Forever because he is black.

Obviously, having winning seasons is a good thing. What the media doesn't seem to understand is that those winning seasons are supposed to then produce playoff wins, and Super Bowl wins. Or at least be competing for them. The Steelers haven't been relevant for a almost a decade despite having all those winning seasons. They get alot of wins by beating on the crappy teams, then get curb stomped by the good teams. The playoffs have good teams, so the Steelers get curb stomped in their first game. The Steelers could have had losing seasons since their last playoff win, and they would still have 0 playoff wins but at least a new head coach. It's not like they haven't had talent either under Tomlin. He's been an underachiever his whole career and will be as long as he's with the Steelers.

I've seen the media compare Tomlin's career to all time great coaches like Shula, Brown, Belicheck, Lombardi, Halas, Landry, etc, and it unironically riles me up. Tomlin might be better than these guys because they had a losing season but Tomlin didn't! I'll take a losing season here and there if it means my team actually competes for championships, not pretends to compete like the Steelers right now.
Could be worse thr falcpns as a franchise haven't even made the playoffs 10 times. Fuck steeler fans. (Not as much as the bucs/saints new England faggotd tho)

Games worth caring about today

Falcons vs Panthers- Priority: low. Falcons need a win and some help to sneak into the playoffs. So it means something but meh

Commanders at Cowboys- Priority: medium. Commanders win and they get the 6th seed. I think that would mean playing the Rams but even if its the Bucs, that's way better than going to Philly

Bears at Packers- Priority: medium. Packers need to win and have the Commanders lose in order to get the 6th seed. Same reasoning as above

Saints at Buccaneers- Priority: Medium. Bucs could jump up to the 3rd position by winning and having the Rams lose, which means they would play Commanders/Packers instead of the 5th seed which is huge. A loss could potentially eliminate them from the playoffs.

Chargers at Raiders- Priority: Low. Chargers already have the 6th seed and a win against a really shitty Raiders team could get them into the 5th seed. That jump is pretty big tbf

Chiefs at Broncos- Priority: Medium. Broncos need to beat the third string of the Chiefs to get the 7th seed. Otherwise they will miss the playoffs thanks to the Bengals win yesterday.

Dolphins at Jets- Priority: Low. The Dolphins need help from the Chiefs in order to qualify and this will either be a final reminder to Rodgers to retire or the Dolphins getting the cold weather label permanently tattooed to their helmets.

Seahawks at Rams- Priority: Low. Rams are resting everyone against the Seahawks and are in the playoffs already. The worst they can do is be a 4th seed but considering how this season went, I wouldn't risk any more injuries.

Vikings at Lions- Priority: High. If you need an explanation as to why, you are in the wrong thread

As an Eagles fan, you're right our game isn't important, Barkley is sitting so no record, but we have a good chance in post it's better to sit him, but man does it kinda sting. We are playing a trash team (NYG) so they won't be putting their best out either just no point.

I mean I'm still gonna grill some wings and watch for mrs and I.

Yank kiwis, I bandwagoned the Vikings and Washington this year and both were a fun ride.
How miserable would following this sport be if I followed either one as a full fan? The vikings apparently are a 'poverty franchise' but seem good yearly and the Commies have optimism from new ownership.
Support QPR so I'm used to watching dogshit teams
The Vikings are not a poverty franchise imo, they're in the top 10 for all time wins and rarely have losing seasons. The last rut was with Frazier in 2010 and 2011, and before that in 1990. Despite this, they've never won a Superbowl. Because of that a lot of the fanbase is filled with doomers and I suppose in that regard they could be considered poverty. It's all about perspective.

I also think the Seahawks are worth keeping tabs on, I like them. But I do think Metcalf gets more attention than he deserves.

For those who think the Cowboys would be better off after Jerry dies then y'all don't know about Stephen "Cap Boi" Jones.

He is the one dolling out the contracts starting about 10 years ago. He is a legit penny pincher. He is sooooo bad that Cooper Rush was set to activate a $250k bonus for playing 55% of snaps this season. What did they do? Trey Lance is starting the game instead!!!!

I feel like the Seahawks are going to be in rebuild purgatory until we finally fire John Schneider.
We fixed the coaching problem but terrible contracts and bad drafting are totally holding us back.
Like, the man gives no shits about interior offensive linemen ever since we released Max Unger and it's the primary reason this team is going to miss the playoffs. Has been for years.

Not that I'm not impressed by Joe Milton, even if he is playing against the Bills backups, but think of your tank!

There are a contingent of fans who are getting dissatisfied from my understanding, but don't expect it to be a narrative anyone in the MSM will run with.
Steelers fans have been bellyaching about Tomlin as long as he's been a head coach, it's nothing more than white noise at this point.

Brown, Landry, and Halas would be absolute failures in the modern NFL.

They never had to deal with salary caps and free agency. The players back then had real jobs outside of the NFL back then.

Tomlin holds into his job because he can consistently get winning seasons without the front office managing to draft a serviceable QB.

Don't get me wrong, I would love the Steelers to drop him....and then end up in a coaching carousel of suck like the Browns.

Fun tidbit: The New York Giants were about to receive the ball off the 2 minute warning on 4th and 3. Some faggot/hero 4th stringer named Boogie jumped offsides and virtually ended the game. Boogie saved the Giants 2025 draft!!!

How much seething and rage must Dan Snyder have, seeing Washington going to the playoffs immediately after the NFL owners forced him out for being too much of a fuck up even for them?

God it warms my cockles.
