As a Lions fan, I'm extremely disappointed. I hate to say it like this but I can tell you that I unfortunately felt even before the first snap that this game was gonna be shakey and turbulent. Multiple things can be said as to why. But I felt that primarily that the Redskins and Daniels are in a great position. They have nothing to lose at this point. The fact they made it as far as they had before and even after this game just shows this. That team has truly rallied around this Coach and QB. To simply put it they're playing with house money that they're insured on. Go fucking all out and don't look back there is no pressure on them to continue to win. So why not win? That's why I fuckin feared Jayden and this team. Exactly that reason. This is another road game for a quarterback that has been to stadiums, which are either louder or just as loud as the Bucs and Lions. Redskins played a perfect game on both sides of the ball.
The lions have a lot of thinking to do. Every little issue that they had in the season crawled back up and bit them at the worst. Injured defense, Goff not being able to handle the blitz, and several bad calls on either side of the ball. Dan will tell you it's his fault for the game but he's falling on the sword for several players in this game.
Monty was useless and should've started his recovery for his MCL injury.
The defense let up multiple plays and cannot handle a proper dual-threat QB.
Coaches are not being prepped for the struggle of a game at home when playing behind.
Oline basically lost morale and gave up.
Goff will have his defenders but even folks in the Detroit fanbase are justly calling for some heat on his behalf. Every turnover has his finger prints on it. Whatever kind you think goff has had in the past is here. Terrible throws under pressure, terrible ball security, etc etc etc.
People will have issues with the defense, but I am gonna put this out there: The defense being out there for as long as it was DUE MAINLY to the 5 turnovers, 4 of them from Goff alone, kills the defense's stamina. 21 points alone from offensive turnovers by Goff. That is not on the defense. The defense also gave up the rest of those points. However again 21 points were scored on them can be placed on the fact that turnovers were the big killer of this game. For me while the lion's long-term future is bright. We are a contender for the most part. Winning the SB or even making an appearance is gonna be tough when we have a QB that has had every bespoke privilege that QB could ever ask for and can't win it when it matters. Goff's window for Super bowls is simply closed in my mind. How can he win it now when you're losing the best playcaller for the offense in decades? Clearly can't do it when he had em. Goff is gonna have a lot of pressure to deal with from the fanbse that now has to manage expectations since this is how this QB has played in a lot of big games in his career. Trust me Goff is gonna be here for a bit. But the team is gonna have an easy time selecting a QB when they have the opportunity if/when this keeps happening.
Anyways I am gonna be on my Anybody but the chiefs vibe from here on out till my Michigan Panthers take the field in the UFL's 2nd season.
