Birmingham AL just finished a stadium for a no name league. This is like the 5th or 6 attempt at bringing a pro team to Birmingham. The point is, in Alabama most people there don't care about pro football. Having the #1 college team in the nation on the regular is enough. It's SEC or GTFO. That and it's Alabama, most of the country doesn't give a shit anyway.
Technically, it was built for UAB because Legion Field is an old piece of shit.

It's a bit early, but what do we think about next year's USFL relaunch? Did you even know it was happening?

Here's the basics I've picked up from some cursory research; Eight teams from around the country in two divisions, but all games will be played in Huntsville, making the city associations with the teams completely useless. Ten regular-season games, two semi-finals involving the top two teams from each division, then the championship game. Starts in April, so no kick-off on the weekend after the Super Bowl like we got with XFL '20. The league is basically owned by Fox, but some games will be shown on NBC properties.

There aren't any details on any rule differences from the NFL yet. Seeing as how I feel the XFL's rule changes, particularly the double forward pass and the PAT changes, led to some interesting differences in play without leaving the game unrecognizable, I hope they do mix things up at least a little bit in that regard.
I miss the AAF ☹️

Baker Mayfield confirmed out for today with the Kung Flu. I'm glad he's calling out the contradicting rule though.

Give him another year, and he's sure to reach Jay Cutler's level of No Fucks Given.

Bears have like 20 players and coaches out today. So of course they're going to snu-snu the Vikings.
He's passed Cutler and is just trailing Trevor Bauer. :story:

Kinda like Cleveland has the Browns, Cincinnati has the Bengals and Columbus has the Buckeyes? The three pro teams in Ohio. 😐

PS: What about Auburn? Do they suck now or something? I'm not into CFB at all.

Ugh the Seahawks probably deserve our first losing season in forever, but having it come at the hands of Goodell's usual favoritism bullshit towards big market teams re: delaying the game, and pretty blatant refball still sucks.
Seriously though, having your most consistent, reliable player be the punter is never a good point for a team to be at.

As a Bears fan, standing next to you with the noose around our necks:

"First time?"

How did you guys do in your fantasy leagues this year?
I lost out of playoffs in an ESPN PPR league because Henry's knees asplode...
I squeaked into a playoffs in a sleeper(platform) league, did I fulfill the prophecy of honoring the "dream team" 10th anniversary going 7-7 bros?
1 seed for the second year in my league of record.
5 seed in my old farts league, playing for pride and beating the commish after losing in the first round.

Auburn is ranked #49--they're going to a bowl but they haven't replicated their top tier success since Newton.

I'm fine with watching football all year. Hopefully the new whatever league isn't too boring.

Brady has always had the luxury of excellent receivers and of course, the New England defense for so many years. Take that away and he's still good, but not at the worship level the press has put him on. The sports press cult surrounding him is creepy.

There's no hope for my team to go past the wild card, if they even get there, so I hope this is Rodgers year.

Didn't watch much of the game, but from what the stats tell me is that the Browns for some reason decided to lean towards passing the ball more where there was about a 25% chance of something bad happening each drop back instead of the running game that averages nearly a first down per carry.

Murray is a moron and the announcers are confused about why he isn’t winning more. Look at the 5 minute drill and how he throws check down after check down, burning all their time outs… dumb

e: let’s talk about the safety. You could either have a safety or let it be a TD for the colts. He just chucked up a ball that was a guaranteed safety and potential TD - worst case scenario for the Cards, he’s lucky it ended up as what that okay started as.

e2: and he’s wanted time to where it’s a 2 score game but he has no time outs and has less than a minute… pathetic planning

Hoping Chicago gets a cheap win over the shitty Seahawks but they never play well in Seattle so we will see.

It's a snowy field and you guys have more experience in snow than we do, that's for sure. I predict an overall embarrassing lose-off for both teams.
At least I got to watch the Cards continue to self-destruct last night.

Buffalo leads the AFC East again. The hoodie is in shambles as everyone questions if there's any good football team in the AFC.

Fuck everyone for letting the Chiefs win the conference again. Fuck the Chargers for being an embarrassment. Joe Burrow might be the only hope in the playoffs.

Nick Foles coming back and winning that game on the unlikeliest of 2 point conversions. I'm so sorry you have to witness your team in this state @Absolutego :story:
