The whole Tim Tebow situation almost rises to lolcow status, I'd think, but I just started following it the other day. Opinions?

LMAO, George Floyd's death has something to do with it all.

Tim Tebow’s Jaguars jersey is already a top-seller

etc., I guess.

Also, kim-chi eaters need not apply. At least when it comes to NFL coaching positions.

Eugene Chung says he was called 'not the right minority' during NFL coaching interview

Asians have always gotten the shaft when it comes to minorities. Though I'd count Hispanics as well for the NFL, whenever they say minority (anywhere in general too), it always means black.
Also not surprised about George Floyd being put into First Take. ESPN and those shows have become unwatchable to me. UrinatingTree made a video where they have to make more outrageous and click-baity takes just to get people to watch and this just proves it. Thankfully, UT and his group of basement sports dwellers has sports content which I once used ESPN for

The Atlanta Falcons are expected to trade wide receiver Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans, barring any setbacks, in the next 24 to 48 hours, according to sources.

The two sides still are finalizing compensation, but as one source said, "I feel very good about this."

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Falcons and Titans are discussing whether the package for Jones will be a second- and a fifth-round pick, or a second-round pick with a swap of other picks.

If there are no snags, the trade would be processed as early as Monday.

Details of the trade via Ian Rapoport:
The #Falcons get a 2022 2nd rounder and a 2023 4th rounder.

The #Titans get Julio Jones & a 6th rounder in 2023.
The #Titans take on Jones’ salary of $15.3M in 2021 and the rest of the deal.

Do I want Tannehill to do this so I can see the entire Dolphins fanbase on suicide watch, or do I want Wentz to go all the way so we can see the entire Iggles fanbase on suicide watch? Tough call, though I probably dislike Iggles fans more at this point. 😐

It'll be interesting to see if any teams, especially AFC West teams, can draw lessons from the Super Bowl in terms of shutting down Mahomes. As of right now, kind of thinking this might be Buffalo's year, though I've probably just jinxed them.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers not expected to report for minicamp

The writing had long been on the wall. On Monday, it was confirmed: Aaron Rodgers will not report for the start of minicamp on Tuesday.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the latest development in the ongoing saga between Rodgers and the Packers, noting that there is "no change" in regards to the star's status, per an informed source.
Barring any overnight developments, Rodgers will officially become a holdout. His decision to sit will subject him to the possibility of receiving a $93,085 fine should he miss all three days of minicamp, Pelissero added.
It's worth noting the veteran gunslinger has already jeopardized a $500,000 workout bonus by missing OTAs, per Pelissero.
If Rodgers' absence extends into training camp, which begins July 27, increased financial penalties are sure to come his way.
In the meantime, Green Bay will have to soldier on and continue preparing for the 2021 campaign as management further works to repair its relationship with the future Hall of Famer.
While Rodgers being MIA will be a massive loss, the team did receive some good news on the offensive side Monday morning as it was reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that the receiving corps, most notably Davante Adams, are all expected to be back for minicamp.

Packers fans are officially on suicide watch. I'm really interested to see how this one works out. Aaron Rodgers on the Broncos would be fucking insane.

Those financial penalties won't do shit to a man who signed a huge contract with $98M of that being guaranteed. Packers front office can play hardball all they want, but they better hope Jordan Love doesn't play like all of the other QB's who they've put in when Rodgers was injured.

Apologies for being a little late, but it surprised me how I barely remember as a little kid that he used to coach the Giants back in the early 2000’s, when Madden games were still all the rage back then.

Hopefully Fassel’s family can find peace at this time, but I do remember a little bit about his team coaching the Giants before Tom Coughlin came in and gave them the real trophies.

Raiders DL Carl Nassib becomes first active NFL player to come out as gay

On a June afternoon in the offseason, Carl Nassib has made NFL history as the first active player to come out as gay.
The Raiders defensive lineman, a league veteran of five years, made the announcement on Monday via Instagram.
"What's up people," Nassib posted on Instagram. "I'm at my house in West Chester, Pennsylvania. I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I'm gay. I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but finally feel comfortable getting it off my chest. I really have the best life, the best family, friends and job a guy can ask for.
"I'm a pretty private person so I hope you guys know that I'm not doing this for attention. I just think that representation and visibility are so important. I actually hope that one day, videos like this and the whole coming out process are not necessary, but until then I will do my best and my part to cultivate a culture that's accepting and compassionate and I'm going to start by donating $100,000 to the Trevor Project. They're an incredible organization, they're the number one suicide-prevention service for LGBTQ youth in America."
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell later issued the following statement in support of Nassib's announcement.
"The NFL family is proud of Carl for courageously sharing his truth today," Goddell wrote. "Representation matters. We share his hope that someday soon statements like his will no longer be newsworthy as we march toward full equality for the LGBTQ+ community. We wish Carl the best of luck this coming season."
June is LGBT Pride Month and Nassib has made a monumental statement amidst it. Following his initial statement, Nassib left a longer message, explaining how long it took for him to come to the decision to make his announcement and in regard to helping in the battle of decreasing suicide within the LGBTQ community.
"Hey everyone, happy Pride Month. Right now, I am sitting in a moment of gratitude and relief. Sadly, I have agonized over this moment for the last 15 years. Only until recently, thanks to my family and friends, especially Conor, Cason and Francis, did it seem possible for me to say publicly and proudly that I'm gay. I am also incredibly thankful for the NFL, my coaches and fellow players for their support. I would not have been able to do this without them. From the jump, I was greeted with the utmost respect and acceptance.

"I truly love my life and cannot understand why I have been blessed with so much. I feel especially thankful to have had so much support when many who came before -- and many even now -- do not. I stand on the shoulders of giants, incredible people who paved the way for me to have this opportunity. I do not know all the history behind our courageous LGBTQ community but I am eager to learn and to help continue the fight for quality and acceptance.
"As I mentioned in my video message, I am partnering with The Trevor Project when I learned about their mission to provide suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ community. Young LGBTQ kids are over 5x more likely than their straight friends to consider suicide. For someone like me, who has been so lucky and cherishes every day, it brings me incredible sadness to think that out LGBTQ youth are at such an elevated risk for suicide. I feel an immense responsibility to help in any way I can -- and you can too. Studies have shown that all it takes is one accepting adult to decrease the risk of an LGBTQ kid attempting suicide by 40%. Whether you're a friend, a parent, a coach or a teammate -- you can be that person.
"Lastly, I hope everyone can understand that I am just one person. I am a lanky walk-on who is living his dream. I only have a small window to achieve greatness in my sport and I owe it to my team, coaches and Raider fans to be completely locked in and at my best for the upcoming season. I'm a private person, so I'd ask the media to give me some space as I navigate this exciting time in my life. Please do not take it personally if I decline an interview or am unable to answer your questions. Thank you everyone for your support."
The 28-year-old Nassib has played five NFL seasons, starting with the Browns, who took him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, for two seasons, then the Buccaneers for two more and last year played with the Raiders, starting five games.
Nassib coming out occurs more than seven years after Michael Sam was selected by the Rams and became the first openly gay player to be drafted. Before Sam and since, NFL players have come out after their playing days, but none during them. That all changed on Monday.
Nassib's announcement will go down as a historical one in the NFL and the world of sports, along with being a step forward in a path toward equality.

I heard he is a republican? Apparently he was praising Nikki Haleys book when he was with Tampa

A white dude in the NFL being a Republican should surprise approximately nobody, but of course reddit is throwing an autism fit because he's "literally supporting the removal of his rights" by being a Log Cabin Republican. Never mind that Republicans ran a pro-gay rights candidate before Democrats ever did, or that a man is allowed interests independent of his sexuality. He's clearly betraying the community.

concepts like this completely melt the neurons of these people

If the NFC East sucks balls again this year, I guess I can see see it, with them going 8-9* getting curb stomped by an Atlanta or LA Rams or some other real team who loses their division but wins the wild card.

* - It is gonna take me years to think a 17 game season looks normal.

which, looking at their current roster, would be the worst thing for them. The fucks are like the Orioles from a few years ago, fancying themselves as contenders. BTW, they likely have another exodus of the SB team coming next year. They didn't go far enough in their tear down(GM is still there). Maybe if they division collapses and they go 6-11 they can take the division. I'd love to see Dallas fail but given their schedule and should-be better defense(can't get any worse), along with minimal health issues, there's no way they don't win 10 games, and if they do, they needed to be meme'd to anoher planet

This video was posted today by one of my favorite NFL youtubers. A very bizarre story about an NFL prospect that I'd never heard of before named Adam Muema, who threw his potential NFL career away to join a cult.

STE tries to paint Muema as a sympathetic figure, but I find it hard to feel bad for anyone who could get suckered into such obvious bullshit like this. It's an interesting watch nonetheless.

Also this RayEl clown sounds like prime lolcow material. Scumbag, probable pedo, grifter, con-artist, god complex, adopter of terrible accents, he ticks a lot of boxes. Surprised that this is the first time I've ever heard of him.
