LeBron always gasses himself out in the first half these days. His stats are still impressive but he does fuck all in the fourth quarter. Nuggets will sweep.

Also Embiid doesn't catch nearly enough flak for being as heavy as he is. Zion gets raked over the coals (justifiably) for being overweight but Embiid with his never-ending list of injuries can be nearly 300 lbs at all times? He needs to cut his weight like Dwight Howard did later in his career. Knicks in 6 because I predict Embiid will miss games.

Embiid thinks he's a 6'3" guard. If he kept his feet on the floor and didn't flop around so much he wouldn't be hurt constantly.

Embiid's injury problems are probably a mix of the flopping, trying to play as a mega wing, improper landing from all the jumping, and just plain old bad luck. It's not like the dude's flabby the way Zion was, and other current players (Jokic) and historical players (Barkley, Shaq, Yao, Heat LeBron, Wilt Chamberlain, probably Karl Malone and Dwight Howard at some point) have played in the 270+ range and been good. It's not completely impossible. Though with all of those there's caveats. Jokic doesn't jump much, which is how you accrue the most injuries. Barkley was overweight when he was playing above 255. Yao got hurt all the time, though a lot of the blame for this is on how he had to pull double duty in China. And Shaq, LeBron, Wilt, Malone and Dwight are all extreme outliers physically even among their fellow professional athletes and even here LeBron was at the lower end of things at 275ish. Shaq's also discussed how he'd been overweight and that shortened his prime, LeBron didn't stay at 275 indefinitely, and Karl Malone and Dwight Howard were technically never "officially" this heavy, so you can prune things down to literally just Wilt Chamberlain of all people. Not exactly the easiest guy to emulate.

The big issue with Embiid is that playing as a mega wing is why he's so good, but it's clearly not sustainable for him. Players heavily reliant on their athleticism are already at a greater risk for a sharp drop off when they age or get injured, just look at someone like Jeremy Lin or imagine if LeBron didn't have his playmaking and court reading skills. If Embiid plays less crazy he'll last a little longer, but he won't be able to be an MVP challenger and it seems he cares a whole lot about stuff like that. It also might just be too late at this point; he's been injury prone forever and at this point he's 30. There's a good chance that the chronic injuries ravage him even if he chills out, which would just be bad luck. He could at least stop throwing himself to the ground to sell contact and learn to land on two feet though. No harm in putting those into practice.

This highlight posted to reddit really is just emblematic of his whole career. Eye catching feat followed by instantly getting too hurt to move. Don't know how to rip reddit videos, unfortunately.

He should've enrolled in Judo or something to learn how to fall safely if he was going to flop so much. He's always landing on his elbow or hip.

Yeah, some athletes are just naturally made of glass but Embiid seems to bring a lot of problems on his own damn self.

I want LeBron to fail. Even the reddit (both regular NBA and NBA shitposting) are calling Bron's shit as LeBrontism (a portmanteau of LeBron and nepotism), not to mention his massive fucking ego that he thinks he's hot shit. The most dedicated NBA fans haven't forgotten that he apologized to China following the NBA-CCP scandal few years ago.

I'm not a huge LeBron hater but I will hold onto the idea that he cost the Lakers a second championship a few years ago when he went out and got Westbrook all the other trades they made to appease him

Not like it matters anyway. Once Kobe and Pau Gasol retired, the Lakers haven't been the same. Shit you could say the same once Karim Abdul-Jabar was gone. Lakers are a walking corpse.

I saw a video today talking about how the Lakers have essentially wasted the end of LeBron's career. Think about it. Their roster is poorly constructed aside from LeBron, and despite him playing at a very high level for the 6 years he's been there the only ring he got was a complete fluke in the bubble that most people don't even take seriously (it's also the only reason why he's still in LA).

LeBron is the reason LeBron has wasted the twilight of his career.

Dude is worse at constructing a team than Danny Ferry and Michael Jordan combined.
I dunno about that man, those early 2010's Bobcats were goddamn awful, and became awful almost immediately after Mike bought the team.

It's not like it's just LeBron either. Steph's warriors didn't even make the playoffs (and Chris Paul is on this team too, for extra age), KD's looking like he's going to get swept by the Timberwolves, the Kawhi/Paul George/James Harden/Russell Westbrook Clippers are currently down 2-1 against the Mavericks, though that one I can at least say could still be competitive, and of course the Lakers are about to get swept by the Nuggets. It might just be that time where the old guard gets power crept by younger up and comers.

LeBron's team is shit because he refuses to defer to AD (who is too much of a pussy to make an issue of it), insists the offense runs through him, and he is 40 fucking years old and can't play defense anymore. Nobody wants to have father time cucking them into a glorified bench warmer role so his teammates get worse when they play with him. The Lakers are a total dead end and everyone can feel it. When LeBron retires they're going to implode just like they did with Kobe.

Also, looks like the Clippers are cooked. It amazes me how no matter how mediocre the Lakers get, the Clippers manage to get as bad or worse. Lolcow franchise.

Even in the NBA, Los Angeles, California can't stop being the worst at everything:
>Lakers are a shell and LeBron is wasting it even further
>Clippers has an all-star cast yet they go full-retard in playoffs
>Sacrame.. wut?

The suns are incredibly top heavy money-wise, they have no rebounding or size, and, unlike teams like the Thunder who also struggle with that, they don’t have defensive anchors to make up for it. They also sold off Chris Paul for Bradley Beal and in the process got rid of someone who would’ve vastly fixed an issue on their offense, that being a lack of a true point guard. Golden State just feel victim to Father Time. If you go over the reasons why they’ve struggled so much it isn’t even because of some major change or loss in the lineup since 2022, it’s just because those core 3 guys got old (especially Klay and Draymond) and just couldn’t do what they used to,

The difference is when Kobe retired they had some good young pieces like Ball, Ingram, Randle, Caruso and even Kuzma who all got thrown to the wolves or left in FA after LeBron got there and started calling the shots. They were far from great but they were in a situation kind of like Portland now where even though the team was complete shit there was promise that a few of those darts might hit. Instead they have two good players and a mishmash of role players who don’t fit together, with those two good players both likely gone very soon.

The Clippers are imploding when it matters the most. Watching Westbrook last night was genuinely painful. He played 19 minutes and had the same amount of ejections as points (while shooting 0-7). I’m fully expecting them to lose in 5 entirely by just tripping over their own feet.
