ho lee fuk the Titans have been given the AFC South on a golden platter.

Colts-glue factory of the AFC, demoralized as fuck now with Luck.
Texans-preparing for another rebuild, BB as GM is complete ass
Jags- Its the Jags lol, they had a fluke of a year and the media keeps sucking them off. If the 9-7 Titans can sweep them, somethings wrong.

Darnold needs to show me something this year for me to get me rooting for him. He's got everything a starting QB should have, except he threw too many ints last year. Although correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Jets improved their receiving core.

Yeah, and they got LeVeon Bell, so the ground attack should be there now. Lessens the load on Darnold. New Jets coaches usually have a good first year. Rex Ryan did, so did Todd Bowles. It's the years after that aren't that great.

(I may have lost $30 but it was worth it to fuck with people by taking Mahomes in round 2. Also big ups Jason Witten dark horse TE 🤡)

I only really follow the NFL tangentially (mainly through UrinatingTree videos these days, I can't stand traditional NFL coverage), but I am constantly perplexed by fans declaring and GMs paying some largely untested quantity as QB Jesus. I remember hearing out of nowhere about this Brock Osweiler guy and then this Ryan Tannehill kid who were going to lead their teams and go straight to the hall of fame. Now it's Jimmy G, Sam Darnold, and Trubisky that everyone has decided will be great on what seems to me pretty thin evidence. Now that Mitch has laid an egg in game 1 will people start being more realistic?

Also even without thinking about the Arizona line, I've been expecting Kylar Murray to be a huge bust since day 1, although maybe that's just my normal reaction to any player that ESPN slobbers all over (for example, I also think Zion is going to underperform and maybe face Greg Oden levels of injuries)

Celebrating 100 years of NFL by playing like it was 100 years ago. The Super Bowl, and this, was some trash-ass football.

So the bears still look like a top 5 defense, that's something to be glad about, I guess.

But hot damn does that offense blow. Time to mentally prepare for the fuckin' possibility that Mitch Trubisky blows.

this absolute fucking madman. I give up, I am literally done trying to make sense of the machinations of the mind of Antonio Brown. I cant decide if he's some kind of 4d chess playing genius or just a simple complete and utter moron. Maybe it's some early onset CTE, who knows, but damn this is some great lulz. I mean can any of you imagine fucking with your boss and the owner of the company like this? And still maybe NOT getting fired for it? Rotflmao. They should have suspended this man by lunch time yesterday.

Apparently due to his antics the Raiders can cut him and not pay him a dime, even of his guaranteed money. 😂

Prior to this article I assumed guaranteed money was always guaranteed.
Yeah, in the NFL guaranteed money is kind of fake news. It usually means it's guaranteed if you're still on the team. This was a big deal with JaMarcus Russel if you can remember that bust. He got arrested for having some party with that prescription cough medicine abundtantly available to guests. When he got cut the Raiders had actually paid some of his guaranteed money in advance that he hadn't actually earned yet, according to the team. They ended up suing each other over it, and the Raiders did end up paying him another 3 million bucks, after saying that he owed THEM six million dollars. That's why players wanted the signing bonus because they could get a serious injury and be cut, and out of a job the next day. A big part of it is a lack of fiscal education, which the NFL has made part of the rookie NFL symposium in recent years.

So the bears still look like a top 5 defense, that's something to be glad about, I guess.

Yeah seems like this is going to be a huge source of friction between Gruden and their GM going forward, especially if Brown really ends up hurting them in the locker room being a distraction. His antics since he's been in Oakland make T.O. look like a saint.

Speaking of which...

Antonio Brown to Raiders: “Release me”

As of Friday afternoon, another Antonio Brown eruption was inevitable. And there have been two since then.

Although the Raiders shrugged at his wiretap-violation YouTube video that landed on Friday night, the Raiders will have a hard time tiptoeing around the latest message from Antonio Brown.

Brown ends a Saturday morning Instagram post with this message: “Release me @raiders.”

Brown’s latest move in this game of self-destructive chess apparently was prompted by the Raiders’ decision to, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, void the remaining guarantees in Brown’s deal. As noted on Thursday, the Raiders have paid Brown nothing— and they already had the power even before Wednesday’s altercation with G.M. Mike Mayock to declare null and void the $14.625 million guarantee for 2019 and the $14.5 million guarantee for 2020.

There surely will be more developments throughout the morning, and we’ll be tracking them all here. For now, the news is that Brown has publicly asked the team to cut him. The next question is whether the Raiders will give him what he wants.

If Brown agrees that he is owed nothing by the team at this point, maybe they will. Maybe, in the interests of focusing on football season and ending one of the biggest distractions a player ever has created, they should.

Lol this of course would happen to the raiders.

*Edit*

Apparently they fined him too.

ANTONIO BROWNHEY RAIDERS ... RELEASE ME NOW!!!

Antonio Brown has gone ballistic again ... this time demanding to be released from his $50 million contract with the Oakland Raiders.

Antonio spelled it out in an Instagram post on Saturday morning, saying "Release me @Raiders #NOMore."

He also posted a pic of a quote ... "You are gonna piss a lot of people off when you start doing what's best for you."

Here's what triggered the craziness. Late Friday night, the Raiders decided to fine Brown $215k for conduct detrimental to the team over an altercation with GM Mike Mayock on Sept. 4. The way the story goes ... Brown exploded on Mayock, allegedly threatening to sock him in the face while calling him a "cracker." Brown's outrage stemmed from a previous $15k fine for missing team workouts.

Brown reached out to reporter Jeff Darlington and complained the $215k fine voids nearly $30 million in guaranteed money from his Raiders' contract. This pissed him off enough to go on social media and ask to be released.

He's certainly drawing a line in the sand, telling Darlington, "No way I play after they took that and made my contract week to week."

The last 24 hours have been wild to say the least -- Brown posted a video Friday night containing pieces of a phone conversation with head coach Jon Gruden. In the video, Gruden essentially tells Brown to cut the crap and get back on the field. Unclear if Gruden knew he was being recorded during the call. Now it seems Brown's career in Oakland is hangin' by a thread -- and the Raiders will likely make a decision in the next few hours.
Stay tuned ...

Is Antonio Brown officially a sportscow now? How do you screw up this bad?! 😂😂

*Double edit*
He’s apparently going to be cut...

CTE mixing in with his personality issues is my guess. I've never seen a NFL team's reddit sour on a superstar player like they have on AB. They ALLLLL want him gone; they don't even give a fuck about the wasted draft picks. They all just want off this ride. :story:

Nigga, Trubisky and Darnold are on rookie contracts and getting paid ~$600k; what the fuck you on?

His career is over. No one wants him now. He has burnt down all bridges so thoroughly that even the Canadians won’t give him a shot.

I dont think he realizes the teams that would pay the equal to that Raiders contract probably don't want him at that price. He ruined his big pay day, and that just might've been the last one. Here are the some salary caps:

It’s official! He’s over!

Raiders cut Antonio Brown after Instagram post asking for release and voiding nearly $30M in guarantees

gen_204

Were you expecting the Antonio Brown saga to end peacefully after Jon Gruden praised him on Friday and said the team was excited to have him back? Congratulations, you played yourself.

After a week that involved several twists and turns, the Raiders granted Antonio Brown's request and released the receiver on Saturday.

It seemed painfully obvious that Brown was going to be released by the Raiders -- or at least suspended for conduct detrimental to the team, with Oakland potentially voiding the guaranteed money in his contract -- as late as noon on Friday. Then Brown apologized to his teammates, Gruden said he was back in and playing Monday and shortly thereafter Brown released a video that appeared to feature a recording of Gruden talking him in to coming back in a phone call.

Ignoring the wiretapping laws of California, it was just a weird thing to do late on a Friday after the team washed him of his sins and brought him back into the fold. Even weirder? Brown wrote "release me" on Instagram Saturday, apparently because the Raiders decided to fine him again.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Raiders took away the guaranteed money in Brown's deal and fined him more than $200,000 on Friday. Brown reacted about as well as you would expect, asking the Raiders for his release on Instagram on Saturday morning.

Brown essentially confirmed as much to ESPN's Jeff Darlington, writing in an email that the Raiders fined him, took away his guarantees and essentially made him a week-to-week employee.

The Raiders have, per NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, sent multiple letters to Brown, with one informing him he has been fined more than $200,000 and the other informing him that if he is released he will not be eligible for termination pay.

Those letters set AB off, obviously, and caused him to demand his release on social media. And the Raiders granted that request on Saturday morning, ending Brown's time in Oakland before he ever played a snap, spelling the end to Brown's short, but absolutely bonkers tenure with the Raiders.

After driving his way out of Pittsburgh, Oakland acquired his services for 2019 third and fifth round picks. He then negotiated a new deal that was set to pay him $50.13 million over the next three years with $30.13 million guaranteed. Of course, that money will never see Brown's pocket.

Trouble first started to come about with Brown and the Raiders when he was unhappy the league was forcing him to swap out his obsolete and unsafe helmet with a newer, safer one. After some hemming and some hawing and a couple of grievances filed in-between, the helmet situation appeared to be behind them.

Oh yeah, did we mention that he was also dealing with frostbite on his feet after a mishap in a cryotherapy machine? It's incredible that this story is so far down the depth chart at this point, but here we are.

Along with the fine and voiding of his guarantees, the straw began to break the camel's back between Brown and the Raiders with an altercation between the receiver and general manager Mike Mayock. Brown was upset about the fines, allegedly threw cuss words at Mayock's way and then punted a football. He away from the team for a day in an attempt to cool things down, but that was clearly just a Band-Aid on a major gash.

Despite head coach Jon Gruden declaring that things were all set with Brown and that he was going to play on Monday, clearly things have gone haywire. Now, we will never see him suit up for the Raiders at any point.

Oh man I really hope someone's locked up Pete Carrol before he offers Brown a 1 season contract to feed his savior complex.
