2025 Hall of Fame inductees have been released.

The inductees are the 2008 Olympic team (meaning LeBron and Chris Paul are technically in the hall of fame while they're still playing), Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles, Maya Moore, Billy Donovan (coach), Danny Crawford (ref) and Mickey Arison (owner of the Heat). I honestly thought they might snub Dwight for a year or two because the media didn't really like him, but it seems they weren't that petty in the end.

Sorry if that article might not fit that thread but Mark Cuban, the current owner of the Dallas Mavericks said what he think about the trans athletes.

Dallas Mavericks Minority Owner feels that “people just aren’t ready” to embrace the idea of men competing in women’s sports.

During an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on Friday, Cuban stressed that allowing transgender athletes to play against women is not something that should be “pushed down people’s throats.”

“To make it a national issue so that if you weren’t supporting the fewer than 10 trans athletes in the NCAA, then you weren’t a good person. People just aren’t ready for that yet. You’ve got to meet people where they are,” Cuban said. “It takes time, you can’t just force it down people’s throats.”

Cuban added, “Instead of trying to get where the people who are being disadvantaged and being discriminated against are helped, they wanted to make it a campaign issue. Focus on helping the people, not using them to campaign.”

The American public mirrors Cubans’ feelings on the subject.

A recent New York Times/Ipsos survey in January found that the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, oppose allowing males to compete against females.

It feels like at this point the TQ in sports has been answered. At the end of the day no matter what copes sciencecucks put out trannies just don't pass the eye test. No casual enjoyer of sports is ever going to like watching women get dunked or smashed by true and honest womxn...

Nuggets fired Mike Malone. I don't know who the fuck they think they will get who's better.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but Dwights prime was insane. I know people love comparing him with Shaq, but I'd pay great money to see prime Shaq and prime Dwight play. Snubbing him at all from the HoF would be a crime. The only people you can say are better than him at center are also players you would consider in a goat debate, namely Kareem, Hakeem, and Shaq.

Dwight fucks trannies. And he was fat and ate candy

Nowhere near HOF status

It's not like being bisexual disqualifies you from the hall of fame. I think Sho'nuff may be gassing Dwight up a bit too much but I also don't think there should really be any question about him going first ballot. When you sit down and start to list out the best centers, you hit Dwight a lot better than you'd think.

Starting with the general consensus top 5 in no particular order; Wilt, Bill, Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq. Tim Duncan is in this echelon if you call him a center, let's do that just to be as pessimistic as possible. Next tier down we've got Jokic, Moses, Robinson, Ewing... And then past that, I think it just kinda is Dwight. That has him as what, the 11th best at the league's most stacked position historically? 8x All-NBA 3x DPOY and multiple high finishes in MVP voting isn't really a weak resume.

As far as the Malone firing goes, I feel like they wanted to can Calvin Booth and Malone was a casualty of that because they didn't want to make it seem like the head coach had "won" against the GM. I'm less confused that it happened at all and more confused about the timing, why not just wait and do it in the off-season? Are they worried about some sudden Jokic carry job that makes Malone seem too hard to fire?

Even if he is a reprobate nigger he should be free to celebrate how he pleases.

If I was a pro whatever, golfer/NBA player/baseball, I'd eat a ton of fines doing the shooter McGavin hands rather than stop. Short of an actual playing suspension I wouldn't care.

And with the win last night over the Raptors the Detroit Pistons have clinched a spot in the NBA playoffs proper, not just a spot in the play-in. Completing one of the most miraculous 2 year turn arounds in NBA history. I honestly cannot stress enough how bad and unwatchable the pistons were last year. This really is a miracle.
Miss Lindy on the Thunder. But it is nice seeing Okie State peeps play on the same team, just need Marcus Smart.

I caught some of Warriors vs Grizzlies and from what I could tell the refs weren't even super biased towards one team in particular but just... generically bad. Hopefully that crew isn't slated to do too much more these playoffs, or at the very least this was just an off night for them. Refs fans were eating good tonight.

I have hated Ja Morant since day 1 because his name is JA. What the fuck even is that?

Anyway, glad to see the Grizzlies (lolcow franchise) have managed to limbo under the bar again and find themselves battling for the coveted #8 seed and an opportunity to have their shit pushed in by the Thunder.

The play-in tournament has run its course, all it is now is an irritating delay to the onset of playoffs. Especially in the East where sub-.500 teams are fighting for the chance to be swept in the first round.

I hate the play in, especially the 7th seed getting sucked in to it. If you want to have the 9 and 10 play for a chance to play the 8th, then do that. But pulling the 7th in is retarded. The whole thing is retarded, but the current format is the worst. It's should be non playoff teams playing for 1 playoff spot, not 2 playoff teams defending their positions, especially considering you can get injuries and what not and knock otherwise healthy teams from the playoffs.

Feels like the Bulls are going to come back into it

Just as I say that they give away like 4 bad turnovers in a couple minutes. The experience difference is showing.

The NBA should get rid of these stupid ass Play-In games. Nobody cares about two garbage "9th" and "10th" seed teams fighting for a spot. The regular season is long and enough games are played that if you miss out on the playoffs, tough shit. I'd go even further and say that any team with a losing record should not be allowed into the playoffs, and the team they were supposed to play automatically advances to the second round. That way the 1 and potentially 2 seeds have an extra benefit.

Isn't it mostly a way to try and stop some late season tanking both by motivating people to not hit the 8 and 7 seeds and to motivate some of the bad teams to try to slip in at 10? From what I can tell it has worked on that front, though I can't really think of any play-in team that was really worth caring about besides the 2023 Heat.

Anyways, the Mavs-Grizzlies series clearly proves Nico Harrison correct. Defense wins championships, this is why the Orlando Magic are the championship favorites and the Dallas Mavericks will see them in the ECF. Oh wait. The Thunder, Celtics, and Cavs are all good defensively, at least.

I think it is just a shameless attempt to cram a few more games in, like the in-season tournament.

Every game played represents revenue for the NBA, both teams and the arena the game is played in - hence why people who want the regular season to be cut down are living in fantasy land
