The Clippers seem to totally depend on their stars making tough shots to generate offence. If anyone goes cold - and all their stars are notorious for that - they're fucked, that's why they underperform in the playoffs.

Nice win for the Twolves also, I had zero faith in them but they seem to be tougher than I thought.

The NBA really must panicking though. Current crop of stars are mostly old, crazy, actively hated or don't give a fuck about the media. They'll have to pick someone as the next face and push him. Bet they wish Reaves was 10x better than he is.
 
It feels like part of the reason for the hate Tatum and Booker get is how the league tried to push them while they didn't have that kind of organic respect from players and fans yet. People reacted poorly to the astroturfing, particularly all the Kobe comparisons, on top of all the preexisting reasons people aren't going crazy for those guys.

Not repeating my long post on the issue but my prediction for their best shot at an American face is Anthony Edwards, though the abortion stuff is too memed (Send da video, hell nawl can't do dis) to be buried the way the homophobia can be.

Yet they're apparently in line for a huge increase in broadcast rights from NBC (replacing TNT/Warner) as well double the shekels from ESPN/Disney. I don't get it.

I pay zero attention to the regular season, and barely glance at the playoffs these days. Maybe just point and laugh at ESPN commentators deepthroating LeBron for the billionth time or that weird "in season" tournament they did. I can' t imagine I'm alone.

Current day commentators are the lowest form of jobs same as journalists. Even E-sports commentators of today are garbage compared to pre 2014-2016 era.

Live sports are the best way for companies to ensure people actually consume their ads in the post streaming takeover world. I watched the end of Sixers-Knicks last night and there had to be 2 minutes of commericals for every minute of game clock at some points. It doesn't help that TNT sells a ton of time to the same few companies to run the same few commercials over and over again. Less of a problem for Magic-Cavs because no one gives a shit about that series and it was on NBA TV.
