The only grace I can give them is the fact that they lost a key piece on the offensive line (Frank Ragnow) including 2023 Jonah Jackson so trying to create a scheme for a new offensive coach is probably a struggle but jesus christ they were pounding the ball and it did fuck all for them.

As excited as I am for the demolishment, I'm not putting all my stock in that game. The Lions need a couple of games to gel with the player/OC turnover. Plus, every team goes through that to some extent now since practices are so limited during the offseason and the way preseason games are structured now. However, it can definitely go in the other direction too. Didn't the Saints start 2-0 last year and demolish the Cowboys, only to go on and become an ongoing clownshow?

How the hell do all of these young (relatively) QBs not know how to do that? Is it just the OCs hogging the play calls so the QB doesn't have to worry, or are they just less trained on reading defenses/calling protections?

Big win for the Packers. Defense looks fucking great. Offense got off to a hot start and did enough in the fourth to close it out. Packers had to come out and get a big win against a division opponent after going 1-5 last year.

What I'm interested to see is if it's the type of shit that's gone forever, or if a super smart QB that sees everything pre-snap and has genius-tier decision making, is able to come up, blow everyone away, and redefines the position back to that style of QB.

Either way, yeah. College QBs basically slap their hands to hike the ball, run whatever RPO was called, rinse, and repeat ATM.

Quarterbacks use to be students of the game. They could recite the playbook in their sleep, and read defenses better than anyone of the coaches.

Now QBs just listen to coordinator on their helmet radio, and scramble or run if the play breaks down.
