The Linux Thread - The Autist's OS of Choice

As Linux becomes more popular, you might see a push by Microslop to tweak Secureboot or find some other way to lock down PC hardware so that it cannot operate without the Windows OS, like Apple did with OSX, essentially making PCs follow the walled garden model. It would be an extreme measure, but I would not be surprised if Microslop does this as one final attempt at lashing out as its stock value continues to plummet and it loses market-share.
I honestly don't think Microshaft has this much of a hold over the OEM sector anymore. Facebook, Google, maybe, but not Microstreetshitters. Not anymore. The manufacturers and distributors bent the knee with Secure Boot, but TPM was already a thing beforehand, and it was as simple as adding a four-pin connector somewhere on the motherboard. No skin off their back. But, considering many distributors already offer Linux pre-installed on PCs and laptops (Chromebooks probably helped that), it's very possible they would all spin off a "Windows Compatible" label of computers, with the implication being that everything else they sell can be used the old fashioned way. Even Nvidia, despite their decades of negligence with Linux, have a tangible reason to actually support their cards on Linux – at least as far as getting them churning out AI slop is concerned. Linux is here to stay, no matter how Macrojeet might shit and scat.

Everything to lock down machines to Windows only was already set up with Secure Boot. They just gave people the choice to disable it and add keys to it.
I don't think Microsoft will force OEMs to lock down typical x86_64 machines to try and stop Linux, but will probably succeed with locking down their ARM machines.

Huh? The most popular ARM machines are made by Apple, and they let you install Asahi Linux on Macs.

Microsoft in particular is was somewhat adverse to pulling this BS, ever since their anti-trust case involving Internet explorer, They're afraid these requirements will trigger another one of these court roundabouts...

That was until they're infested with H1Bs. Now I do not think that they care, and the izzat of being employed by Microslop is enough to make them feel they could get away with anything.

theres still alot of people who play games that need a kernel anticheat, like LoL, valorant, etc, theres also many people who are simply convinced that linux is only for 1337 haxxors and you need to write 2619 lines of codes just to install a browser and most of them arent too keen on atleast trying linux

Libreboot will be prospering like never before, but they won't do shit anyway

Just let shitty and insecure x11 die right with this snca slopfork and switch to wayland, stop coping and dividing the linux community even more
The way KDE screen capture works is it literally bypasses the "security" mechanisms of Wayland. Xlibre is already more secure then Wayland, especially coupled with a DE that takes advantage of Xnamespaces such as SonicDE

Don't use DEs if you actually care about the security and purity of your system. If you can bypass permissions on e.g. hyprland, then you definitely should highlight the issue and contribute to open source to make the new standard wayland becoming right now even better; you won't escape from it anyway

No goy you cant use a DE, you must use a TWM goy! Anyways heres about 20 other applications that haven't had a update in 3 years written by chinks and jeets in python in order to get back what you lose by not using a DE, but its so much better!

Why should I bother with dogshit, broken crap from Red Hat when I can just go to artixlinux.org, roll a dice on what iso to download, and have functional, superior software that actually work and does what I want right out of the box?

You mean like the recent proposal of having GRUB gimped (LVM,LUKS,...)

If you care about the purity of your system, you should be using TempleOS.
templeos doesn't allow you to setup a declarative and immutable system, unlike nixos

systemd is too much integrated into the linux ecosystem and fartix will eventually break with another docker update, just give up, goyim

I really wish midi support under linux was much better because even tho the format is old af its still a very good format.
one thing that has luckily been addressed is playing old games that used midi but are using dosbox or whatever for emulation, like the steam release of star wars dark forces
it used to be midi just didnt fuckin work in proton, so youd use a patched version of proton to get timidity and freepats or whatever going. problem is freepats sounds like garbage and nobody really made soundfonts compatible with timidity as it used loose files with complex configuration instead of the sf2 format like fluidsynth
something changed and proton updated and now midis work fine but that was a thing for a bit

This nigger's first post was autistic tard-screeching about getting banned from the sharty.
I was banned only on the shitty for a rule 7 bait, the post was something like "should I kms?" You should stop coming up with shit that's never happened

And kikefag didn't actually permaban me, she clitty leaked because I wiped the inty with our secret chat link and nuked my post. Thus, I decided that this dnb shithole isn't worth my attention anymore
Graduating to Reddit would be an improvement.
