I have control of my mouse with Piper, have yet to mess with the G keys as I never used them much and would dearly like to change the colours on my headset (forgive me, I’m female and like stuff to match),
Is it just way harder to play games on manjaro linux with an nvidia card? Games run way worse on there then on linux and other than some tiny issues, its my only real hangup with the thing.
I hate the concept of needing a driver of any software for a gaming mouse or keyboard. I have two "mechanical" keyboards but both are plain USB and neither of them have RGB because I think it looks tacky as shit. and I know i'm not the only one who hates the ridiculous "gamer" aesthetic. it seems like it's almost impossible to get a nice mouse without it having some kind of stupid glowy light.
the curent recommendations are popOS and mint I believe. actually, if you do most of your computing in a browser (boomer facebook, social media, email) and only do a few native windows applications (like copying files around) you'd probably have a harder time getting used to a mac (stupid keyboard buttons)
you're right but I was thinking of maybe getting one with higher dpi for aim-intensive games (not that I'm particularly good, but would be fun to try)
I suck at shooting and my mouse is cheap, so most of my online gaming has been games like Rust or Ark where you can grind until you have way more resources and can just BTFO people through being OP.

The main Mint releases is generally based off the latest Ubuntu LTS release with updates. If there isn't a specific Mint package in a third party repo, you can just use an equivalent Ubuntu version- I've never run into problems with that. I think the GUI software center type tool it comes with may even automate that when adding PPAs. Using Mint is like using a Gnome 2 era version of Ubuntu- it just works. Releases come more often than Debian stable releases, and while it does have the systemd infection so does Debian so it seems like a better beginner choiceawoo said:

I have been using the same mouse for over a decade now and have never felt the need to replace it. The Logitec B100. This mouse has outlived 4 computers and survived 6 cross-country moves. The only reason why I also don't use my equally long lasting logitech keyboard is because my old roomate bought me a gaymer keyboard with lights and everything.
One time when I was visiting my dad in like 2003, he needed his mouse cleaned. So I reached into my work bag and gave him the thing we could just grab off the shelf at work when we needed:

that's what was true, but maybe not currently. their G502 was their best selling mouse but apparently their newer stuff suffers quality control problems. it's documented in some amazon reviews which is a real shame. not the first company to have a bestselling product, only to cheap out on manufacturing and tarnish their reputation
True. I had the like... first MX mouse and shit's notorious for killing the button microswitches, mine died like that.
I digress but I just want to get a reliable mouse that has a little DPI and aim, is that too much to ask
