Throw back to the time Jae Crowder accidentally hit what would have been the longest shot in NBA history had it not been an inbound pass:
It's like when they moved the extra point line back in Football, there was a decrease in percentage made initially which then went away over time. The WNBA would go through a couple painful years of shooting as girls got used to the new rim height but eventually they would pick it up and things would go back to normal with the added bonus of them now being able to dunk consistently.The issue with the rims is more an infrastructural ones, because girls wouldn't grow up shooting on lowered rims especially in low income areas. Adjustable rims are omnipresent at college level and up, sure, and it's unlikely any random rim out on a streetball court is at exactly 10 feet to begin with, but it does cause some weirdness in AAU and High School.
