The Chicago Bears are ahead of the Green Bay Packers at the halfway point of the season. The schedule is very tough going forward, but if someone had told me they'd be ahead of Green Bay at this point I would not have believed them.

FTP.
Losing to the Browns, Panthers, and a half loss to the Cowboys will do it. Chicago's offense has more life this year, and GB's defense is probably better than Chicago's. We're in the film negative timeline.

Also reminder that Micah was correct.

>Dan Campbell took over play calling
>offense actually fucking resembles itself

I might actually want Dabol or McDaniels if they get fired. Dabol ain’t great, but Orton was uninspired.

McDaniel as the Detroit OC would be terrifying. He would be a perfect match with Goff and a disciplinarian like Campbell in charge. They would legit win a Super Bowl.

Between Virginia McCasky dying and the Pope being from Chicago? If you were to try and tell me the Bears became… something approaching competent by way of Divine Intervention, I’d believe you.

McDaniel’s Offence requires a lot of buy in from teams, and he’s lost his locker room.

Campbell, as seen last year when the Lions had a biblical plague of an injury bug, has even the 4th Stringers willing to die for him.

I’d be all for that Superbowl Run.

I don't mean to be a killjoy but they would still need to beat not just opposing teams but also the refs and the league itself which have a long record of fucking over the Lions

I'm a Bears fan, and agree.

McFaggot's offense is borne from timing 3-4 years ago, and worked until Tua got his brain turned into scrambled eggs. He cannot run a successful offense in the NFL barring injured defenses and home games. Even then, ge can scheme shit to make it work on occasion, but he's not a leader. McVay, Shanahan, Campbell? They are. He's not HC material.

It's okay to not be at the top, plenty of coaches have tried and failed. He might be a decent OC, but he shouldn't get a HC after this Miami run.
Edit for mobilefag spelling.

Yep. I'm sure teams will want him, though I think it's a mistake.

People forget that Miami was the only team that interviewed him and he was the last candidate they interviewed, and at the time it was considered an extremely weird hire.

I don't know how his PR is so good that people consider him an offensive genius. Had an absolutely stacked roster on offense for their window and he just never made it click even before he lost the locker room due to being a weird dork.

He's just very different from the rest of the crowd. Dude looks like he's going to leave in the 4th quarter to DJ at a local bar.

So do we want the J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets! for Thursday? I kind of want them to be a spoiler for the AFC.

Pardon the double post, according to Schefter Joe “Toey Joey” Burrow might be looking for an out. My bet is Rams or Steelers, with an unlikely wild card choice of the Saints.

Fun fact - The Giants always immediately fire their Head Coach after losing in Chicago. Just one of those funny coincidences we can laugh at them/Daboll about.

On one hand, I can't blame him - the Bengals are like, 4 guys who got paid and a bunch of bodies that occasionally block.

On the other hand, Burrow demanding said 4 guys get paid is part of, if not most of, the reason the Bengals are a bunch of bodies that occasionally block.

Full honesty I hope he gets out before he gets killed behind that O-Line, but he's also got one helluva contract to move, and it may be void because per looking at his contract, and assuming I'm reading it right, he has a no-trade clause.

I give very little credence to Schefters Bengals takes. He hates the team because they don't give him info. He never breaks news on them. Its always Rappaport, Pelissero, and recently Jordan Schultz. Schefter was a big pusher of the thought that Joe might refuse to play for them before the draft. I think if Joe really wanted out, he wouldn't have been rushing back from injury. The small time Bengals insiders had said he was aiming for a Thanksgiving return a month ago.

Even if he did want out, it wont happen. They just paid big money for Tee, Jamarr, and Gesicki at the behest of Burrow and there is zero chance Elizabeth Blackburn will let him go after that. Also, more importantly, they let Carson Palmer retire instead of agreeing to trade him. Had Andy Dalton not panned out, Palmer would have never played a snap of football again.

To me he always gave off vibes of being the guy you didn't want to meet at a party since he'd start talking about topology or someshit and now you have to sit there and pretend to be interested since you don't want to hurt his feelings.

Supposedly his retarded ass girlfriend wants him to go to LA.

Burrow's case is a weird one because it is hard to tell what he cares about more. On one hand it does come across like he wants to be the most successful QB of all time with great stats, well-accomplished seasons and a bunch of accolades. He wants everyone to talk about how great he is for generations of football fandom to come.

On the other, he has gotten a huge contract out of playing football that will fund his over the top glamour lifestyle for years to come. He has already achieved NFL fame and the perks that come with it. On top of that, it is debatable if there is even this tiny bit of an inkling that he is willing to restructure his contract to allow for money to be spent on offensive linemen.

This is tough one because I have no idea which way he leans. He comes across like he is expecting everything out of both sides I just laid out, with no sacrifices that have to be made on his end.

Depends what he wants, if he wants a better rate of being protected after least game i don't think the Steelers can offer that

This is one of those things that people hear and it becomes the only problem they see. For starters, we're 8th in cap space next year they can sign all the offensive lineman they want. They have spent a ton of money on guys that have had success on other teams. Orlando Brown, Alex Cappa, Ted Karras, Riley Reiff, Lael Collins, and thats just the guys they've signed to start since the superbowl. They have also used 8 picks on linemen since Joe was drafted.

You can throw all the money and draft picks on the line, but part of the issue is Joe. Since becoming the starter, Flacco is tied for the lowest pressure percentage in the league. Hes only been pressured on 15.5% of his dropbacks with the. Bengals. That's becuase hes getting the ball out and making quick decisions. Burrow does that too, but he loves trying to extend the play which doesn't always end well.

At this point they need defense more than anything. Just get some homeless dudes who know how to tackle fuck it anything's better than what they have.

This would help Burrow since he could calm down a little bit. If you ever watched Caleb Williams at USC it's like a similar situation where they feel compelled to score on every single possession because otherwise the game gets away from them.
