from it or opened up WSL/LTSC/LTSB for users. That or you can just keep making excuses/cope for why you don't want to try and fail learning new things just because you haven't figured out that failing is part of learning.

At least mention the biggest benefit for windoze that's the Adobe creative suite. Everything else you mentioned is based on ignorance and general retardation.

Terry is literally using an OS made by niggers. (Hint: That system is called ubuntu) :sighduck:

Exactly. It's common sense to not buy hardware which don't offer decent drivers for your OS.
It's also common sense to not use an operating system that is so archaic and poorly maintained that it's supporting nearly no hardware whatsoever because the open source drivers are worse than the proprietary ones. yeah seems logical to me.
Every noob distro comes with a package manager GUI by default. I have no idea what you're on about.
Gdebi is not a package manager, are you retarded? It's the one thing that allows me to right click on a DEB file to install it. No synaptic bullshit, no Terminal bullshit. Just note there's a GUI version for KDE and GNOME and a command line version. http://launchpad.net/gdebi
Right-click, "open as root"? That's how it works in Mint's default file manager
Epic, so because you used one Linux distro that means those features must be in every distro ever. Also my specific problem was to move and delete a ROOT protected file, IDGAF about opening it, so your distro wouldn't even solve my initial problem.
Yeah, I was just talking GUI archive tools like file-roller.
Epic meme there buddy.

Good to know! BTW a Linux afficionado had this to say about distros like Mint, Manjaro and Ubuntu.

Infact you'd offend them because Android is actually designed correctly with usability and user-friendliness in mind, something that most Linux distros will never achieve.
User friendliness perhaps, but do you use your phone for anything besides consuming content? I don't. Whenever I tried doing something productive, it felt like every app was hindering my progress just because of how locked down everything is. In terms of getting something I want out of the system, Android ranks lower than any desktop OS. Also yes, it's not really a Linux system, but it does have a Linux kernel.

Getting mati at people that just want to correct the fudd your spreading is entertaining but pointless.
Are you fucking retarded or what? If Linux had no issues on a user level I wouldn't even trashing it.
Market share reflects intelligence/profit risks/laziness of those purchasing not the actual product value. ie: betamax vs vhs and stocks/nfts/crypto vs precious metals
Holy fuck that's gay.
They attitude on display here (lazy, contrarian, blatant rejection of information/help) is why you're cyber sec thread is dead/sucks.
You mean the Windows 10 thread because the other thread was fine, it's just that nobody has any reason to post on it as far as I know, I literally didn't even mention Linux a single time on that other thread.
You also have dead threads, I must assume it's because you're a contrarian, right.
Cyber bullying? LMAO just look away from the screen dude!
Where did I even mention it? Holy fuck that's cringe you're making up shit I've never said. :sighduck:
At least mention the biggest benefit for windoze that's the Adobe creative suite. Everything else you mentioned is based on ignorance and general retardation.
What's retarded about wanting a system that works in the year 2022 that isn't a literal ripoff of MSDOS with a GUI put on top of it at the last minute to pack it all up?
User friendliness perhaps, but do you use your phone for anything besides consuming content? I don't. In terms of getting something I want out of the system, Android ranks lower than any desktop OS. Also yes, it's not really a Linux system, but it does have a Linux kernel.
TBH I don't want something literally like Android, but that'd be nice if the Linux community would actually try to be more open to ease up the OS, I'm sure it would actually have a chance against Windows 11 which is the biggest shiniest turd I've ever seen in recent years.

At least mention the biggest benefit for windoze that's the Adobe creative suite. Everything else you mentioned is based on ignorance and general retardation.
At least there are some alternatives for Adobe stuff.
Try finding usable CAD/CAM software for Linux.

It's also common sense to not use an operating system that is so archaic and poorly maintained that it's supporting nearly no hardware whatsoever because the open source drivers are worse than the proprietary ones. yeah seems logical to me.
Nigger, there's a countless amount of hardware components and devices out there. A lot of them require deep knowledge of the internal hardware to write a proper driver for - it's common to see things like workarounds in the driver for hardware issues since it's cheaper to fix software than hardware.
It is retarded to expect Linux devs to write all these drivers for the hardware manufacturers.
Microsoft doesn't do that either, it relies on the manufacturers to write the Windows drivers for their hardware.

Gdebi is not a package manager, are you retarded?
I have not made any statement about gdebi whatsoever. I don't know what it is and I don't care.
What I'm telling you is that every noob distro has a GUI way of installing packages.

Epic, so because you used one Linux distro that means those features must be in every distro ever. Also my specific problem was to move and delete a ROOT protected file, IDGAF about opening it, so your distro wouldn't even solve my initial problem.
There are hundreds of distros. Do you expect me to give you a rundown for every single one?
Open file manager as root - bam you can do root file operations. How is that a hard concept?

Good to know! BTW a Linux afficionado had this to say about distros like Mint, Manjaro and Ubuntu.
lol Luke Smith is a huge retard who falls for every /g/ meme ever.
