This makes what the Mavs got so much worse. NBA should have stepped in and told Nico NO.

That would require Adam Silver not be an ineffectual bitch or not be in on the plot. Still a little stunned by the trade. I hardly watch the NBA anymore, but Luka had me hooked watching the western conference playoffs last year. Like others said there must be backroom deals involved.

The NBA gets a superstar in LA just as LeBron is retiring, LA gets Luka, the Adelsons get out of paying Luka the supermax and are free to run the franchise into the ground before taking it to Vegas. The Mavs GM gets something out of it for taking the fall and looking like a dumbass.

Fox to the Spurs is bigger in my opinion than Luka to the Lakers. I think the Spurs going forward are now in position to contend for multiple championships.

Why is it always the same fucking teams winning in the NBA? Don't NBA GMs ever think, "fuck that team, they have had enough success. I'm going to trade my superstar player to Charlotte!"

Jimmy Butler's going to the Warriors.

Heat get:
Andrew Wiggins
Kyle Anderson
2025 top 10 protected pick
PJ Tucker (from Utah)

Jazz get:
Dennis Schroder

Pistons get:
Lindy Waters III
Josh Richardson

Seems like by losing Wiggins and Schroeder the Warriors do not really get any better through this trade. Very lateral move. The Heat on the other hand probably get slightly better if Wiggins decides to actually give a shit.

Apparently the skills challenge doesn't have a time penalty for missed shots, so Chris Paul figured that it was faster for him and Wemby to just chuck all three without even trying to hit. Alas, the league decided to plant their No Fun Allowed sign and disqualified them and didn't even let them get interviewed. Must have pissed the gamblers off or something lol

It was bullshit what they did. I get that it's supposed to be one of those "just for fun" things, but don't be douchebags and try to skirt the rules.

I am a Dallas Mavericks fan, so this trade is sad to see. I just recently got back into the NBA, and my mind is blown by how lopsided this trade was. I like Anthony Davis, but this is like trading LeBron James for Anthony Davis. I thought they got Kyrie Irving with the trade, but nope, they just got Anthony Davis and a 1st round pick 4 years into the future! This comes after Luka led them to the NBA Finals; this is one of the worst trades in NBA history.

Just know the fact that USA’s hockey team managed to get three fights in the first nine seconds against Canada’s hockey team in their tournament while completelt overshadowing the NBA ALL-STAR Weekend events is proof that you know NBA’s ratings are basement dwelling.

Not even Mac McClung winning his third Dunk Contest championship can save it.

Adam Silver has been such an awful commissioner that I miss the Jew that was David Stern.

Were at a point where wwe can overtake the nba. Hell poker tournaments at this point will prolly outdraw them. They thought Luka to the Lakers would save the season but it caused more people to not watch

I'll die on the hill that trading Luka was the right call the Mavericks just could have gotten more. Watching him now compared to his rooke and bubble years is striking. He really is fat and incredibly slow and can't get to the rim anymore. If his stepbacks stop falling and teams realize they don't need to blitz on the perimeter, he'll be useless.
