Remind me again when was the last time a Buckeyes QB panned out?
Have any besides Haskins been drafted in the first round recently? Terrelle Pryor had a thousand yard receiving season if that counts.

Edit: Shit I totally forgot about Darrisaw when I mentioned o-line guys upthread.

Cardale was a mid rounder, Troy Smith was a manlet, Schlichter had the gambling problem. Those are the ones I can think up off the top my head.
How dare you forget Braxton Miller. Anyway, none of those guys projected well as professional quarterbacks. I think Fields is a better prospect as a passer, but he'd have to break two trends (Bears QB and O-H-I-O alumnus QB) to succeed.

Edit: Love the Lawrence-Etienne reunion in Shad Khan's north Florida shithole. Burrow-Chase, Tua-Waddle, Lawrence-Etienne. Is pairing college quarterbacks with one of their NCAA weapons as a pro the new hotness?

I'm a total draft nerd if it wasn't obvious and I have no fucking idea who this guy is.
I was looking him up too and most of what I'm seeing has him more as an early-to-mid third round pick. Really nice pick by the Bills. Gregory Rousseau probably would've gone quite a bit higher if he had played in 2020.

Rousseau is my favorite edge prospect in this draft. Fuck man, I really like the Bills. Not that anyone gives a shit about my fantasy team, but Josh Allen made me a champ last year.

I can't believe the bears traded away fucking everything AGAIN for a QB when they could have just taken Mac Jones.

Now that day one is over, I'm going to shit up the thread with my absolute favorite draft moment from a couple of years ago when Pat McAfee went full Bruce Buffer hype-man announcing a Colts third round pick.

Of course YouTube won't do an actual embed. If you're reading this thread and haven't seen this shit, it's definitely worth your while.

Look at who the Bears GM is: Ryan Pace. Same GM who traded up to get Trubisky a few years back
:story:
I thought he got the boot last year. Or was I thinking of someone else. It’s just amazing how much of a mirror image this is again, down to signing a veteran QB and telling him he’s going to be the starter about a month before the draft then throwing your future into the fire to take a QB. At least this time he might be able to develop a bit before playing, if Dalton doesn’t retire out of spite.

Dalton is basically done tbh. He was an absolute disaster last year, nobody thought picking him up was a good move. He's probably just happy to be out of Dallas.

This makes it even more of a mirror to what happened with Trubisky.

I am laughing so hard. Cousins isn’t perfect but at least we’re getting an O-Line going compared to the trash fire that the Bears front office is.

Anyway some dumb and crazy predictions for the upcoming season. I doubt many of them will happen but if they do I fucking called it.

Vikings go 8-8, management decides it’s time for a full rebuild because the Packers win the division again and fires fucking everyone. This is less crazy and more me knowing the team I love is fucking cursed.

Zac Wilson suffers a career ending injury in his first start. I have nothing against him, I just can’t think of a more crazy way to have this pick backfire on the jets outside of him sucking bad (which is likely tbh, even with the new Jets HC being a pretty good coach)

Gardner Minshew becomes a starter somewhere. Why not?

Sam Darnold has an emotional breakdown from being on a team with a coach that isn’t complete trash.

Tom Brady is revealed to be the anti christ or on PED’s. Either way people still support him.

The Steelers implode halfway through the season and blame everyone but themselves.

Saints luck their way into a super bowl appearance.

Eagles sign EDP to a motivational speaking role in the locker room.

Dave Gettleman continues to make terrible choices as a GM (this one isn’t crazy it’s true)

The [NAME REDACTED] just decide to stick with being the Football Team since everyone called them Washington most of the time anyway.

Jerry Jones dies thus freeing us from his malignant evil until he resurrects himself using the force or some shit

The worst team in the league will be the Falcons, giving them the chance to draft a talented prospect as replacement for Matt Ryan again.

Bills win the Super Bowl.

So anyone else think the Jags will fuck up with Lawrence?
Coin toss. Too soon to tell.

Personal opinion: I don't think he's gonna be a total bust, but I think he is going to struggle for a year or two, minimum. NFL defenses are just so freaking fast it kind of seems to me reading them is something innate, either you have it or you don't, but also something you gotta see a bit before you figure it out. Mahomes, misstep in the most recent Super Bowl aside, can do it. Sam Darnold ... I'm covinced can't.

It might just be a stupid enough year for that to happen. Bills and Jags in the AFC Championship as the Chiefs have gotten one too many whiffs of their own farts.

What's everyone think about Rodgers being on the move? Denver maybe?
Denver is salivating at the idea, and their new GM would probably sacrifice Elway upon an altar to the old gods to get him.
