This is the first time in many, many years that I haven’t subscribed to any NFL paid content.

The main reason would be just how dumbed down the game has become. What used to be an even contest between Offense and Defense (with Special Teams often being the difference in outcomes) has devolved into a shit show.

The new rules, specifically how Roughing the Passer, Defensive Holding, Pass Interference and Unnecessary Roughness are enforced is effectively an emasculation of the game that I’ve loved for many decades.

Have you noticed that in recent years, all Offenses more or less look the same ? How often do you see a QB go play action and throw over the middle to a crossing route, ending up with a 25 yard gain ? Or you can look at the wide open lanes that allow QB’s to pick up easy first downs with scrambles.

I remember when going over the middle was a thing to be feared because a Linebacker or Safety was waiting to decapitate you upon impact. Now all Defenses even look the same: essentially a “bend but don’t break” style, passive form of the game where you always wait to react to what the Offense is doing.

There was a time when if you were considering drafting a QB, one of the first questions asked was if they played in a Pro Style Offense and not some faggot shit that amounted to “stand in shotgun all game, run around and wait for someone to get open”.

The Pro Style Offense required QBs to be able to process a ton of information before the snap and to be able to throw pinpoint passes into tight windows. Nowadays blitzing (outside of the Red Zone) is practically meaningless because defenders have to ease up and lay the QB on a pillow for it to be a sack and not Roughing the Faggot.

That’s why niggers could never play QB consistently well. It’s only now with incredibly dumbed down offenses and refereeing standards that emasculate defenses and thereby allow for these college tier offenses to actually work.

Regardless, the fan deep inside of me still compels me to watch highlights every now and then.

I took great pleasure in watching many of these nigger QBs like Caleb Williams, Bryce Young and others take brutal beatings and lose because they have no idea about how to play the position.

The fuck kind of faggot wears nail polish during a motherfucking NFL game anyway ? You know that even the other niggers in that locker room don’t want to shower with that sissy.

One last point in this dumb rant: I see so much rhetoric about “they need better Offensive Line play !” and “the play calling is so bad !” around the web.

No. Just no. First of all, a great QB is able to help his Offensive Line perform better. He does this by setting the protection, sliding the line, identifying the “Mike” and most importantly, where the pressure is coming from.

Also, blaming the play calling is massive cope. This isn’t the 80’s when the West Coast Offense was some great mystery that no one knew how to replicate. All coaches have access to any play and nomenclature that they want with all of the cross pollination of coaching staffs.

The problem is that nigger QBs can’t process the level of information that is needed to properly utilize the entire playbook. They’re only smart enough for the most basic shit and this isn’t even going into post-snap information processing.

Thank God I still have Baseball to keep me sane.

Has anyone here switched teams? How did you pick one. I'm kind of leaning toward Buffalo because I love their fans, uniforms, players, and plays. I just want a team that's actually involved in the discussion , Arizona has always had 0 identity and Stockholm syndrome fans.

Never. Born and raised to be a New York Giants fan. Long story short without powerleveling: I'm not from New York or New Jersey, but I was raised to be a fan because of family. I'll just leave it at that.

I don't ever see myself even thinking about rooting for another team unless my son, by cosmic circumstance, gets into football and gets drafted by another team. That is literally the only situation I could possibly think of that would get me to root for another team. I'm very most likely going to be a Giants fan until I am six feet under-- enthusiastically so, even when the team is an embarrassment like this. lol.

But hey, if you're not feeling the team you were "assigned at birth" (lol) and are much more into another team's culture and fanbase, then make the choice for yourself! Especially since you didn't even become a football fan until you became an adult.

Nah fuck that, as hard as it is to eat shit season in, season out if your team sucks, it's all the more worth it when your team actually delivers after a long drought. As unrealistic as it sounds, the beauty of the NFL is how unpredictable league rankings can be from season to season.

To powerlevel for a second, growing up during the McNabb and Vick years, seeing the Eagles never quite make it over the hill while all my friends were sucking off Brady, was all the more worth it when a backup QB everyone thought was totally washed not only take us to the SB, but ball his fucking ass off, and spank Brady doing it. Anyway, point being: stick with your team, even when it feels like you're watching sub Highschool Varsity play, nobody can accuse you of being a band wagoner if you've watched your team suck ass for years. Also, the Cards might actually have a good season this year between LA's injuries, Seattle losing Pete Carroll, and the Niners in their second superbowl slump in 5 years.

I say this as a fan of both the Raiders and the Commies - you don't really switch teams just because your team is bad. Personally, I like Bad Teams, because when they manage to pull out wins out of nowhere it's some of the hypest shit you can get - unless you are specifically a Panthers fan, God clearly forgot about your team the second Tepper bought it.

And because I know my Season will be over by Week 9 at the latest, once we get to the Post-Season I just cheer for whoever I hate least. Or cheer for the giant meteor to hit the stadium, if we get another fucking Chief's-Niners Superbowl...

I was on the Cowboys bandwagon as a kid (was really hard not to be, tbh), but I came to my senses around highschool or so and am now a very abused Lions fan who laughs at the Cowboys getting rekt by the Packers every time they manage to face each other in the playoffs.

At least I have a bunch of cool cards of Emmit Smith and such, along with a nice and minty Troy Aikman rookie card. I also have the best Brett Farve Card of all, his Fleer Ultra Rookie card with him in a Falcons jersey, lul.

I'm always ride or die for the Packers, but each season I like to pick an AFC team to root for just based on vibes or maybe they have a player I really like and want to see winning. Unlike a lot of Packers fans, I don't view Aaron Rodgers like a scorned-ex, and I want to see him have another great season so the Jets are my boys this year as well.

No Aaron Donald, Puka, or Kupp? Also I think the Cards are a legit sleeper team
Oh I gotcha, forgive my ignorance I admittedly do not follow much of what's going on with the NFC west lol.

I agree with the Cards take, I don't think they're horrifically bad by any means. When I did my picks I was 60/40 in the Rams favor without looking into the meat and potatoes of injuries and such.

I’m stuck with the goddamned Cowboys. I inherited the team from my dad, and my earliest memories of anything are watching games with him. Probably the earliest memory I have is him telling me how much they sucked during the final Tom Landry season. While I guess I was a little too young to fully appreciate 3 rings in 4 seasons, I still have fond memories of celebrating when they won. It's funny how much the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction, considering we ended the Packers season 3 consecutive years back then. Now all I have is frustration, but I think it would be blatant homosexual behavior to bandwagon another team now. But every now and then I'll go back and look at old clips like this one from our last trip to the NFC Championship TWENTY EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AGO and get reminded of just how good they were.

This nigger is really painting his nails during NFL games. Sorry Bears fans, but not only does your rookie QB suck but he's a Grade A faggot

Genuinely, how does someone this faggy not get bullied out of football to begin with? Never played sports in school, but how are you gonna vote this fruitcake a team captain. Even Micheal Sam, a confirmed, cock-sucking homosexual put on a more convincing picture of rugged masculinity than Caleb Williams.

California man...even the jock niggers are gay.

Brett Kollmann makes an interesting argument that the new kickoff rules make kickers very important. For the kicking team, a kicker that can make balls in the landing zone unfieldable gains you 10 yards of field position. If you have a bottom middle defense, that 10 yards could make a big difference. On the receiving team, having a kicker that nails 50+ yarders makes giving your team the 30 less palatable when your drive is more likely to end in a successful FG.
I still think next week will be the start of all touchbacks, all the time, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Painting a single finger nail could possibly be an endorsement of the Polished Man campaign to end woman/child abuse. Norm MacDonald can be seen sporting a single black fingernail in some episodes of Norm MacDonald Live, ostensibly for the same purpose.

On the other hand, with so many of the players getting suspended for knocking the shit outta they baby mamas, you'd think the league would be over the moon that the Bears' QB is supporting a domestic violence charity and making sure that fact gets mentioned at every opportunity. Not a peep about it from the SNF announcers, though.

Men getting their nails painted (by someone else namely a woman/their daughter) isnt automatically gay. For this exact reason.

That being said you KNOW that zesty nigga gotta be spending atleast a half hour in the locker room before the game with a bottle of polish and acetone making sure his nails look absolutely FABULOUS!

Complicated for me... never really grew up in a football family, but everyone around me were pats fans- so that turned me off pretty hard lol. Once I started watching, became a Bills fan because they seemed scrappy and fun, also the only REAL ny team (sorry StarkRavingMad lol), and I also enjoy pain and misery- have been losing years off my life ever since.

Genrally I would not recommend switching teams, just makes it that much sweeter when the bad team finally turns things around and starts seeing success. That first year when we broke our playoff drought was magical. But then the goalpoasts move, and now it's SB or bust. But only one team can win every year, so unless you become a Chiefs fan (you should be shot) then you will probably always feel some disappointment at the end of the season. Cards have always seemed like a fun team so I would recommend riding it out. That said, if you saw the true Bills light I wouldn't be upset, always happy to welcome new members!

I was born into an Arizona Cardinals family. I got into football as an adult, and now for years I have been disappointed in every decision the management and coaches make. I have been looking for an out and trying to find a new team to root for, without feeling like a poser. Then, this year, the Cardinals are actually looking pretty good. If the past is to be believed, they will fuck it all up before the playoffs.

So I moved around a lot as a kid. Growing up I was team agnostic but when I ended up going to high school outside Chicago I became a Bears fan. I fondly remember the 05 Super Bowl run. The thing is after a decade or so I realized the Bears are a terribly run franchise and until that old bitch Virginia dies they will stay terrible.

That said I didn't quit the Bears. I just like to hate watch them and laugh when they lose.

I do live near Tampa Bay so I casually watch the Bucs. I like Baker Mayfield and find the team fun. If this continues then I might just give up on Chicago in a few years and become a Bucs fan especially since I'm probably never leaving Florida.

Fandom isn't a lifelong marriage. You can switch just don't be a fag bandwagoner. I'd say you can change a team but it has to be a minimum ten years before you can change again. It's like converting to a different religion, you don't do it lightly.

Also Caleb Williams sucks.

Please don't leave me alone watching the Bears shit the bed every Sunday. Misery loves company and all that jazz.

I've been all-in on the Browns since they came back to the league. At some point you just become fully committed to a bad idea.

So it sounds like the thread is split between "Yes you can change teams as long as it's for a good reason and not band wagoning" and "No and I have Stockholm Syndrome"
