OK, the 'debate' is over. Those pushing Wayland adoption are UNQUESTIONABLY in a conspiracy against the adoption of desktop Linux.

Why do I feel entirely justified in saying this? It's pretty simple.
  1. The largest players in pushing adoption of desktop Linux are always large governmental entities, generally in Europe, but sometimes in freer countries like China and the DPRK. These are also some of the best funders of development that actually advances individuals and smaller governments and companies being able to adopt Linux and open source productivity software (like improving OpenOffice/LibreOffice formatting interchangeability with Office).
  2. Those governmental entities are mandated to care about accessibility. For example, for people who don't have 20/20 vision.
  3. KDE and Gnome developers are, as of a few months ago, more than a decade after the Wayland cancer emerged, still adding workarounds for core Wayland problems like 'screen readers not being able to access the window title to tell a blind user what window they're on'.
And these cretins want to get rid of support for X11, which is actually relatively supportive of accessibility features.

Go with Debian if you want a no-nonsense, working system. Fedora if you want the newest version of software, and Arch-based for memes and inevitably broken system.

For the record, this is the third time I say something nobody agrees with and I'm instantly vindicated several pages in.
Guys don't use slackware, use debian it's objectively the best linux distro there is out there.

Linux doesn't need Wayland to get no adoption, it's always had a poor adoption rate and it's not going to get any better ever lmao.

The only way this'd change is if the (good) devs tossed out all the autism from linux and focused more on usability. Clearly Wayland doesn't help this, but apparently guys "it's more private! you can't have keyloggers! so it's bettah!". The cancer that's killing linux isn't /b/ or windows or android, it's the privacyspergs and freetards who control what can or can't be added to the dozens of FOSS garbage linux relies on like keypass, snap, gimp or most other things.
I don't know how to explain this to you guys, but there's a reason people use Adobe and Microsoft office instead of literally anything open source.

I upgraded my computer and needed to rebuild the graphics driver 3 times wondering why multilib wasn't building properly until I remembered I needed to set COMPAT32="yes" in the Slackbuild file. I should update my package maintainer to check for this (it's a pen and paper sitting on my desk)

I don't want to go back digging all the way to find my post. But does anyone know of any ai image generating software that will allow you to create images nazi or offensive stuff?

I dont want to go around trying a bunch wasting time if it wont let me generate what I want.

I want to get some nice linux nazi art. I think its something the world desperately needs right now.

Stable diffusion can do it, it's not great at swastikas. A1111( https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui ) is probably the easiest to get started with.

Decided to try Mint on an Acer Aspire I bought on sale a couple of years ago. Only had 4 GB RAM to use and Brave swallowed up most of it. On Mint it has 42.8 GB. Holy shit. I know I'm a basic bitch but I'm floored at just how much bloatware Windows 11 has.

I'm never going back. Thank you for helping me unfuck my laptop, lads.

As much as I hate Arch and the uptight commies that userbase is infested with in that distro, I have to say CachyOS is not that bad (arch based)

Partially because of the authority it gives them and partially because misery enjoys company.

I did poke my head into how troons are with Linux. They're no different than any other tranny currently ruining any other hobby or fandom. They often have so little meaning or purpose in their lives thanks to the way things are right now that to them being top dog in something like coding is the same as serving your country in war. After all - coming out as "who you really are" is a big thing and should be commended as a noble act of bravery. So when others don't see it the same way, troon decay sets in and drives those who actually do contribute meaningful things out.

Speaking of things troons latch onto without really caring about them - I really want to know how tricky it would be to make a skin for Mint that resembles Windows XP or 98. The ones bundled with Mint don't do it for me and I'm entertaining the idea of crafting one for personal use.
