That was the test.My first computer was a thinkpad running ubuntu, should I get tested?
I started on a Mac and I’m probably a fair bit above average for tech, so the results will probably just show that Mac users are on average more intelligent and productive individuals than windows users.
The early Thinkpads were actually pretty rock-solid. And by that I mean the IBM ones. Fuck Lenovo and all their bullshit. My first computer was a thinkpad running ubuntu, should I get tested?
What's the latest IBM one and how well does it run?And by that I mean the IBM ones

Not well. The IBMs and even many of the early Lenovos are just too old to be useful for anything but a retro programmer-socks novelty build. What's the latest IBM one and how well does it run?
Isn't that also called a hairpin NAT?What's happening is your traffic is going from device > router > ISP > router > server. NAT Loopback would cut out the ISP component because your router should already know that you're trying to reach the WAN side of it.
Unfortunately, like that other dude pointed out, about 2005. They were very good for their time. They are unfortunately obsolete at this point. None of the Lenovos are worth shit. What's the latest IBM one and how well does it run?
I mean, I have a T60p, just post-IBM, and with maxed out RAM it is _technically_ usable for browsing the web (though not viewing any video in the web browser even at my preferred 480p). If I swapped in the absolute best CPU you can get for them it would get those fancy new 64-bit instructions AMD just came up with and might be about half as useful as a modern Chromebook.Unfortunately, like that other dude pointed out, about 2005. They were very good for their time. They are unfortunately obsolete at this point. None of the Lenovos are worth shit.
My Yoga gen 5 has been pretty decent, and have been really good quality compared to other laptops I've had. If ThinkPads are shit, what does that make Acer or HP and so on? Is there a single brand you wouldn't say is shit?Unfortunately, like that other dude pointed out, about 2005. They were very good for their time. They are unfortunately obsolete at this point. That sounds right. As per Google's shit AI:Isn't that also called a hairpin NAT?
"Hairpin NAT" is also referred to as NAT loopback, NAT reflection, or U-Turn NAT; all of these terms describe the same network function where a device on a private network accesses another device on the same network using the public IP address of the router, essentially causing traffic to "loop back" within the local network instead of going out to the internet and then returning.
Key points about these names:
Hairpin NAT: The most common and descriptive term, visualizing the traffic flow as a "hairpin turn" within the network.
NAT loopback: Emphasizes the traffic looping back to the local network.
NAT reflection: Highlights the aspect of the traffic being "reflected" back to the local network.
Without any tinkering you have to select desktop mode, it only boots to game modeDoes SteamOS let you choose the desktop environment on login? So you can use it normally has a game console usually, but when plugged into a dock with monitors and keyboard/mouse you can get a standard KDE desktop
levono recently retired the little mouse keyboard nub tooThe early Thinkpads were actually pretty rock-solid. And by that I mean the IBM ones. Fuck Lenovo and all their bullshit.
I hate to say it but Apple at the high end, although I probably wouldn't buy one in current year.If ThinkPads are shit, what does that make Acer or HP and so on? Is there a single brand you wouldn't say is shit?
Apple spent five years gaslighting it's users about their butterfly keyboards only to finally give up on them and go with something that doesn't break all the time. They had a laptop where if you opened it all the way the display cable broke.I hate to say it but Apple at the high end, although I probably wouldn't buy one in current year.
