What @Drama Fan said, also Michael Penix Jr has not only torn the same ACL twice, he's hurt his throwing shoulder in the past too.
If it weren't for Atlanta throwing everyone a curveball it's quite likely Penix's injury history would've had him slide past both Bo Nix and JJ McCarthy in the draft, maybe even all the way into round 2.
Exactly, trading away Cousins for pennies after giving him a massive deal and drafting his replacement, just to have that replacement get injured after trading Cousins would probably be worse case scenario for them and tank the season. This way they have a high end backup that wont mean the seasons immediately over upon Penix snapping in half like he got sat on by a 300 lbs hooker. The only question is wether or not the Falcons intended to pay 100 million in guarantees to a back-up QB.

Might want to ask the Jets. lol. They basically ran him out of town.
The Chargers have been a mediocre organization for a while now, but to put them on the same level as an organization who's roster construction strategy is based around how a 19 year old feels about Madden ratings is fucking wild. What did the Chargers do to hurt you?

Justin Herbert is fun as hell to watch, just a dame shame its on the Chargers and their poor choices in offensive weapons.

Not an indictment on the Chargers at all. It's about the lazy slug Becton turned out to be.

He did fine for us. Some Eagles fans look back on his season with rose colored glasses concerning his performance on the field, but he switched to guard without protest, was great in the locker room, and was fine on the field if a bit inconsistent. New Jersey is where football goes to die, so I'm never surprised when an adequate player doesn't do well at the Jets or the Giants.

Switching from whoever Woody Johnson had coaching that line to Jeff Stoutland, probably the best OL coach since Dante Scarnecchia, will do that, and I'm 95% certain Becton said as much in pre-Super Bowl interviews.

A potential update for Rodgers Watch - allegedly, he wants to go to the Vikings. And is apparently waiting to hear back from them.

Considering the rest of their QB room has bailed, the Vikings now have the chance to do the Funniest Thing.

The funny part is the Jets used to have a good o-line coach, Mike Delvin, who's now with the Chargers.

If you were the undisputed top pick in the draft, which 3 NFL franchises would you definitely NOT want to draft you?

My List:

1. New York Jets - probably the worst overall owner
2. Cincinnati Bengals - the poorest owner in the league
3. Cleveland Browns - unrelenting bad seasons…and also the worst uniforms

I'd say the 4-D chess move is to go to the Browns knowing that they'll bungle things so badly that you'll be traded in 2 seasons max in a lopsided panic deal to shed your salary in return for some other teams 3rd string backup who has "incredible potential".

Might swap Cincy with Tennessee, they seem to be a particularly poorly run organisation these days, Cincy had a superb owl appearance not that long ago.

Well there you go, Becton and his boss can commiserate over the misery of working for Woody Johnson and he'll retain his improved work ethic.
Unless Spanos super fucks up, and given he, like, averaged a D+ on this year's NFLPA report card, that's not unlikely.

Aren't the Saints in the worst position from kicking the cap can down the road for forever with creative accounting? Anyone drafted there can be guaranteed that they'll never have a supporting cast.
I'd also say Panthers should be considered. I just have a vibe that they will continue to suffer.

Ever since Richardson was forced to sell, the Panthers have been on a downward spiral.

EDIT: I'll throw the Raiders in there; outside of a few good seasons post 2002, they've just been a dumpster fire. Owner is too cheap to get a decent haircut.
