Some notable wide receiver moves in from the last few days:
  • Adam Thielen signed with the Panthers ($25 million over three seasons) after playing his first nine years in his home state of Minnesota

  • Brandin Cooks was traded from Houston to Dallas for a fifth round pick (#161) in the upcoming draft and a sixth rounder next year

  • Elijah Moore was traded along with the #74 pick by the Jets to Cleveland for the #42 pick in the upcoming draft

  • replacing Moore on the the Jets is now former Chief Mecole Hardman after he signed a $6.5 million deal for this season

In terms of the rumour mill, the Jets are apparently still interested in Odell Beckham Jr., and running back Ezekiel Elliot is supposedly considering the Bengals, Eagles and Jets as his new team.

Free agent tight end Foster Moreau is stepping away from football after the Saints' medical staff discovered that he has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The NFL sent out a letter warning teams not to negotiate with him. So if anyone does a deal with this dude, they would have to initially pay a massive fine. So you can pay a massive fine, 2 first round draft picks, and pay a massive amount of money to a QB who isn't healthy in December and January. Can't believe more teams aren't jumping at that opportunity...

Nah man it's collusion. They're secretly trying to undercut a "generational talent" because of how much money he wants. Nothing to do with the cost, plus the steady decline in his productivity after his MVP, 1 and done playoff run season.

Worst part about being a Baltimore fan is we never suck enough to be in the running for a top flight QB. So when we get lucky like this, we get the fuckin headcase who thinks he's worth more than a 2x super bowl champion QB.

A team only has to pay two firsts if a team gives Lamar an offer sheet he agrees to and the Ravens don't match. This is how the non-exclusive tag works.

There are ways to get around this but there don't seem to be any takers. Lamar bet on himself and rolled snake eyes I guess.

Baltimore learned its lesson when they "had" to re-sign Joe Flacco to big money after he beat Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl.

Edit: Jesus, I forgot when Joe Flacco signed, he was the highest paid NFL QB in history that the time; although he was quickly surpassed. Also, $20M per year was big money for a QB only nine years ago. Flacco then immediately had the worst season of his career after signing.

When Rodgers called out the media in his Pat McAfee interview for false reports on his "wishlist", people in the media got mad. One of them was Mike Florio who is a Vikings fan and has pretty openly hated Rodgers for most of his career.

"Now, did they ask me about certain guys that I played with over the years? Of course. Did I talk glowingly about teammates that I love? Yeah. ... People want these things to be so true, that I'm in this meeting, dressed in ceremony regalia, giving them some sort of hand-written-on-parchment demand list of people they need to sign. My only demand is for transparency, and if you say some (expletive), sometimes it's not even worth it."

Mike Florio and the lesser Simms got pissy about Rodgers calling out the media and responded here. They were saying that Rodgers is making things up and its dumb to hate the media or call them out.

But almost a week earlier Florio was talking about how Rodgers already has a grasp over the Jets management and alluding to what Rodgers was talking about.

I don't know why anyone takes Pro Football Talk seriously. Florio, King and Simms are all hot take artists masquerading as detached analysts.
At least the networks hiring people like Stephen Smith and Skip Bayless are honest about the product they hawk.

Mike Florio is one of the dumbest people in the NFL media group. I honestly enjoy listening to him and Rich Eisen talk because its truly hilarious to see how stupid it will get. Eisen is dumb enough to believe everything Florio says and Florio will just ramble about the dumbest shit. Like he will make up something that isn't true and just run through an entire scenario about it. The one about the Colts signing Lamar is pretty funny
