You know more about what you're doing than I do, but I thought I'd suggest that you put the time into editing after recording each show. That live feel is nice for livestreams and such, but if it's something people are downloading to listen to it's much better to have things slick and polished.

Yep, that's the goal and why we're doing it either monthly or bi-monthly.

I don't want to be a debbie downer with the guesting, but @WanderingVagabond brought up a good point. I don't know if you guys are familiar with The F Plus, but if you are you know that they tend to have at least 5 guests on... what @Frank Rizzo and I want to do is the two of us and then only one guest at a time, since otherwise it'll become a clusterfuck. We're still figuring out how to best do it.

If you guys figured that already, then feel free to tell me I'm a dumbfuck. :tomgirl:

I don't mind the podcast. If you want to be F Plus 2.0 that's cool. Think of it as digging deeper into Internet Hell. The F Plus have other people find things for them as well. We do the research ourselves.

EDIT: What @Rammspieler mentioned, I would be a guest on the podcast if I had a microphone. :/

Oh, I didn't mean to come off saying helping out with research was a bad thing at all! That is something we're going to need help with, otherwise a few episodes in @Frank Rizzo and I will be found dead in our apartments with the cause of death being "lolcow overdose." Help is sincerely appreciated... I probably worded that post all wrong.

(Everyone gets graciously rewarded with fine craft beer)

Question: can I guest star in an episode?
You're blacklisted due to FCC regulations. Which is odd, since the FCC doesn't even have jurisdiction over us...

As a podcast junkie, I am all over this.

A few questions for @flossman:
1) Would you consider hosting on libsyn or podbean? From what I've seen, they're pretty decent hosts, but they do charge $5 a month.
2) Do you have anyone on board who can do audio cleanup/balancing?
3) Is this going to be a general discussion format, or more of a call-in kind of deal?

Edit: I second @Handsome Pete below as far as having at least an RSS feed. They really go a long way (plus I believe that's the only requirement to put a podcast on iTunes)

@flossman, if you're talking about hosting: as long as you've got some place to stick an RSS feed, then archive.org (yes, that archive.org) lets you upload as much audio as you want for free, and link to it from anywhere. I have no idea if it's any good because I don't really understand audio... stuff... but free is free.

Wow, super excited! I love podcasts because I don't really have time to sit down and read whole threads/encyclopedia dramatica pages, but I can get away with listening to podcasts as I work.
If anybody else is like me this would make catching up a lot easier! :heart-full:

1) I've used podbean in the past, and I've had good experiences. That's one of our options.
2) I'm going to be handling the cleanup/balancing/editing. Don't go by most of the stuff on my tindeck... that wasn't edited. :P
3) General discussion. Maybe once in a while we can try doing a call-in or more of a freeform-style show for kicks.

(Don't worry, haven't forgotten about this venture. I've been putting together a teaser.)

If you're worried about this becoming the F Plus 2.0, I don't think that will be a problem, unless you plan to read out all of the lolcows posts while voice acting. (If I recall correctly, The F Plus generally tries to avoid episodes on specific people now, iirc) Wont it be more of an overview on the lolcow and commentary?

That said, I am very much looking forward to Pixyteri and Vade.

You poor soul.

Okay, just posting to put up a pre-teaser, since some things came up that delayed the actual teaser. I'm also updating the OP with this. Thank you guys so much for your patience.

I should also never be allowed to play around with vocal effects.
