So it looks like the NFL and the PA have been discussing making an 18 game season a reality before 2030. I know I gave my opinions on this awhile ago, but I'm not sure the current player base is going to agree to another extension of the season. The last bargaining agreement barely passed with 51.5% of members voting yes and the biggest concern was the league asking for more games to be played.

I'd really hate to see a lockout between the league and players, but I can't blame the players if they stood up and said no.
Honestly if they made it a 21 week season with 18 games i think the players would go for it.

So where's this thread at on the odds that Dak, Ceedee, Parsons and McCarthy all get paid by Dallas or Jerruh blows everything up by the end of the season when they inevitably don't make it past the divisional round again?
Man's only got a few more years for another ring and the first two in that list are being super cagey in interviews about it.

Personal bet, knowing Jerruh’s quote about how “if he wins Superbowl 30 he’ll never ask to win another” from the Cowboys run of dominance in the 90’s?

The only way ’dem Boyz win another SuperBowl will be the year Jerruh dies, mostly because at that point the Deal’s up and it’s free game. Considering Jerruh will likely outlive us all out of spite, good luck to Cowboys fans.

That's what we all thought about Al Davis, too, and look how that's turned out.

Here's the deal... Jerry and Stephen "Cap Boy" Jones pushed Dak's money down the road so much that if he leaves in free agency next season the team will still owe him $60 million. Add in Disc Sheep holding out this training camp and Parsons potential for holdout next offseason, the team is screwed in a rebuild year.

Now with the Phins paying Tua $212 mill 4 year extension putting him at $53 mil apy and Dak's contract shoots up even more.

The way those chuckleheads should have went about it was sign Dak after '22 when he threw the most ints of his career and then signed Disc Sheep last year. Tell Dak that they are willing to ship him to anywhere he wants because they are rebuilding from scratch. Get a young qb to battle it out with Trey Lance which young buck will win because Trey sucks lol. Trade Parsons for two 1's and the team is off to the races.

Instead we get Jerry's stupid "we are all in with less!!!!". And FYI, once he dies then Cap Boy will likely get the team and he is wayyyyyyyyy worse.

I honestly think this is some kind of mind game where he's basically telling McCarthy/Dak/CeeDee/Parsons that this is the best roster they're gonna get so they need to make it count before everything goes to shit.

Players and coaches just don't really think that way. They're gonna be thinking about which team they want to be on next year. Jerruh's just stuck in the 90s.

Players maybe not so much, but coaches absolutely think that way, it's why if your HC and GM are feuding the team is going to be bad no matter how good the coaching talent on staff is.
And tbh the Cowboys coaching staff isn't super reassuring that McCarthy will avoid the Wade Philips treatment from Jerruh. Zimmer's not a terrible hire to replace Quinn, but players usually wind up hating him, Schottenheimer is a Good Ol Boys hire who gets jobs solely because of his name, there's a lot of vague titles on the offense that makes me think a lot of staff is going to be stepping on each other's toes. I'll give Zimmer credit for forcing them to go back to giving everyone clear roles on the defensive side of the ball.

We'll see. Despite everyone hating the team the Cowboys are likely to be must-watch football this fall for either good/bad reasons.

The Dolphins were retarded to give Tua Turn The Ball Over that much money.
They pretty much didn't have a choice.
A) because there are probably only 20 QBs in the league who could operate that offense effectively, (they're all taken) and
B) they'd have to re-train literally everyone on that side of the ball and suck for probably half of a season if they moved on from him because Tua's dad is a narcissistic lefty.

TBH the Dolphins FO won making it only a 4 year deal with exit options to move on from him if he can't prove shit in the next two years.

What's the exit option like? I can't find the full contract details anywhere.
Basically everything cap-wise is spread through years 1-2 and after that they eat next to zero dead cap if they have to cut him after 2026. Pretty sure their cap jumps by like 200 million in 2027 right now.
I lowkey hate the access media for how they report contract details because it's totally obvious it's all fed to them via agents who just want people to focus on AAV and not on the myriad things the team did to protect themselves. I still can't find what Tua's incentive structure looks like and that probably played a big role in how this contract was written.

Brian Gutenkunst is channeling his inner BossmanJack and betting it all, on Jordan Love being the teams 3rd hall of fame QB in a row. He got a record setting contract so thats what people are going to expect out of him, records.

And if he's right is STG Im gonna fuck a dude...

His contract is high right now, but I am guessing Gutenkunst is betting on the fact that the salary cap is going to increase and other QBs are going to get higher contracts. The deal works if both of those facts and Jordan Love is good plays out. Otherwise, the Packers hall of fame QB cycle is done

Yeah and thanks to the clickbaity nature of sports journalism everyone is trying to get their hottest takes out immediately before they even know the full details of the contract.

Most QB contracts these days use rolling guarantees so that teams have a blast them out the airlock button. Even Mahomes' contract does. Reporters consider that the same as fully guaranteed because big numbers I guess.

LMAO. Imagine paying a backup Fuck You money because your dumbass GM spite picked some rando in the draft.

I for one am going to laugh hysterically if Jordan Love just completely regressed now that he’s gotten Paid. Green Bay’s had it too good for too long as far as QB’s - even if they don’t exactly have the hardware to show for it - that they’re due one that’s Mid at best.

Also because I’ve seen Perna on the edge of a breakdown for long enough, I feel like I need to see Grossi there to balance it out.
