I maintain Sanders was a Jimmy Haslam pick, Berry and Stefanski had a plan in place and were gearing up to groom a long-term backup and take a stab at the QB of the future next year.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fucking moron. You could argue them taking Dillon Gabriel was a bit overzealous, considering they already had 2 QBs. One of which (Kenny Pickett) they traded for draft capital. You could ignore all the baggage that comes with Shedeur, and picking him as a 4th QB in the 5th round is still a pants-on-head, retarded decision.

Gabriel made perfect sense, if Stefanski didn't think he was coaching for his job (record aside, the dude's won 2 of the last 5 COTY awards). He's had nothing but churn when it comes to the QB room, that doesn't look to be changing in the near future as far as the starter is concerned, but a reliable backup QB, who can grow in his system, help with game prep, and teach it to whatever poor bastard takes the next seat at the QB carousel in Cleveland would be a big get. And Gabriel fits that profile exactly.
I cannot wait for the shellacking the Browns will get from sports media if Haslam really does force Stefanski to start Sanders a significant part of this season and then cleans house to bring in Deion.

I looked forward to updated Browns QB jersey at the end of the season.

browns jersey.webp

I saw an article that Shedeur's jersey sales have already hit $250M. I always assumed he was a Halsam pick, but it have been a savvy business move.

that cant be true
The Green Bay Packers (only team that publishes their financials) worked on only $719 Million in revenue last year
I just went to chase down where the number was coming from and everything with the number ended up a couple social media posts. I got bamboozled. All anyone reputable is saying that he just has the #1 selling rookie jersey.

Sanders bingo.webp
seriously how did this league get taken over by option running negros in like 5 seasons? are white quarterbacks just not a thing anymore?

It's easy to point to Jerreh's other negotiation bullshit and say the same thing is going to happen with Micah, but I'm leaning towards it doesn't. I think he has a stick up his ass and is going to make Micah play on his 5th year option. Part personal, part "muh handshake deal", part ego, part power play by an owner, I think there are seeing a bunch of things stack up to make Jerreh Jones decide he ain't gonna take no shit from no player. I don't think it's helped by the fact that Micah's agent is probably egging him on.

Birds just signed Sam Howell. I'd been worried about Tanner McKee's finger since there was scant info and this just confirmed it's fucked. C'mon Mormon Missile, we need ya bud. Howell and a 6th to the Eagles for a 5th and a 7th to the Vikes. We're down to 12 picks in next year's draft and I doubt Howie is done. Still questions a edge depth, corner depth, and guard depth.

They are obviously both at fault here. Jerry has a history of poor negotiations and clearly isn't adapting to the modern NFL financial landscape. At the same time, Micah is coming across like a clubhouse cancer who is going to rip the locker room apart with his behavior. Jerry has never been one willing to tolerate a personality who causes drama within the team itself.

It is a match made in hell.

He never should have been negotiating the way he has. It's against the CBA. The league lets him get away with it because the owners run the league. The NFLPA let's him get away with it because they are an inept, corrupt, and impotent union.

My league's draft is taking place rn. Can you guys supply me with extra memes of Kelce being a secret gay guy to help me smack talk my friends?

That's just what comes out of college now. It's due to a couple factors.

Spread formation took over, QBs don't really need to set protections anymore which could get super complicated in I-formation. Many college QBs aren't allowed to audible out of a play either. This was basically considered a baseline ability that a QB needed to have in the past but now it's no longer true, plus college OCs tend to dumb down the offense as much as possible.

DL talent is outstripping OL talent and zone run schemes are standard in college where you want smaller, more agile OL players. This makes them worse at pass protection, so QBs who can get the ball out quick or scramble or just tuck and run if they see a lane are more valuable.

WR talent is also getting better than DB talent. If you have ridiculous receivers there's no point in going through progressions. If your first read is wide open every snap well obviously you're gonna throw there. This also makes it more difficult to evaluate QB talent. Fields, Daniels and Burrow all threw to the first read all the time. Mahomes and Mariota ran the same style of offense in college. There's...quite a bit of variance in how they all did in the NFL.

Shedeur got sacked 5 times on 11 dropbacks today, including a 24yd loss where he just kept dropping back farther and farther with no plan.

He has the Bryce Young disease where he won't take risky throws and won't tuck and run, so every DC in the league has him figured out now. Too bad about your NFL career buddy, better luck next time.

Typical arrogant asshole. He refuses to throw the ball away because it would hurt his completion percentage.
