Speaking of the team that has won the most championships in NFL History (13 btw), Green Bay released their throwbacks for the year.

I dislike the Packers on principle, but do respect when they kick the Bears' ass or roll out a solid throwback. The helmet is absolutely fantastic. Hopefully they wear them during a Bears game so I gave something interesting to look at while my team gets railroaded (again).

Hot take: depression era uniforms generally suck, because nobody knew what they were doing back then and the design was usually left to the owner's niece or someshit.
Also they were a tertiary concern at best because everyone was mud or dust-colored by the end of the first quarter.

Give me the autism stickers, but shouldn't a team in Green Bay have at least a little green on their uniforms.
Yeah yeah, it's cool and historical and nice-looking. There still isn't any green on this entire uniform.
I will now call them the Brown Bay Packers in this uniform.

I've been calling the the fudge packers for years now they have the colors to match.

Controversially, I said earlier ITT this was one of the best alts that needs to come back, it's retarded and weird, but that's also the theme every other league is trying out with their City Connect Jerseys, so in short fuck it, bring back the eyesore Yellowjackets throwbacks it would be awesome to see Jalen Carter nail somebody in this.

Unrelated to this, but other than the Chargers Navy Blue and Philly's Midnight Green every other teams pivot in the 90s and 00s to a more muted and darker color scheme was awful and it's proven more and more by the reception to the throwback jersey games by teams like Denver, Tampa, and Seattle, that people much prefer a more vibrant and old school style of color scheme and design. Is anyone really clamoring for the forgettable and dumb Titans styling? Or do Titans fans go nuts for the few games they put on the Oilers Jerseys? Also the Texans are one of the few teams swinging for the fences with their alts, not all of them are home runs, but I like the creativity.

Literally every single Dolphins fan and even non-Dolphins fan recognizing that not only are the Dolphins throwbacks better than the current ones, the old ones are one the best looking informs in the history of the league. The new one looks like a design palatte and logo you would use for a hotel chain.

The late 90s and 2000s unfiroms were great as well and I'd be happy of those were back

Goes from a logo with history and character to just utter boring garbage.

miami-dolphins-logo-history-v0-57dde7nn5hne1.webp

The Panthers did the same shit. Had a logo with some flair and energy and turned it into a badge that looks like something a European soccer team would use.

At least the Heat are smart. Their logo is perfect. Instantly recognizable and tells you everything you need to know about the team. How the Dolphin with a football helmet on used to be.

And it's literally because the old Jew who bought the team paid the designers a whole bunch of money so he could make HIS mark on the team. He's 85 and I hope he dies soon and sells to an owner that's not as much as a celebrity worshipper as he is.

Every team with a cool animal idea or a horsey (the Pistons) for a logo, eventually regress to the most boring brain dead version of it. In the case of the Pistons, they just fucking got rid of the horse. Dolphins old logos were insanely hard. So retarded they took the helmet away from him.

Minimalism has taken over everything. The NBA has probably been hit the worse given their uniform design changes over the years. Both uniforms and logos should have some style in them.

Everything must enshitified and sterilized by 20 something college graduates. Boldness, style, and representation must be crushed and eliminated. A perfect example of this was the College Football Playoffs video ESPN put out. National Champion, Super Bowl Champion, Ryder Cup Winner, covid survivor, and father of 10 AJ Hawk's reaction said it all:

Even our dissenting voices like Hawker are being paid for, very sad state sports are in. My retarded ass will still buy Sunday ticket and RedZone because I love the Lions too much. I remember watching the 2022 draft in a public gym, and they had this God awful abomination on TV:

When in white letters against a pitch black backdrop “FOOTBALL IS GAY” popped up, I almost turned the TV off. It was embarrassing. They’re doing every faggy jewish trick available to make me look retarded for liking football.

I have thankfully got my old man to watch pirated games when there is a blackout or he doesn't have the streaming service. He'll complain about the cost of Sunday Ticket a couple times a season and I always remind him that I don't pay a damn thing to watch from home. Sometimes when there's a bad signal or something he'll ask me if we could get a better signal on the pirated stream. Let's find out! Is there a pirated stream for Redzone? There sure is, dad!

I get the idea behind that CFP commercial
was "Lets do a schoolhouse rock type skit" because it's colleges, but whoever they outsourced the animation and song to were either too creatively rotted, or lazy, or cheap, or all of the above and the end result is one of those fake animations you'd see on TVs in Grand Theft Auto that is satirizing how retarded broadcast Television is.

Dick Vitale's old "Happy Action Funtime!" bumpers for college b-ball were more funny and more true to that style.....

Probably the best throwbacks in the league. God bless whatever NCAA team did those detailed leather helmet sprays last year for popularizing this, these look awesome.
Twitter seemed overwhelmingly positive on these too. I feel like I'm the only one who absolutely hates these throwbacks. The jerseys themselves look better than the previous 30's throwbacks with the plain brown helmet, but I abhore the fake leather pattern on plastic.
I much prefer the 50's throbacks personally.

Now for my actual reason for opening this thread. No Fun League is going after 100+ players for scalping the super bowl tickets they weren't using.
At least 100 players from roughly half of the NFL's 32 teams face fines and possible suspension for allegedly selling their allotted tickets to this year's Super Bowl LIX above face value in violation of league policies, multiple sources told ESPN.

Under an agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association, players who violated the rule will be fined 1½ times the face ticket value and lose their allotted tickets to the next two Super Bowls. If they are playing in the game, the players will have the chance to purchase seats.

Those who decline the punishment could be suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell, league and union sources with direct knowledge of the situation said.

The sources said that the number of players involved was "in excess of 100," some of whom have already accepted the fines to avoid missing games. A league source declined to identify the players and employees who had sold their Super Bowl tickets or their clubs.
I just can't take the claim that the people willing to buy super bowl tickets for thousands of dollars are being taken advantage of. They can clearly afford them. The League is just mad it didn't get its cut.
"This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket's face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less."

Perel added that the league will enhance mandatory training before Super Bowl LX for all league personnel to emphasize the rules and "the broader principle that no one should profit personally from their NFL affiliation at the expense of our fans."

It's exactly what they were going for and that's the problem. I didn't go to a big school. I don't know college football and I don't really care about it. I know people who do and the reasons they love it are the rivalries, the passion, the legacies, the intensity. Where's the passion in that promo? Where are the rivalries, the intensity, or the legacies?

It might have been in the part I skipped with my link, but AJ says "My kids will love that. They'll probably be singing it tomorrow." It's condemnation, not praise. Of course, why should a playoff promo appeal to college football fans? Why should it get them excited? They're already baked in.

It needs to appeal to kids, gays, and women. They're the missing demos. ESPN could have done problematic high energy promo that highlighted big hits, big plays, and big personalities. It probably would have upset some college football fans who felt they got left out, so they made something that didn't appeal to college football fans instead.
