Don't worry, it'll work out! Ain't that right @Absolutego? You have front row seats every week to what Seattle's offensive line became!

Seriously though, offensive line is important, if you need to shed anything, then shed one of your receivers or tight ends. Mahomes is going to have to play like how he did in the Super Bowl every time he plays a team with a good defense with a shit o-line
As fun as the memes are, I'd wait to see whatever moves KC makes in the offseason before completely panning their OL releases this offseason. Schwartz has a pretty serious back injury (usually career-ending for tackles) and apparently their rookie tackle opted out and they're pretty hyped about him. They might only need to replace Fisher.
And tbh we (the Seahawks) had a solidly average o-line around Russ this year, it's just that our scheme makes zero use of the line's, or our QB's strengths in lieu of a portrait of extremes between "Let Russ Cook" deep chucks and 80's running game. If we tried to develop a dink and dunk intermediate passing scheme we probably would've made it more than one and done this year.

double posting because fuck you.

I'm so goddamn tired of the media pretending there's a chance we trade Russell to the Bears this season. That'd incur a 20% dead cap for a win now team. If we actually do that both our coach and gm deserve to be fired regardless of previous records. I'm not going to pretend everything's hunky-dory and fully expect Russ to demand a trade if we disappoint next season in a similar way, but to do it now, before the draft, in exchange for a moldy bag of peanuts from Chicago is ludicrous.

Drew Brees officially announced his retirement yesterday.

The Patriots are making some big splashes in free agency right now. They signed former Titans tight end Jonnu Smith for $50 million over four years. They also went and signed the Ravens' back-to-back Pro Bowl defensive end Matt Judon for $56 million over four years. Defensive tackle Davon Godchaux is moving within the division from Miami on a two-year $16 million deal, too. And just breaking, they've signed cornerback turned safety Jalen Mills now formerly of the Eagles to a four-year $24 million contract.

Edit: meanwhile Joe Thuney is off to the Chiefs with a five-year $80 million contract to protect Mahomes.

Edit 2: the Pats just keep going and have now signed a pair of receivers. Nelson Agholor from Vegas for two years and $26 million, and Kendrick Bourne from the 49ers at $22.5 million over three years.

Although Dalton was garbage last year, if the Bears can protect him, then he might be the best QB they've had in over 10 years.....though that's literally not saying much. It's not hard to be the best when your competition has been literal turds at the position. He's nothing more than a bridge QB for this year

Of course I found out yesterday that Drew Brees is retiring, but I was surprised to find out that J.J. Watt is going to Arizona. Him and Kyler Murray could be an interesting duo.

Anyway, thank you to Drew Brees for being on the cover of this (last) good Madden game:

Still will be a future Hall of Famer next to Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning. Tom Brady will come in first, of course :smug:

I've read comments from his supporters saying that they're fake and were encouraged by the Texans to ruin his image, but if they are actually real, then those lawsuits couldn't have come at a better timing for the Texans.

so how about Deshaun Watson being outed as a sex pest?

I was skeptical at first but I believe they're up to 14 lawsuits levied against him now.

I've read comments from his supporters saying that they're fake and were encouraged by the Texans to ruin his image, but if they are actually real, then those lawsuits couldn't have come at a better timing for the Texans.
It would not surprise me if it was a little from Column A and a little from Column B.

I'm going to reserve judgment until Watson gets his due process. The fact that more than a dozen people have come out and said it makes there a lot of smoke for this fire, while at the same time it wouldn't shock me if a couple of these claims weren't jumping into a class action suit hoping for a settlement. This thing went from 1 to 2 to 3 to 7 to 14 in a hurry.

Watching the metoo brigade trying to dance around why major media keeps trying to suppress this story by saying things like "lawsuit by lawyer filed against Deshaun Watson" instead of the normal "new accuser says QB sexually assaulted her," when the obvious answer is that in 2021 you can't go after a popular black idol, is pretty damn funny.

At first I didn't really buy it but the smoke is pouring out of the building at this point.

The timing actually screwed the Texans, they're now stuck with him and he's almost certainly going to wind up on the exempt list for at least part of next season, if not all of it. The accusers' lawyer also went public the day before trades could be finalized, so if the Texans had known this was coming they didn't even have the opportunity to offload him to some other sucker in exchange for draft stock.

I wish I could watch Goodell sweating in his office, trying to figure out how to tapdance between #BelieveAllWomen and #BlackLivesMatter. He's screwed either way and will almost certainly find some way to cock the whole thing up and look hypocritical.

This isn't a lawyer fishing for random women off the street.

These are massage therapists - and not masseuses that do rub and tugs in some dirty strip mall - these are real professional women that work with athletes and other high profile clients. Basically every masseuse that he's interacted with for the past year and a half or more is accusing him of sexual assault. The fact that he's been jumping from one to another at such an incredible rate is extremely suspect in and of itself.

The chances that this is fake are 0.0%. This is potentially career ending stuff I wonder how hard the NFL is going to work to try and sweep this under the rug.

He should have taken one from Brady's playbook; Kiss your kids on the lips, never try to kiss the masseuse.

Yeah. Watson is fucked. 22 women accusing him, 14 accusers filing cases many of which could become criminal.

I'm always one to wait for the facts to come out and let the system playout.... But I do not think the NFL is gonna let him play with all of this hanging over him.

Not with this many accusers.

Like others have said, I can't wait to see Goodell and the NFL fuck this up even more. Like they do with everything.

I'm gonna start believing something is cosmically fucking with this league if the Texans are forced to draft someone like Kyle Trask in the 3rd because Bill traded away all their early picks this year, and Tyrod Taylor winds up getting sacrificed at the altar to spawn a new franchise QB again.

For a dude that has only started 47 games, hasn't won anything and has put up marginal stats at best he has carved out a nice 54 million in career earnings. I've watched him play a bit and he can actually sling it and can move. But I don't believe for a second that he's actually 6'1" and even though he is a solid decision maker in game (solid TD-INT ratio) he seemingly never makes plays when it matters.

I see why he gets picked up every year though. He's actually a pretty solid backup or situational guy.

Remember the bidding system in free agency on Madden 12? That was when it was last playable. They had already stopped caring by then but at least they tried to give us something.

We're now at 16 lawsuits, and his lawyer, Rusty Hardin, made a statement about them. Why does the lawyer name just sound so perfect for the situation?

The only decent team he started for was the Bills, and Josh Allen was considered a running back pretending to be a QB with the same talent Tyrod was working with before they went out and got Diggs to bolster their receiving core. Tyrod makes decent decisions, but I doubt the talent on the Texans is good enough to make them a winner next year, and if they draft another QB and he ends up playing kingmaker a third time? Hilarious.

The 49ers and Dolphins made a potentially huge trade involving draft picks today.

To Miami:
  • 12th overall pick in upcoming draft
  • 3rd round pick in upcoming draft (I guess it's their comp pick which is selection #102)
  • 1st round pick in 2022
  • 1st round pick in 2023
To San Francisco:
  • 3rd overall pick (originally belonging to Houston) in upcoming draft
Update

Now Miami has made a deal with the Eagles and has traded right back up a bit.

To Miami:
  • 6th overall pick in upcoming draft
  • 156th overall pick in upcoming draft
To Philadelphia:
  • 12th overall pick in upcoming draft, just acquired from the 49ers
  • 123rd overall pick in upcoming draft
  • 1st round pick in 2022 (not sure if it was Miami's original pick or the one they just acquired from the 49ers)

Laremy Tunsil is basically responsible for an entire generation of Dolphins stars at this point. They turned one great OL into like 4 first round picks, ridiculous.
Also lol Jimmy G's getting replaced for sure, one year left at SF at most.
