Hallo.

This thread is to show your appreciation for celebrities that are well past their glory days but still around.
It may surprise you how many there are out there.

Aside from all the obvious ones like William Shatner (93 and still kicking) show some love to all your favorite olds.

I'll start off:

John Astin (3/30/1930)
John Astin.jpgJohn_Astin.jpg
He's been an active actor since the 1950s.
Most people probably know him as the original Gomez Addams from The Addams Family:

I first knew him as the guy who owned the World of Stuff from the 90s horror/comedy show Eerie Indiana and Professor Wickwire from the under appreciated Bruce Campbell classic The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

I have to say though that my favorite roll of his was in the Tales from the Crypt episode "Top Billing". I won't spoil the episode in case you want to watch it for yourself, but he's he's great in it with his quintessential charm and smile:

Bro is still alive at 94 (soon to be 95) and good for him!
Hope he's doing well.

Which elderly actors do you appreciate?

Ozzy Osbourne TWU. 3 December 1948
We literally have people on Twitter waiting until he dies to yell at KingCobraJFS.

Edit because Chris-Chan sticker popped up.

Ozzy isn't allowed to die until Sharon gives him permission to do so.

June Lockheart. She will be 100 in June.

Dick Van Dyke: 12/13/1925
99 years old currently

I have this weird thing that I find myself doing in the last couple of years where I've been googling his name every couple of weeks just to see if he'd keeled over yet. He's surprisingly not reclusive and actually very active for an almost 100 year old man and frankly I'm amazed that he mostly seems to be all there mentally and socially.

That or his handlers are really damn good.

Astronaut Jim Lovell

Born: 1928-03-26 (96 years old)

In 1968, as command module pilot of Apollo 8, he became, with Frank Borman and William Anders, one of the first three astronauts to fly to and orbit the Moon.

He then commanded the Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1970 which, after a critical failure en route, looped around the Moon and returned safely to Earth.

He was in a Coldplay music video about two months ago.

Eastwood will turn 95 this year, I really really really like that guy.
Tatsuya nakadai is almost 90, another great actor from the greatest generation.
I think kitano is pushing 80, I don't know if he's working on anything but he did star in the yakuza games couple years ago.
Morgan freeman is like 85 now, I like to think he retired in the 2010s and all his cash ins didn't happen.
Michael caine is almost 90, retired last year
Nicholson is also somewhere close to 90, I know he's a bit of a pos but I like him

dunkaccino (dead name al pacino) is still kickin. He's been in plenty of stinkers but like brando has so much talent that even when he's not trying he's great. He says he's never done coke and that he just naturally has that manic energy, don't know if I buy that but either way I hope he takes it easy for his health.

Buzz Aldrin is still alive and one year younger.
