This is pretty chill, no-one's voice is grating and it's a good start. But it'd be hard to know enough about every cow on this forum to make a decent episode if you want to explain it to people who want to know more, you should try and get a guest in every episode where you think you might not know enough. You could quiz them and they could describe the cow to you guys, that way they describe it in a way where they're trying to teach you about them - which would be more applicable to the audience that wants to learn about the cow.

Good stuff, I'll keep listening for sure.

This is very true, and something @Frank Rizzo and I have discussed at length.

For a couple episodes we want to record with just the two of us to "get our stride," as it were, and it's a good thing it's two lolcows I have a lot of experience with. It will make it easier to start off. The guesting is a fantastic idea and something we plan to do once we're totes best broheims.

I'm loving how you guys are putting some real effort into this and I can't wait for the next episode.
If you need someone with a bad accent and are supposed to be saying "what?" all the time, count on me.
 
To be perfectly honest, I'm trying to find a service that will let people text chat as well as call in. I may be semi-competent at post-editing, but when it comes to call-in... christ, I'm useless.

(blogtalkradio doesn't count, since it's honestly a bitch unless you pay for it)

Edit: Vocal and chat livestreaming will have to wait until the first episode since, honestly, I can't get any services to work on-the-fly. Sorry, Kiwis. :sad:

My thoughts:

The sound of the surf makes the opening monologue a little difficult to hear in places.

Both speakers have good, radio-y voices. A good microphone would really enhance the effect.

I wonder to what extent this is targeted toward the world outside of the Kiwi Farms.

This is very helpful. I use GarageBand (I have an older version of Logic Pro, but, ironically GB has superseded it in terms of features) but can really only go by three audio "points" (my laptop speakers, my audio interface with studio headphones, and some earbuds). Outside views are really appreciated. Knowing where to tweak the volume is important to me.

The only problem with that ends up being distance... I'm in the midwest and Frank is on the east coast, so we're still "feeling out" a way to get the best quality on both sides. I called dibs because I'm the one doing the recording and editing. :P I'm also still learning how to get the Skype-side audio to sound better, EQ and compression-wise.

Hey, maybe I could be the "Wacky Sound Board" Operator, who's job is to run the sound effects board and occasionally yell incoherent Authentic Mountain Man Gibberish, ala The Engineer from True Capatalist Radio.
