What in holy hell is this? Arena football?

It from the 30s man, back when the Eagles were the Frankford Yellowjackets. They did it as a throwback back during the McNabb era.
Not that I follow Eagles football but back then I regularly watched ESPN and never saw these on NFL Countdown

Back to our regular reminder that the Packers are the best team and even if you hate them they are the only financial transparency in the league (due to being the best team)

emphasis mine, of course
The Packers reported a $60.1 million operating profit for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, in their annual financial report released Tuesday.
That represents a 12.5% drop from last year's operating profit of $68.6 million, due in part to the depreciation of capital investments in Lambeau Field and football facilities. But the reduction is not a concern, as the overall number resides within the rather robust range the Packers have consistently seen in recent non-Covid seasons.
According to the report, total revenue increased nearly $44 million, to $654 million, with nearly two-thirds of the boost coming in national revenue from the built-in increases in the NFL's broadcast contracts, along with new streaming deals entering the picture.
reduced profits despite increased revenues. Somehow there's always more money to spend.
"The NFL is fortunate to be the nation's most popular sport, and the Packers and all clubs are in a good position with long-term contracts with broadcasters," Murphy said. "The teams and players continue to benefit from that. At the same time, we'll continue to provide a great in-person experience for our fans and grow the game in new ways."
I love Mark Murphy but emphasizing the broadcasters vs the players and the fans is gay and cringe.
Total expenses rose $52.3 million, largely due to two factors – (1) contractual obligations to players due to the typical increase in the salary cap and turnover within the roster, and (2) the depreciation coming on the books of the organization's aforementioned most recent capital investments in the football facility, new stadium video boards and concourse upgrades. Those construction projects have brought the franchise's investment in Lambeau Field to $600 million, without any public tax dollars, since the 2003 redevelopment.
"Haven't squeezed your tax dollars recently" is phrased like it gets them good boy points. Probably not applicable for the teams that have gotten or are are gunning for new stadiums like Cleveland and Chicago.

Anyway, go football. 43 days until the regular season starts.

Controversially, I said earlier ITT this was one of the best alts that needs to come back, it's retarded and weird, but that's also the theme every other league is trying out with their City Connect Jerseys, so in short fuck it, bring back the eyesore Yellowjackets throwbacks it would be awesome to see Jalen Carter nail somebody in this.

Unrelated to this, but other than the Chargers Navy Blue and Philly's Midnight Green every other teams pivot in the 90s and 00s to a more muted and darker color scheme was awful and it's proven more and more by the reception to the throwback jersey games by teams like Denver, Tampa, and Seattle, that people much prefer a more vibrant and old school style of color scheme and design. Is anyone really clamoring for the forgettable and dumb Titans styling? Or do Titans fans go nuts for the few games they put on the Oilers Jerseys? Also the Texans are one of the few teams swinging for the fences with their alts, not all of them are home runs, but I like the creativity.

Justin Fields believers might have to wait awhile
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was carted off the practice field Thursday morning with an apparent lower leg injury.

Fields pulled up after rolling right and throwing an incomplete short pass to tight end Jeremy Ruckert. Fields went down, sat on the ground briefly and limped off the field with the assistance of a trainer.

He spent a few minutes in the injury tent before a cart arrived on the scene. Fields was taken to the locker room, sitting in the passenger seat of the cart, before walking into the team facility.

Fields, who signed a two-year, $40 million contract as a free agent, is the Jets' undisputed starter. Tyrod Taylor replaced him in team drills.
