Cam Newton wants trade.
He claims he was forced into seeking one:

Cam Newton wants trade.
Well, that's one way to phrase it, at least:

Looks like Hurney's well and truly blowing everything up. That's a frankly ridiculous amount of money to pay Teddy, even factoring in the mentoring he's probably going to do for whoever they draft over the next 2 years to be the new franchise QB. Hey, at least my team got Greg Olsen out of it, we needed someone to mentor and offset Dissly. Though, going by that reply there, it wasn't voluntary for him either.
EDIT: Goddammit @Army Burger you literally ninja'd me by seconds!

Now that Brady is headed to Tampa Bay, my guess is that Famous Jameis signs with the Bears.

They have to rig the season to end with a NE vs. TB Super Bowl next year. It's just too good not to.

Everyone is thinking that Tampa is hot-shit now, but they're paper tigers when it comes to Super Bowl levels in my eyes. Either Arians is going to have to overhaul his playbook, or Brady is going to have to be something he isn't any more: a deep throwing threat. Winston ain't great, but the guy has a cannon arm. If his QB can't fucking chuck it deep and be semi-accurate, he really doesn't have success. It's all about developing long routes with Arians; hence 5k yards for Winston. This has a Eagles "Dream Team" written all over it.

2012 / 9-3 record / Andrew Luck
2013 / 10-6 / Carson Palmer (Age 34)
2014 / 11-5 / Carson went 6-0 and Stanton/Lindley went 5-5
2015 / 13-3 / Carson
2016 / 7-8-1 / Carson went 6-8-1 and Stanton 1-0
2017 / 8-8 / Carson (age 38 went 3-4, Gabbert went 2-3, Stanton went 3-1
2019 / 7-9 / Chubby Boy Winston

Tampa Bay will make the playoffs, but I don't see them getting past the Divisional Round as their roster stands.

Adam Schefter says The Hard Knocks crew is planning a surprise. They plan to film both The LA Chargers and The LA Rams? I am surprised it wouldn't be The Steelers getting filmed.
Mike Tomlin fucking hates the concept of Hard Knocks and doesn't want it anywhere near his team, and Kroenke desperately needs something to build hype for the Rams in the new stadium after two seasons of mortgaging their future for Super Bowl runs didn't deliver the desired hardware. If the Chargers do wind up signing Cam I'd start believing that Hard Knocks this year is going to be a double feature, getting his attempt at a redemption arc on camera is ratings gold.

My chargers need all the help they can get. Granted they should still be in San Diego but that boat is long gone. If we could get Cam and some high draft QB it will be a nice few years. Tyrod worked out with Cam in Atlanta (I may be wrong) so hopefully that is a good sign that T-mobile is cool with backing up Cam. Biggest problem is the compete inability to get the team doctors to have a look at him.

Ah well. Chargers are going to charger.

I think the Patriots even winning the division is a coin toss at this point. We'll probably back into it as the Bills do their usual implosion, the Jets remain the Jets, and the Dolphins revert to being the punchline to a bad joke. But this is far from the lock it has been for over a decade.

FWIW, I think the Brady in TB situation has all the look to it of Montana in KC. Obviously I could be wrong, especially as I have no clue about TB's O-line (Brady needs time, always has).

His O-line is pretty good. They protected Jameis Winston pretty well in the Bruce Arians offense of six step drop back long ball. (I could be wrong lmao)
