Sorry for double posting but the Heat menaged to avoid the humililation of being beaten by the Celtics and they'll go against Denver in the finals.
Well congratulations Denver.

I wonder if sports media is going to focus on the Jokic vs Jovic thing.

I have to give credit where credit is due — as someone that wanted to see Nikola Jokic get drafted to the Knicks back in 2015, he is singlehandedly going to change the NBA, mainly due to the fact that he is making the PF/C position fun to play again.

Between him and Giannis Antetukoumpo, it is nice to see some great European athletes making the American athletes work even more than before.

A guy like Jokic with 2 NBA MVPs in his position doesn't come around as much as one would think.

ScooterMagruder (A sports youtuber with is a Orlando Magic fan with a notoriously bad bias for other teams like the Dallas Cowboys) actually said in a podcast video that prime Dwight Howard was better than Jokic, "Jokic can't guard prime Howard''. and stuff like that

I have never seen an athlete so thoroughly whelmed at winning a championship as Jokic last night. "The job is done. Now we go home" was fucking iconic.

2023 NBA Draft is on tonight, and all I can only hope for is Victor Wembanyama to be a much better version of Manute Bol and not another draft bust that will have a "What if...?" storyline in the next few and a half years.

Either way, I hope Spurs fans prepare themselves accordingly in the near future.

Sorry if someone else already mentioned it, but looks like some investment company from Qatar is interested to the Wizards and Capitals.

The NBA, NHL and WNBA are on the precipice of being the first North American professional sports leagues to receive an investment from a sovereign wealth fund. The Qatari Investment Authority, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, is close to buying a stake in Monumental Sports and Entertainment, the parent company of the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, and Washington Mystics, sources briefed on the deal told The Athletic.
It’s a small stake, according to a person briefed on the matter. The deal valued Monumental at roughly $4 billion. Monumental’s portfolio also includes Capital One Arena and its new RSN, Monumental Sports Network.
“In November 2022, the NBA Board of Governors decided to permit passive, non-controlling, minority investments in NBA teams by institutional investors, including university endowments, foreign and domestic pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds, subject to a set of policy guidelines adopted at that time,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said in a statement to The Athletic. “All such investments require league review, NBA Board approval and compliance with the policy.

I don't think NBA gets as weird with player bounties to take someone out of the season like the NFL does, but, uh...

This dude looks like you could kinda flop after contact and "accidentally" break any joint you wanted.

I'm sure we're all following, but Marcus Smart has been traded from the Boston Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies. I've watched Marcus since college, I can tell you since he came to Boston and shown his grit/defensive mentality, the city has bought into him. This trade hurts to see, as a Boston fan, there are rumors Marcus didn't even know about the trade and he's heartbroken about it. The interviews he gave and talked with everyone across the league seemed like he wanted to be a lifer and it sucks. Other players are saying that first trades just numb you for later ones and make you jaded.

Chris Paul who was traded from Phoenix to Washington, is now being traded from Washington to Golden State in return for Jordan Poole. As someone who likes Chris Paul a lot, this is good as it puts him with a VERY well built team. This also shows how GS treats their players. Remember the beginning of last season with the footage of Poole being assaulted by Green? Now remember that Green is a free agent right now. I would absolutley believe Green went to negotiate his resign and said, he'd only stay if Poole was gone. Now GS has Curry, Green, Thompson and Chris Paul. GS is still scary and it just comes down to how the rest of the West adjusts to them.

I wonder if that trade will jinx the Celtics like "the curse of the Bambino" had cursed the Red Sox?

Adam Silver needs to fuck off with his gimmick bullshit.

What’s the point of this?

Dumb gimmick bullshit that'll get a superstar hurt. Anytime you take an idea from Bill Simmons and put it into reality, you have a bad time.
It's going to be some of the worst pro basketball we'll ever watch. The effort will be at All-Star Game levels in order to avoid injuries and league penalties for resting guys.

The early regular season is a slog, but this won't make it any better.
