I think we were spoiled last year with the division games and I'm pretty sure both conference games being down to the wire, last second scoring for the win games. These playoff games haven't been too good and I'm not terribly excited by this super bowl matchup.

Speaking of the super bowl, I found a tidbit that was funny to me and I'm not sure if it was mentioned already. Rihanna, who's doing the halftime show this year, was previously offered the halftime show and turned it down publicly to show solidarity to Kaepernick and BLM. Guess they didn't matter to her that much in the end, huh?
I find it funny that she looks like a Dr Seuss Who in the ads they've been showing and I haven't seen anyone else notice it yet.

I threw the Pro Bowl on out of morbid curiosity and it was Islamic Content so I said fuck that and went back to Pebble Beach.
They schedule this for a weekend that nothing else much is going on. It was Pebble Beach and women's college basketball

Anyway, apparently Ejiro was released from his DC role and was interviewing with the Vikings.
I thought he signed with the panthers?

Payton going to bring in his boys apparently.
Didn't he have a list of coaches who were going to go with him wherever he was hired?

Oh, that apparently happened while I was watching golf. But yes, he’s with the Panthers now. And I think every HC has that list of a staff but if you have a good incumbent… I’m a bit concerned about this whole thing.

Sometimes the incumbent might not want to stay. All I could find was him being released from his contract and being a free agent. That could mean he was fired or it could mean that he didn't want to coach under Payton

I get it but he did well with a shit HC and now you get Sean Payton. My concern is that he sees more issues with the roster, the (lack of) picks, and Wilson so he decided that the fucking Panthers (Vikings when I did the first post but it made more sense with Rogers leaving GB) are a better option.

I mean that could be the case. Or you could think of it as not being able to work with Payton and not anything to do with the team itself. Never going to know until next season though

Could be a bit of both?

Broncos are almost certainly going all in on fixing the offense next season with their limited resources, so I wouldn't be surprised if the defense regressed.

They might try to trade up to get Bijan or something.

That could be as well

Its hard to tell at this stage. They still have a draft and while you guys don't have a ton of good draft picks, you guys got 2 in the 3rd round and one in the rest of the rounds. So there could potentially be some picks there and other trades prior to draft day. Then massive roster movements before the season starts so anything can happen. I wouldn't worry about the situation...yet

Michael Irvin just got MeToo'd. I'm surprised it took this long. If his face isn't buried in a big pile of blow, it's in an intern's titties.

That being said, I love the dude. He finds something nice to say about even the worst players or coaches. If he gets quietly shuffled from the networks, ala Chris Carter, then at least he will have his rings and money.

Reminds me of what happened to Marshall Faulk, Ike Taylor, and Heath Evans several years ago when their tv careers ended because of sexual harassment against another female employee

Yeah who the fuck is her stylist the cat in the fucking hat? How about they get Metallica already?! Enough with all these Illuminati puppets they have been going on since 2011.

NFL Honors this year:
MVP: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
DPOY: Nick Bosa, 49ers
OPOY: Justin Jefferson, Vikings
DROY: Sauce Gardner, Jets
OROY: Garrett Wilson, Jets
CPOY: Geno Smith, Seahawks
COTY: Brian Daboll, Giants
Ass. COTY: DeMeco Ryans, 49ers
Man of the Year: Dak Prescott, Cowboys.

Generally agree with them, though I think it's kinda bullshit that Kenneth Walker would have won OROY under the old voting system. Not that Wilson wasn't impressive considering the QBs he had to work with, but K9 putting up that kind of production after not starting the first 5 games was insane. Also there are a LOT of salty Giants and 49ers fans on the internet complaining that Geno didn't "come back" from anything, like the award is meant to solely refer to injury.
I will say one hilarious aspect of the new voting system is that someone threw Geno a MVP vote as their 5th selection, which means that he officially has more MVP votes than Russell Wilson.

For anyone who wanted a primer about the current bullshit surrounding the Chicago Bears and their issues with getting a new stadium (and another reminder that Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is one of the worst mayors in the United States):

How do you make a 24 minute video on this topic and not even mention the horrific crime problem in Chicago, which is one of the primary drivers of the new stadium location?

As a long-time Bears fan, da Bears have never had a good stadium situation. They also haven't had good owners since it was passed down to the kids. I'm hoping they find a way to make the move happen, but the organization has excelled at stealing defeat from the jaws of victory.

And fair point up thread, downtown Chicago is way different than it was around 2000. They'd be better off moving to San Diego rather than staying in downtown Chicago.
