The Panthers have found their QB but at what cost? they have no weapons besides one 33-year-old receiver who's only good for possession downs rather than yards after the catch. The panthers are truly fucked and I hope that Bryce young doesn't lose faith in himself. The toughest battle for em is yet to start. Switching play callers is gonna be hell for em.

Ben Johnson was smart not taking the job after last season and I pity anyone who takes it after this one. You maybe have QB, you're out picks, your o-line sucks, you have no receivers, and you have an owner who is going to shitcan you after setting you up for failure. Maybe there is someone who wants a $50-60M retirement plan and is willing to take a season of abuse before getting fired and riding into the sunset.

I hear Josh McDanials is available....

That might actually be too tone deaf a move even for David Tepper.
And this is the man who gave Matt Rhule a 2 and a half year leash.

Really what he needs to do is shitcan Fitterer and start over, but I get the vibe that they're drinking buddies or someshit and he keeps blaming coaching over his GM for his team's woes.

Sounds like a sweet gig to me. Chip Kelly's gonna need a job soon and he's 60 so it's a good time to retire.

I do not think that canning Reich was necessarily a bad move, but was he really the problem? I don't think the Panthers will improve much, if at all, with him gone. They just don't have the pieces around Young and from what I've seen they don't have a lot of help on the coaching staff. Just a shitty situation in Carolina all around. Worst thing is if I remember correctly there's only a couple of good O-linemen in the coming draft, and that's their biggest issue.

Its still an NFL head coaching job. They may not have the best pick for next head coach, but its still going to be a top job. Unless there are a bunch more firings, which could happen.
Teams that have fired their coach
-Raiders
-Panthers

Teams that might also fire their coach
-Falcons
-Giants
-Buccaneers
-Bills
-Saints
-Jets
-Patriots
-Chargers
-Redskins
-Bears

Irsay is unhinged. He's basically Jerry if Jerry didn't have the NFL's ear at all times.
I wonder how different the situation would have been if the Panthers took Stroud over Young.
Not one bit. The only reason Stroud is able to elevate the weapons on his offense is because he has a solid, if not exceptional line anchored by Laremy Tunsil, and decent to good receivers including Nico Collins and Tank Dell. If he went to Carolina instead, the situation might be slightly better, as IMO even taking into account the drought in Carolina, Stroud is still the superior QB.

No shot in hell that the Saints and Falcons get rid of their guys in front. I doubt we'll see a change in command at the Bucs or Bills either. Saleh is also iffy for me b/c I don't see a point in getting rid of him when the problem is clearly Zach Wilson, and he acknowledges this at this point and seems to be moving on. I think if they don't improve should Rogers return, though, Saleh's gone next season.

I feel so bad for the Vikings, man. Kirko is one of my favorite QB's in the league and seeing him go down like that, my heart dropped into my shoes. I really hope he's able to come back and put up a few more good years. He's an excellent QB even if the W-L record doesn't always reflect his talent.

The MSM sports media never talked about how bad it had gotten. The gambling, star players late to meetings and missing treatment. It was the kind of stuff that cannot be allowed if you want a winning team and demonstrates the lack of control he had over the team. Christ, who the fuck is a player going to listen to if they're blowing off the head coach?
Probably because doing any amount of research is too difficult for journos these days. Reich was awful in Indy and lost everyone on his way out.
Lol, but this makes him a bad owner. Tepper has tons of minorities and women working for the Panthers so that makes him a good owner (before this past week).

Irsay has been so vindicated in firing Reich last year.

I mean, these are teams that could fire their coach. And there are good reasons to fire all of them. I know the Falcons coach is in his 3rd year, Saints coach is in his second year, Bucs coach is in his second year as well. So unless the Falcons make the playoffs, they might fire him. But those teams still need to show improvement. If the Bills miss the playoffs, there might be shit that comes up from the locker room that force a change. Saleh probably should get one more year but this will be a 3rd year with losing records. There are rumors as well of Ron Rivera is going to be fired at the end of the season. Will the Patriots finally fire Palpatine at the end of the season? No idea but he has to let go of GM duties and that might be enough for him to leave. Giants are a shit show with cap hits like crazy, so they might just can him to try and find a new way forward. Chargers head coach has just wasted Herbert and he has given a few interviews that make it seem like he knows he's about to get canned. And the Bears are the Bears

Normally I'd say "Can Chicago just let the rest of the division roll them this year" and get better picks, but I know it's not good for the culture of the team nor the players. That said, Minny didn't deserve to lose like that. Dobbs was most of the way to a Full Delhomme (5 INT, one Lost Fumble in a game). Doubt we will ever see that again but always gives me a tickle when someone gets close.

Sounds like the Passtronaut had his Challenger moment.

I honestly think y'all are gonna stick with fields, but give em more support. I see potential but y'all gotta figure some of that stuff out. With this year's QB class, it's rather tempting. But some teams are better sticking with who they have rather than make that reset. I'll make the argument that Detroit is ready to make that transition or start to, since I genuinely don't believe Goff in the long term is our guy. But I'll tell ya Chiraq, stick with fields and get Harrison Jr.

There's no reason to waste another QB behind an offensive line that hasn't been good in 20 years and is a curse upon the position. But Chicago wouldn't he a lolcow franchise if they didn't keep doing this shit over and over again.
