I think NBA fans were more casual than NFL. Boomers love their football and their identities are built around which NFL team they root for. NBA not so much. It seems they can and did realize they could live without NBA nigs but not their beloved football.

In the nba when your favorite player retires you it ruins it for you look at the bulls when mj was there to bulls fans now. Plus the nfl may be qb ruled but no one player can make or break a team whereas the nba when lebitch left the cavs they were ass for a few years

I dont know what would be difficult to understand about the NBA cup... they slotted the playoffs between the Christmas games and the beginning of the season, when interest drop. You section the season between Beginning - NBA Cup - Christmas Games - All Star Break - End of the Reg Season, 2 months apart almost to the T between all these marks.

The first quarters game (Magic@Bucks) must be one of the worst I´ve ever seen,

The Trae Young-Knicks thing is a bit overblown imo. Trae is 11-15 all time against the Knicks including playoffs. Even just last ten games, he’s just 5-5.

The Celtics play like an optimized version of those mid major teams (and recently Alabama) in college basketball that chuck up a million threes and hope to win. The difference is the shots are a lot better quality and so are the players. The Celtics also play defense. That type of offense can be really boring on either end of the extremes, where the team either shoots themselves out of the game or it’s a blowout. The volume this season from the Celtics is also absurd, being six more attempts per game than the previous season high set by the Hitler Rockets in 2018-2019. Also, eight more attempts than the second place team this season, the Bulls, who would be fourth highest all time in attempts per game.
 
The NBA cup reminds me of when I use to read Bill Simmons and he threw out the idea of a in season tournament to make the NBA more interesting, he called it the "entertaining as hell tournament". We tried it Bill, its not entertaining as hell, it sucks.

One guy vlogged about Lebron leaving basketball for "personnal reasons". Some Youtubers commented then it might be related to P.Diddy.

I honestly find it hard to believe LeBron is wrapped up in the Puff Daddy scandal. 21 years in the public eye and he has never had so much as a speeding ticket. The "ain't no party like a Diddy party" comment is classic LeBron cringe, trying to say something cool when he actually has no idea what he's talking about.

More likely he is in Miami getting his blood regenerated or whatever it is that they do at those clinics.

Clips like this on social media are the only way I somewhat keep up with the NBA. A lot of time, people complain about the refs, rightfully so. The NBA is in a weird place right now.

EDIT: Now I'm flooded with "why is the NBA bad now" type of videos on Youtube.

I was wondering how they'd treat Dwight's stint in Taiwan, guess it's not being held against him for eligibility purposes. Dwight often had trouble with the media but I think he'll manage to get in first ballot, Carmelo too. Gasol I think gets in eventually but I don't predict a 1st ballot win. His international stuff helps him a lot, but with a weaker direct resume and more of a reputation as a defensive specialist I wouldn't be surprised if he's kept off for this next cycle and used to fill in for a slow year. I can't say I know a ton about the WNBA but from what I've heard Sue Bird and Maya Moore are no brainers.
 
I wouldn't consider Amare Stoudemire and Marc Gasol hall of famers, but the bar definitely is not as high as it used to be. Stoudemire is pretty close but doesn't have any serious accolades to his name. Gasol was the league's best center during a time when there were very few good centers in the NBA. I'd like to see Zach Randolph in the HoF before Gasol.

Dwight and Carmelo on the other hand should definitely be first ballot HoF'ers, especially Dwight. It would be a nice moment of redemption after he got left off the 75 Greatest Players list. I was never a big Carmelo fan but he was probably the second best scorer in the NBA for quite a few years. People forget the 2009 Nuggets made it to game 6 of the WCF against the Lakers.
