Najee Harris (RB, Chargers) blew himself up with fireworks
Harris’ agent, Doug Hendrickson of Wasserman Sports, declined to comment when reached Thursday afternoon by the Bay Area News Group. A short time later, he issued a statement to multiple NFL reporters, saying that “Najee Harris was present at a 4th of July event where a fireworks mishap resulted in injuries to several attendees. Najee sustained a superficial eye injury during the incident, but is fully expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season.”

Officials with the Los Angeles Chargers — which signed Harris to a one-year deal ahead of the 2025-26 season — could not immediately be reached for comment.

Online forums and social media were abuzz with fans exchanging rumors and concerns over Harris. NFL veteran Jason Pierre-Paul, most recently of the Miami Dolphins in 2023, continued for some nine seasons after suffering a major hand injury in a 2015 fireworks incident.

The mishap happened about 12:20 a.m. July 5, in the 2200 block of Spanos Street, and injured more than one person. In a statement, Antioch police said some of the injured were treated at the scene and hospitalized. Others drove themselves to a hospital, police said.
“This is an unfortunate accident, and our thoughts are with the family and all those affected during this difficult time,” police wrote in a July 5 Facebook post about the incident. “We ask for patience and privacy for the families as the investigation continues.”

In March, Harris signed a one-year free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Chargers worth up to $9.25 million, according to ESPN. He played his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being drafted 24th overall in the first round in 2021. He totaled 4,312 rushing yards and 1,149 passing yards and scored 34 touchdowns as a Steeler.

Does anyone ITT find the nfl unwatchable these days? I can’t stand watching nigger meme qbs make the first read and then try to run endlessly on repeat. It’s fucking abysmal and I didn’t realize how important the qb position is to entertainment till they started pushing black qbs.

Just don't watch those teams with the black QBs. They get pushed hard due to diversity but there are still plenty of QBs who actually try and play the position. Look at a top 5 QB listing in the league right now that doesn't include Hurts and Jackson to find decent teams to watch

Disrespect Hurts again pussy, I dare you (I will be screaming the hard R at my TV screen his first INT of the season)

No. I am going to watch every minute of Justin Fields on the Jets.

He is the most entertaining player in the league. Will he drop back 17 steps and get sacked? Throw a 40-yd pass? Sprint to the sideline for a 0-yd gain? Who the fuck knows.

My workaround is bestowing the title of 'honorary hwite man'. Though the title can be revoked just as much as it can be granted.

Watching his style of qbing could be exhilarating for very brief moments, but for the most part it wasn't very effective.

Another factor is the simplified/dumbed down offenses like the read option, that coincidentally gained popularity in the league due to the influx of black qbs.

Sure, but that's the dream bad opposing QB. Ineffective in an interesting way.
Like, the absolute worst QB to have your team play against (from an entertainment standpoint) was Josh Rosen. Underthrow, underthrow, tipped at the line, underthrow, he froze up and took a sack, etc. It'd be entertaining for about two drives, then you're just hoping for one of those baffling interceptions where he throws to DB #2 in double coverage and you're wondering if he forgot what color jersey his team was wearing that day.
