Honestly since I barely know modern music I'm having trouble thinking of any music star that is both recently big and something that a wide group of people like.
There is K-Pop, I guess. Dear god, please not K-Pop.

Unless they are digging Waylon Jennings up out of the ground and doing a resurrection I don't really care if they get a "country" guy or not. Country music has been just about as bad as everything else for the last 20 years or so, anyway.

Also with the internet helping to fragment our culture and allowing everyone to dictate their own broadcasting, more or less, there aren't really any Superstar Bands that pretty much everyone knows and likes.

Idk it's weird for me. There's never been a Super Bowl Halftime show in my lifetime that I could possibly give a shit about, even as a child.

Running plays when your O-Line gets broken through every play just lead to lost yardage. Now instead of the QB getting to throw the ball away and have a chance to make a play, you have HBs getting tackled as soon as the ball is handed off.

Maybe if they had mixed it up earlier on they could have potentially got something off, but it's very unlikely.
