Veeery interesting. Wonder if Flores had filed his suit a few weeks earlier they'd have grabbed him for DC instead of promoting Teryl Austin from within. Completely unsurprised the Rooneys would buck the trend from the rest of ownership, but they also have a terrible rec of moving on from obviously incompetent coordinators, so unless Austin goes lights out and gets poached from them (unlikely, from what I've seen), Flores might be stuck there for a while.

I think it's because the Steelers know he's not going to be there long term and he'll still find a head coaching job next cycle, especially since the NFL is getting diversity organizations involved with the hiring process and making adjustments to the Rooney Rule.

Plus, doesn't hurt to give that Tomlin rub.

Well, we had a separate XFL thread back in its day.

I just don't feel that inspired by what I've seen of the USFL so far. They seem to be playing it extremely safe, and maybe there's some value in that. But I'd rather have the XFL back, with its interesting rule changes, new presentation features, and games in actually different stadiums.

Well that and the NFLPA was sick of it along with the incoming draft class saying they would boycott the combine if the bubble rules were put into place. The combine and draft are the only real content the NFL has right now outside of bullshit rumors so they were forced to just say fuck it and be done with it
