Lots of retards will just go along with insane trendy ideas, like inverting your penis or Wayland or systemd. They will think up all sorts of nonsense justifications.
A lot of what is supposed to be thinking is just a justification of actions already taken.

Ready to take the Arch + Hyprland pill. Fuck all the dumb shit
So, now you'll have five steering wheels, five pedals, and one dildo. Incredible improvement.

If the designers of X Windows built cars, there would be no fewer than five steering wheels hidden about the cockpit, none of which followed the same principles—but you’d be able to shift gears with your car stereo. Useful feature, that

Hyprland is affiliated with anime, so I fear you may be forsaking the dumb shit for the gay shit.
Btw, Lunduke unironically said he wished Hyprland was made for X11 instead of Wayland (there would be no purpose to using Hyprland if your options were to use any of the thousands of window managers on X11).

Haha, what a ridiculous example!

You misspelled Artix, or if you're TRVLY based, Obarun. HVMANITY MVST take a stand against soystemd cruft and the sooner it gets done, the better.

They must have their heads hit (figuratively or literally) with a stone club.
Based, and exactly why I'm so split between Open vs FreeBSD. I 100% lean more towards Open and their philosophy + implementation, but man, people really sell the dogshit wifi driver angle hard. Suppose compromises must be made one way or the other.

bcachefs dev is being an austitic retard and is gonna reiser his wife soon, likely

dev shows up in the comments and bitches a lot, other maintainers try to explain that he's being an autistic retard, and he keeps flailing

(he wants to add a recovery feature to an rc3 release after the merge window has closed and Linus ain't havin' none of it)

Ok. How about, I declare Patrick Volkerding as my beneficial dictator for life. It will be an x11 Slackware world that will be super stable, unhip, unsexy, and grey bearded

Depends on what you use the drive for, but the trim command only trims recently deleted or modified sectors.
Main activity on SSD now is occasional Firefox writing (not much though), me moving files here and there, and jbd2 doing few hundred KB a minute nonstop. Though fstrim timer is set to weekly there's a daily fstrim operation where a few hundred MB of data is written once a day, every day. Hopefully it's normal and I don't have to change anything.

hyprland is their second window manager. They made hypr before that which was an x11 window manager. They left that behind to make hyprland for wayland. I haven't bothered trying to use hypr, but the general consensus for it. Is hyprland is better.

Anyway. You do have the option to use any of the x11 window managers. Nothing is stopping anyone from doing that.

My point is that Hyprland stands out because it's the best Wayland window manager, nobody would care about it if it was just another X11 window manager.

Is there general goodwill towards suckless tools? dwm was interesting, you have to run the compiler again everytime the configuration is modified. Suckless must be the most conservative software organization around.

I just watched the lunduke, arch and hyprland video.

This is why I really hope people aren't actually taking lunduke seriously almost ever. Not because what he said in this video is actually wrong.

But because what he said in this video is the reality that was their the whole time. While he is spouting all the doomer, and half truth stories.

Seriously. I really do hope people know for anything lunduke says. Take it with a grain of salt. He is a political grifter through and through, to put it simply. He frames things in a more inflammatory way than they really happened to drive engagement and set up more stories from the responses.

For me. The only thing I actually worry about, and it's not anything I have actually seen him say directly. That I can think of. Is the silent push to remove gnu. To me that would be the biggest blow to the foss world. And software freedom from tranny's.

Why are our only options either monk-maxxing or gay-maxxing?

As someone who doesn't like GNU software at all, you might be right. Although, isn't GNU these days also tranny-adjacent?

This is exactly what I was saying a week or so ago when I was talking about them really fucking up when they mentioned diy in the readme by name. He just gave all these weirdos fuel to use against the project. Just such a dumb move for the longevity of the project. I feel like anyone that doesn't understand what i'm saying. has to be a bit delusional about this.

And lunduke in particular made it worse. The only thing he really accomplished is setting the stage for making more videos about woke devs that won't work with the project for political reasons.
Politics, shouldn't be a part of any software project. However, we do live in a democracy and therefore everything is political. When leftists types say that, they are sadly correct. You have to have political opinions on everything and the correct ones at that. If you don't, you are a suspect and are made to take a stand.
I can see the argument for how he shouldn't have mentioned the DEI stuff at all. That plus the Lunduke coverage did set his project down a certain trajectory. At the same time, people would have dug up his mailing list stuff and called him a Nazi anyway. I really hope XLibre succeeded and makes its way into a lost of distros, if only to finally get back on the tract that the usability of the technology itself should triumph over political ideological bullshit. It would be a great example of something cracking past the CoCks and tranny faggots.

do these even work well on linux? i was told these were essentially lacking all of their features and crashing constantly. great things on windows though, apparently.
I got one of the first Arc cards (ASRock A380). I think I had to add a patch, but after that it worked fine with the existing modesetting drivers. At least for just regular stuff, plus mpv and opengl tests. I didn't try to play any games or anything. I'm planning on putting it in another Gentoo box pretty soon.

If Void has a CoC, they've hidden it so well I can't find it. The one troon on the dev team I know of is pretty quiet. Not rushing to package the latest hype that hasn't proven it has legs yet is common sense.
Void actively pushed against Hyprland going into their tree. Creating 3rd party package repos is not easy (they is a 3rd party Hyprland repo that has to constantly rebuild/adjust or it breaks). Their entire Python build system is asinine for the same reason (no multiple python version or upgrade paths. Python packages MUST be in the official tree to not break). The fact that they only have "rolling stable" and no version numbers hurts their entire distro and makes the packaging process riddled with insanity. They push against getting things into their package tree too, saying you should use Flatpak or whatever. I use to really like Void, but runit isn't great and the way the distro is put together kinda pisses me off from a technical standpoint.

Does this guy have an actual software engineering job? I worked with assholes this bad and they either fire that person or I leave and the company fails later (not due to them, but just tons of other bad decisions, including not being able to identify shitty people).

If he wants bcachefs to succeeded, he needs to work entirely on making it a kernel module. Get the deb/rpm/AUR/ebuild packaging down with DKMS so people can have his bleeding edge shit if he wants. Then get some other volunteer to handle the actual kernel part; submitting the correct pieces in the correct window. Honestly for my own use, I wouldn't use anything other than zfs-on-linux today.

It's amazing Lunduke is such a shitty faggot Jew that he can get everyone to hate him. Even when he's right, no one likes the fact that he's saying it. Not having his disgusting soy face in the videos makes them a little more tolerable, but .. not really.

You may have a point about Firefox acting strange. I just had an OOM crash out of nowhere with Isolated Web Co consuming 24 gigs of RAM which seems like a leak to me though I am no expert. Every cultist on Reddit ensures others with this that "RAM is being used for a reason". Nigger, I am watching a fucking video on YouTube in 1080p. It overloaded my swap and I think it must have done it in seconds as it had no way but to just kill the entire process. Apparently the unload tabs isn't on by default and I had to enable it in about config.

I am pretty confident it's not something on my end, all I am using are Arch defaults with zram and those are pretty true and tested. I am not sure what the fuck these asswipes are doing with this browser lately.

You may have a point about Firefox acting strange.
I have reduced Firefox writing to the occasional swap space, saving current browsing history (what URLs I go to), and then there's the occasional "glean" thing even though I disabled that "telemetry" BS, but it's nothing compared to when ~20 MB of "safe browsing" data was auto-downloaded every 20 or 30 minutes from Google (I use uBlock instead).

What are you using to measure this again?
The SMART thing to see TBW and then iotop to see what was doing the hundreds of MB once a day every day. Again, hopefully that fstrim thing is normal and nothing really bad.

If you asked the libreboot dev. They are biggotted transphobes.

I feel like their is this weird false dicotomy. everything isn't either pozzed or based. A lot of people don't care about this stuff.

Gnu cares about software freedom. I wish more projects had that as their main concern.

I don't hate when he says something right. I hate that people actually take him at his word a lot of the time. Because he spins half truths constantly. And pretty blatantly.

It makes right wing people look bad. And he is literally doing the exact opposite of what he claims he wants.
