This should've happened numerous times in recent years and the fact it hasn't makes me think it never will.
It eventually will. You can't continue to avoid fixing your teams underlying problems and expect to get away from it. Especially when the tide is turning in both the media and the fanbase against the organization. Dennis Green was arguably one of the most consistent successful coaches during his tenure with the Vikings. However, he became increasingly polarizing due to his inability to get them back to the Super Bowl.

All it took was his first losing season and only second non-playoff season appearance for him to get fired.

Sorry if this is late and gay

I have absolutely no clue how Aaron Rodgers is getting interest from anyone at all after that 2024 season he had. He's not Tom Brady, he's clearly fallen off the cliff, and if the Steelers are actually stupid enough to start him they're going to go 5-12. And I was about to type "I'd rather just run with Fields for the year" instead (that would be infinitely better than Ayahuasca guy over here) but:

The Steelers might just be the fax machine of the NFL. I guess I'd rather see Wilson's occasional moonballs even still (assuming he doesn't get traded the minute after I hit post) but they deserve the inevitable apathy of the fanbase (and hopefully, UTree salt). Rooney needs to go.
On the other hand, if I'm the Jets, I'm in a much happier place than I would be yesterday. Would be even happier if Rodgers didn't force Saleh to seppuku out of the organization, but you know, sadly there are no time machines in life.

Days of Our Steelers is so almost fucking back. Tree is gonna lose his mind if this gets done.
He's cope streaming right now 2.5k live audience. If Tomlin has Rodgers come to the Steelers and be the main QB, they're fucked.

I could see him being there if Fields stayed or a young QB to be kind of a mentor QB for a year or two. However, being the main QB without training up another is ridiculous. He's just washed and past due in leaving with grace as a player.

EDIT:
I just thought about it. How much locker room drama and crashout events will happen with George Pickens, DK metcalf, and Aaron Rodgers together this coming 2025 season. :story:

We'll see if we get weeks 1-16 Darnold or the guy in the last two games this fall.
He could possibly see the Bosa ghosts twice a year.

Jaxson Dart is Jordan Love 2.0

Spoilering to not make the thread too messy. Mostly defensive signings:

OLB Josh Sweat is going from the Eagles to the Cardinals four four years on a $76.4 million deal.

Carolina made Jaycee Horn the highest paid defensive back in history by extending him for $100 million over four seasons. They've also signed former Chiefs DT Tershawn Wharton for $54 million on a three year deal.

New England using their cap space:
  • OLB Harold Landry (from Tennessee) for $43.5 million over three years
  • LB Robert Spillane (from Vegas) for $37.5 million over three years
  • CB Carlton Davis (from Detroit) for $60 million over three years
  • DT Milton Williams (from the Eagles) for $104 million over four years
The Lions are replacing Davis by getting D.J. Reed from the Jets for three seasons and $48 million.

CB Charvarious Ward is going to the Colts for $60 million over three years.

In backup QB news:
  • Zach Wilson to Miami
  • Josh Dobbs to New England
  • Eagles traded Kenny Pickett to Cleveland for Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 5th rounder
Washington traded their 3rd and 7th round picks this season as well as their 2nd and 4th next season to Houston to get Laremy Tunsil and a 4th round pick this season.

If the Giants lose both Rodgers and Russell Wilson to other teams, Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen can kiss their assess goodbye.
I love Rodgers. I think both he and Russ still have it to be a QB in the league, but I really have no idea how either could play for the Giants and survive a season. I think they'd have better chances with someone whose at least young and mobile like Fields, but the Jets got him.

in other QB news. SUPER BOWL CHAMPION QB Kenny Pickett -> the Browns. Hopefully he doesn't get molested there.

Why are we releasing Juszczyk.
There has been a shift in the front office dynamics with SF as they prepare for the Brock Purdy era according to an article in The Athletic. The owner and his pet jeet are taking care of contracts, Lynch is charge of in roster construction, and Kyle is in charge of the team. Ownership is not pleased with the fat contracts handed out to Kyle's favorite players and now they're in a crunch to pay Purdy. You can thank overpaid do nothing quarterbacks like Dakotah Prescott and Trevor Lawrence for some of that as well.

They want to get younger and cheaper so they can go on a run with Purdy in a year or two.
