The software works for most users. You will not report that it is not working stalker child. You will cease this slanderous posting or you will enjoy prison.
Funny thing is that other people in the thread were reporting the exact same issue.
A segfault does not happen LIKE that because of user error or because of some hardware quirk. like that shit is 100% because of the way its coded.

I think anyone that thinks they need to defend Microsoft's honor should genuinely consider suicide ❤️.

It's the same thing as fighting to the death to argue why Google is actually great. Pure bread wagyu nigger cattle behavior.

Just ignore him. He hates Linux for some inscrutable reason and is just posting here to provoke y'all.

Just wanted to poke fun at the fag flag problem being universal in software, but as usual, if it's a Windows issue, you're free to overblow it's severity to the point like it seems like it's the end of the world. But if it's Linux, you have to go out of your way to be as autistically precise about how no stalker, it is not a problem on Linux, in fact it is only YOUR problem Windows child, and you will enjoy prison.

To paraphrase @prollyanotherlurker, I think anyone that thinks they need to defend Linux's honor should genuinely commit suicide :feels:. Or Apple's for that matter.

I went to a Tech convention the other day and they used Windows 11. The icons fucking baffled me

Ill be killed for this opinion but I think the DESKTOP version of windows8/8.1 looks the best.
Fuck the metro stuff when you hit the windows button that shit sucks ass. But like the Actual desktop part looks extremely nice and looks like a extremely fast stable system

I dont know just like the blue, Its like a mix thats a sweet spot. I also think windows vista looks better than 7, Windows 7 idk just does not stick out to me it looks to watery and idk earthy, cant explain it, like my keyboards covered in dirt and minerals with the keycap stickers peeled off and on my monitor theres a big water/liquid spill on it maybe some food crumbs. Maybe I think of something like that whenever I see windows 7s homescreen because it was primarily used at my schools and well, thats pretty much what they were like. , Windows vista has this weird raceway feeling to me that I like.

What's the point of complaining about linux fags making linux their entire personality if you're just going to be the exact same kind of person but for windows. Threadshitting is still unambiguous gay shitting even if you call it something else

Having to disable functionality to get rid of an unwanted visual feature is practically unremovable, yes.

And still, you're comparing this to a niche package manager for a single desktoop environment that isn't even out of alpha. Disingenuous doesn't even begin to cover it.
Likewise. Did you know that on Windows you have a choice to install a better searchbar that actually finds your files and doesn't force any pride flags onto you? I'm sure that this is also bad because you have to install third party software to have choice which for some reason is now bad because uhh, Windows?

I don't know, either learn how to stop moving the goal post and be humble when you're on the receiving end or don't be so smug all the time when someone dares to poke the fun at you for a change.

Flame Wars Episode LLLLLLLHIV: The FLOSS awakens
People that are working on something complex enough to benefit from the tools that it provides
I know Anduril uses NixOS on "electromagnetic warfare products" but I'm not smart enough to understand why. I always saw Nix (and Guix) as neat, but ultimately useless, though what do I know.

I actually think those icons look quite good.
Yeah the shift towards gradients is a positive one. Now that Apple made their own Aero style UI I'm expecting for Microsoft, and possibly the rest of the industry to start skewing more towards the gradienty glassy looks which would be a good neutral ground between the excessive flatness and the skeuomorphism of old.

Nigga no you don't. those icons look like a 10$ shutterstock.com fisher price children toy icon image pack your third grade teacher would use in those power-points where they pick the worse possible images known to man

Isn't that pretty much what Fluent UI is? A bit of transparency & blur, a bit of gradients, some clearer separation between elements. I definitely don't want anyone going full-on Liquid Glass, that shit is atrocious.

IDK how much dev work you've done, but the general Nix/Guix approach means that multiple packages of the same program can exist in your system without issue. This obsoletes "pack dependencies" bullshit like AppImage/Flatpak/etc., and honestly outclasses Gentoo for that use case; Gentoo requires special packaging to make things coexist nicely.

Military glowniggers are probably fond of reproducible builds and the exact, autistic packaging pipeline that Nix provides.

With how Windows 11 is going I just jumped ship to Linux Mint and it's already having some issues like my second monitor not working. If this persists what other oses should I try?
If you’re on Nvidia make shure you’re using the official drivers and not the open source ones, they tend to cause shenanigans.

Memory serves mint had a GUI specifically for installing drivers.

A system like Guix is the only way you can faithfully recreate an environment that was made up of old versions of libraries and applications, without doing it painstakingly by hand (and probably incorrectly). This matters in some cases, that's why Guix is big in the reproducible science spergsphere.

Linux gamers on Steam finally cross over the 3% mark

Link (archive)

It finally happened. Linux gamers on Steam as of the Steam Hardware & Software Survey for October 2025 have crossed over the elusive 3% mark. The trend has been clear for sometime, and with Windows 10 ending support, it was quite likely this was going to be the time for it to happen as more people try out Linux.
As of the October 2025 survey the operating system details:
  • Windows 94.84% -0.75%
  • Linux 3.05% +0.41%
  • macOS 2.11% +0.34%
The snapshot chart from our dedicated Steam Tracker page shows the clear trend:

1139496631762087838gol1.png
Overall, 3% might not seem like much to some, but again - that trend is very clear and equates to millions of people. The last time Valve officially gave a proper monthly active user count was in 2022, and we know Steam has grown a lot since then, but even going by that original number would put monthly active Linux users at well over 4 million. Sadly, Valve have not given out a more recent monthly active user number but it's likely a few million higher, especially with the Steam Deck selling millions.
And if we look at the distribution breakdown chart from our page:

21445529501762087839gol1.png
The overall distribution numbers for October 2025:
  • SteamOS Holo 64 bit - 27.18% (-0.47%)
  • Arch Linux 64 bit - 10.32% (-0.66%)
  • Linux Mint 22.2 64 bit - 6.65% (+6.65%)
  • CachyOS 64 bit - 6.01% (+1.32%)
  • Ubuntu Core 22 64 bit - 4.55% (+0.55%)
  • Freedesktop SDK 25.08 (Flatpak runtime) 64 bit - 4.29% (+4.29%)
  • Bazzite 64 bit - 4.24% (+4.24%)
  • Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS 64 bit - 3.70% (+3.70%)
  • Linux Mint 22.1 64 bit - 2.56% (-5.65%)
  • EndeavourOS Linux 64 bit - 2.32% (-0.08%)
  • Freedesktop SDK 24.08 (Flatpak runtime) 64 bit - 2.31% (-3.98%)
  • Fedora Linux 42 (KDE Plasma Desktop Edition) 64 bit - 2.12% (+0.19%)
  • Manjaro Linux 64 bit - 2.04% (-0.31%)
  • Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS 64 bit - 1.93% (-0.04%)
  • Fedora Linux 42 (Workstation Edition) 64 bit - 1.75% (-0.43%)
  • Other - 18.04% (-4.28%)
The numbers are still being massively pumped up by the Steam Deck with SteamOS Linux, which is not surprising considering that the Steam Deck is still in the top 10 of the global top sellers on Steam constantly. And with all the rumours and leaks surrounding the upcoming Steam Frame, which will hopefully be a SteamOS Linux powered VR kit, we could see the numbers just continue to jump higher.

You're right it was a driver issue that I fixed. But I'm still having other issues and I just don't want to fiddle with it so I might go to windows 10. So my pipeline will be Windows 11> Linux mint> Windows 10.

Enjoy the zero click CVE that won’t get fixed I guess.

I recommend you try different distributions on a VM though while you’re at it. I didn’t and I’ve ran through like ten different distributions until I finally settled on fedora with gnome.

(I really like gnome, bite me)
