Say what you will about Jerruh but the man's a marketing genius. IDK how he's managed to keep the Cowboys as the Lakers of the NFL without any of the corresponding success for the last 30 years, but damn if he hasn't done it.
All it took was an actual football coach to run his team well in the early 90s and the man was able to translate that into 30 years of media success

An actual football coach and the Vikings agreeing to the most one-sided trade in league history, but yeah.

Ehh, I think Ditka trading his entire draft to Washington for Ricky Williams was worse. Vikings were the victims of Jimmy Johnson fundamentally changing how the draft is viewed in the NFL

I still find it funny that the Cowboys are the richest franchise in the league.

How many playoff losses will it take
Say what you will about Jerry, the man knows his money and he has turned Dallas into a money making machine (not just the most valuable sports franchise in the NFL, but the most valuable in the world). That being said, the Cowboys will never be a good team again; Jerry's ego just won't allow it. If another coach took that team to the Super Bowl, Jerry would have to share credit for their success with that coach, and he won't let that happen.

Jerry demands yes men and is running the team as an owner and a GM. The cowboys will never be good while he is running this as a GM and hiring yes men

McCarthy will be the coach for a while so long as he doesn't start blaming Jerry for drafting terrible, signing shitty FAs, and making terrible trades. And if no other good coach comes up to hire
Well, Jeff Fisher's got his hands full with the USFL, sooooooo

One of the best things to happen to the Bucs was when ownership transferred to the Glazers in 1995, and we're sort of at the opposite end of that spectrum where the Glazers will fire your ass and get someone new in if they woke up in a bad mood.

Tom Brady is the first starting QB we've re-signed and Arians is the first head coach to retire instead of being fired. This franchise is complete chaos.

McCarthy will be the HC for as long as it takes for Jerry to convince Sean Payton to come out of retirement and coach his home team, in a desperate bid for a Super Bowl before Jerry himself dies and his son starts getting credit for roster building.

So McCarthy will be coach until Jerry dies

That's my takeaway.

Tom Brady has agreed to become the lead NFL analyst for Fox Sports once he retires from playing. The deal will end up with him receiving a 10 year, $375 million contract with them.

I guess this implies Fox gave him try-outs for that gig at some point. It'd be no good if he puts on a headset and is absolutely terrible at the job, but Fox still owes him nine digits.

I guess we'll find out in 2035 or so.

Seems insane given that he could be completely terrible at it. He obviously knows football but you gotta be a good speaker, too, and Brady doesn't seem to be the best speaker. They must be really upset at losing Aikman, even though he's not that good. Still better than Collinsworth though

Tony Romo is the best color commentator imo.

Its not like its too hard to learn how to color commentate. Plus he has somewhat of a good work ethic so he would probably work at it. Not a terrible investment all things considered
