More sad news about former Patriots players, this time about one of the bigger names in franchise history: former fullback Sam Cunningham passed away at the age of 71 (his birthday, like Patten's was just a few weeks ago.) He was also the older brother of Randall Cunningham.

Cunningham spent his entire 10 year career (1973-1982) with the Patriots, making the Pro Bowl in 1978. He still holds the Patriots' records for the most career rushing yards and attempts. Prior to going pro, he was the MVP of the 1973 Rose Bowl as a member of the USC Trojans. In 2021 he was inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame, and the Patriots Hall of Fame.

He sucked in the preseason too. Sure his vaccine status getting him put on the COVID list last week fucked him over in terms of Mac getting more reps, but at this point I think he's just washed. His shoulder's too fucked to be throwing passes anywhere but the dirt, and unless he starts loading up on avocados and pliability training I don't think he'll ever be more than a third stringer, unless a team is totally desperate.

So maybe he'll wind up on the Broncos this year, lmao.
What are we feeling about the report that Mac Jones was teaching Cam Newton the playbook before Cam's release?

Just in case anyone missed the news out of Ravens' practice today (RIP Gus Edwards AND Marcus Peters)

This has been a great game so far, both teams look very sharp. I was betting on Washington being the best team in the NFC East, but the Cowboys have played far better than I expected. This team has some teeth with Dak back, don't sleep on them.

A nail-biter. Bucs won as I thought they would but they didn't deserve it with all those turnovers and that clear uncalled offensive PI on their last drive. GG Prescott.

What a game! Cowboys fans should be very happy with that performance despite the loss.
They should win the division easily. Somehow I've never really bought into Prescott, I guess because I've always kind of hated the Cowboys, but if he stays healthy I'm calling them in the NFC East 5-1 or even 6-0.

Now watch Dallas collapse and Fitzmagic turn into the reincarnation of Joe Montana and lead them to the Super Bowl or something. Where he'll throw 8 INTs in a massive reversion to type. That's typically how my predictions go.

clear uncalled offensive PI on their last drive.
I thought it could have gone either way, meaning a bias toward offense as is the case these days is understandable on the non-call. Dunno. Might also be my Dallas Derangement Syndrome rearing its ugly head, I'll concede.

The Dallas kicker, OTOH, 31 yarder miss (something like that) and a PAT miss. Ouch. As best I could tell the snap and placement for both looked fine, too. Is that sound I hear Jerry Jones scouring the waiver wire?

Ratings up 29% from last year's opener.

Nope fuck that. That was OPI on Godwin on the last drive and Greg the Leg left four points on the board. Sure, they'll win this shitty division if they stay healthy, but that ain't GLORYHOLE. Also Lael Collins tested positive for some recreational drug, so our right tackle is gone for five weeks. Martin should be back at right guard next week, but with Collins out for a few games, I wouldn't be opposed to just kicking Martin outside and keep McGovern at RG.

The Cardinals are assraping the Titans in every possible way. Offensively, defensively, special teams. I'm glad I bought two four packs for this. :stress:

Whet the hell, is the ball in the Pats game greased or something? I can't remember the last time I saw four fumbles by one team in a single game before.
