Slightly tangential but somewhat connected is that Shepherd, Guix's init system, is under consideration for being added to Devuan (
L). I have no idea how they'd get it to work since its so tightly integrated with Guix's declarative system configs. It would either be a gimped version that you'd use as any other init by manually using "sudo herd start <thing>" in cli, or somehow integrate it alongside Guix (the package manager) for declarative handling. But, at that point, it'd be just Guix in a Devuan skin.
There have been other seemingly successful attempts to do it, curious to see if the Devuan people manage to make it work at a similar level as their current offerings.
