They must not think they can get the QBs in this year's and next year's draft. Going to be hard to lock down decent QB talent and the price will just keep going up. Just not a lot of decent QBs let alone good ones
Watson completely fucked the QB market.

Lamar got the non-exclusive tag and I think the Falcons might grab him.

So NFC South would wind up like:

Panthers: moving up to get a QB in the draft (they also want Rodgers but I think he's just going to the Jets)
Falcons: Lamar
Saints: Carr
Bucs: IT'S REAL KYLE TRASK HOURS WHO UP

Yeah Watson screwed up the QB market. Thats why some mediocre QBs are getting massive contracts. I just don't think it will be guaranteed money. That's how you can tell who the good QBs are

Thoughts for QBs this season

NFC East
Washington- Draft/Free Agent
Eagles- Hurts
Giants- Jones
Cowboys- Dak

NFC North
Green Bay- Rodgers/Love
Detroit- Goff
Vikings- Cousins
Chicago- Fields

NFC South
Atlanta- Draft
Carolina- Draft
Saints- Carr
Tampa- Trask

NFC West
Seattle- Geno
San Fran- Big cock Brock
Arizona- Injured midget
Rams- Stafford

AFC East
Dolphins- Tua
Patriots- Mac Jones
Bills- Josh Allen
Jets- Rodgers/White

AFC North
Bengals- Burrow
Browns- Watson
Steelers- Pickett
Ravens- Lamar

AFC South
Indy- Draft
Titans- Tannehill
Texans- Draft
Jaguars- Lawrence

AFC West
Chargers- Herbert
Chiefs- Mahomes
Broncos- Wilson
Raiders- A fan who said he could do it better

So a few notes to this. Titans are one of those teams that are up in the air about because they might be blowing things up. They might trade Tannehill and go with Malik Willis. Tannehill could slide into one of these teams with the Draft label. Marcus Mariota is probably done but he could easily pop up somewhere since not everyone will have a set starting QB because there isn't enough to go around. Lamar probably won't go anywhere because he wants guaranteed money and any team signing him has to give up 2 first round picks. Too high a cost. Nobody can predict Rodgers, which is why I have him on 2 teams. Jets aren't talking, Packers aren't talking, and Rodgers isn't talking. So any speculation from the "NFL" experts are just as good as asking the guy at your local bar. Raiders, Tampa Bay, and Washington are fucked this year for QBs. Tampa and Washington are too far down and would have to give up a lot to move up and get a QB in the draft this year. Raiders are in cap hell so can't really sign much. Mariota, Wentz, Dalton, Keenum, Brissett, and the other free agent QBs could easily slot into some spots if they under cut the market by taking like 20 mil a year. Garappolo and Mayfield will probably get near market value at some of these teams as well. I think Rodgers and the draft are the two big

Still one of the greatest plays in NFL football history. I still remember watching that game, that VERY PLAY, live!

Falcons: Lamar
Naw. Neither the Falcons nor any other team for that matter are willing to pay both Lamar's asking price and the Ravens asking price. The Falcons will pick pretty high in the draft, so they will just draft another quarterback.

The Falcons can try, but haven't they already said they aren't interested? Dealing with Lamar appears to be a pain in the ass since he's his own agent, and apparently a huge mama's boy who listens to all of her advice. The man has already cost himself over 70 million dollars by fuckin ghosting the Ravens when they made contract offer before the 2020 season. Since those offers he's ended all 3 seasons injured, has regressed each passing year, and has demanded 250 mil in guaranteed money. Baltimore's last contract offer before this season was allegedly the same type of deal that Russell Wilson received from the Broncos, a super bowl winning QB.

He's also missed out on endorsements after his MVP season, on top of the money he could have gotten from a contract extension years ago simply because someone put it in his head he didn't need an agent. Meanwhile, Roquan Smith, another man who doesn't have an agent, signed what? A month after the season ended? Baltimore has always been willing to pay what a player is worth in the NFL, and rumor is the NFLPA has been in Lamar's ear to get the fully guaranteed contract to push them in to being a thing in a violent sport like football.

Baltimore's defense rounded in to form at the end of the season and were 3rd in scoring defense with a strong O-line and run game. All they need is a QB who doesn't absolutely suck to keep winning with that core.

It's not Baltimore's asking price, it's the price that comes with the non-exclusive tag. They would have to deal with agentless Lamar, as well as lose 2 first round picks if they sign him. Funny enough, the Falcons could pick up this Anthony Richardson kid out of U of Florida, who appears to have all of the intangibles of Lamar, while being bigger than Lamar is.

That non exclusive tag should hopefully bring Lamar back down to earth. I think the Ravens are going to be the only competent organization to deal with his bullshit. He can run out the next 2 years of the tag but its not going to help him out

The devil's in the details - the agents always give out the maximum possible earnings/years to the media because it makes their job recruiting more clients easier. The guaranteed money runs out after year 2, so it's functionally a 2 year, $50 million deal (his base salary ranges from $28-24m/year), and the year 2 guarantee is only $12 million, so the Seahawks could probably move on after next season if they wanted to. The incentives are huge, though. He could more than double his base salary next year if he meets them.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we grab a QB to sit behind him somewhere in this draft. If we re-sign Drew Lock in free agency I'll reconsider.

Yeah the Geno deal probably makes more sense all things considered. If he performs well for the next year or 2, no need to really go out and get another QB. If he sucks next year, you guys could be within striking distance of getting a good QB in the draft. Idk if Lock was the best option as a back up but Idk if any other back ups will be out there that 1) are better than him and 2) would want to come to Seattle and play back up. The fact that there are so many openings for the position and so few QBs that could fill those roles means the pickings are pretty slim

If you were tied to a chair and had a gun pressed at you head and the only way to live is to pick one of the following for your team (hypothetical scenario where your team has no QB):
Which QB with controversy attached to him would you pick for next year?

Patrick Mahomes. Then I would hire an assassin to kill his brother and tell Pat that Jackson didn't make it

The Bears have traded the #1 overall pick in the draft to the Panthers for the following:

  • Panthers' first round pick this year (#9 overall)
  • second round pick this year (#61 overall)
  • first round pick next year
  • second round pick in 2025
  • wide receiver D.J. Moore

Wow, can't believe they didn't fuck it up. Well, at least this part. Can't say they didn't fuck it up until the draft happens

And according to Frank Reich, the Panthers are willing to trade the #1 overall pick which they just moved up to get the Bears. I have no idea what the play is here. I could be proven wrong in the future but the top QB prospects this year don't scream must have for me
I don't buy it. I think they have a QB in mind on who they are going to get. This is the season of lying, and they are probably lying about this right here. At best, I think they are trying to bait someone who wanted that first draft pick but didn't put together a package yet or some team realizes they aren't going to get what they want in free agency and decide to trade up. For all we know, the Bears might have moved too early
